After Giving Birth, All My Beast Ex-Husbands Suddenly Want Me Back-Chapter 37: Not my type
This time, the visitor was a male—quite tall, dark-skinned, broad-shouldered, and sturdy, with an honest, almost rustic look. He seemed to be one of the males who had escorted her home yesterday.
Nina stood up and walked over. Leah and the others followed.
"Nina, um... I—I brought you some meat," the male said shyly. "I hunted this wild rabbit early this morning. It’s very fresh."
He awkwardly set down the enormous rabbit he’d been carrying on his shoulder.
Everything in the beast world really was big—this rabbit was practically the size of a grey wolf.
"Oh? Ada, since when did you become so diligent?" Minnie teased. "Out hunting first thing in the morning, too."
"For a female I admire, of course I have to work harder," Ada replied frankly, not bothering to hide it.
Before Nina could respond, another male arrived.
This one was even taller and more imposing than Ada, with sharp features and a faint air of menace between his brows.
He glanced at Ada with disdain. "A mere rabbit? I hunted a horned beast for Nina."
With that, he dragged the massive beast behind him forward. His tone carried a hint of pride and intimacy. "Nina, this horned beast is specially for you. The meat is very tender—females love it."
Nina frowned and took a small step back. She didn’t remember being familiar with this male at all.
Leah and the others, however, couldn’t help feeling a bit envious. Horned beast meat was famously delicious—and notoriously hard to obtain.
Horned beasts were massive creatures with thick armored scales and a deadly horn on their snouts, resembling rhinoceroses. They were both strong offensively and defensively, fast despite their size, and usually lived in dangerous regions. Ordinary beastmen rarely managed to hunt them.
Ada looked dejected. His prey clearly couldn’t compare, but he refused to lose in spirit. "Sano, just because you hunted a horned beast doesn’t mean anything. Maybe the female prefers rabbit meat!"
Nina glanced at both offerings and said calmly, "Thank you both for bringing me prey, but I already have enough food. I won’t be able to finish any more. Please take them back and eat them yourselves."
Ada heard the rejection but wasn’t ready to give up. "If you don’t like rabbit, I can bring you something else, alright?"
"Thank you, but I truly have enough food," Nina repeated.
A dark glint flashed through Sano’s eyes. He hadn’t expected Nina to reject his horned beast.
Rejecting a rabbit was understandable—but rejecting a horned beast? No female ever did that.
Annoyed, he said, "Nina, have you never eaten horned beast meat before? It’s really delicious—you’d definitely like it. And horned beasts aren’t something just anyone can hunt."
Nina frowned even more. "No need. I’m not interested."
"Why not interested, Nina—"
Sano stepped forward and actually tried to grab her hand. Nina immediately dodged, retreating several steps.
"Just try it. I guarantee you’ll like it."
Sano was convinced she was only refusing because she’d never tasted it.
Mino stepped in front of Nina, his expression darkening. "Try what? She already said she’s not interested. If Nina wants horned beast meat, I can hunt it for her anytime. Take your prey and leave—we don’t need it."
"What right do you have to speak for her?" Sano snapped. "You can’t even hunt a horned beast yourself—why are you stopping others?"
"What Mino said is exactly what I mean," Nina said coldly. "Please take your prey and leave. We don’t need it."
She was genuinely annoyed now. She hated males who had no sense of boundaries and refused to take no for an answer.
"Nina, is Mino forcing you?" Sano glared at Mino. "Is he too domineering, stopping you from accepting gifts from other males?"
"No. I simply don’t want it. Please leave," Nina said impatiently.
"Nina, you’re a female. You shouldn’t be controlled by a male," Sano insisted, convinced she was being pressured.
"I said no. Leave," Nina repeated, thoroughly fed up.
"Nina—"
Before he could continue, Mino released his pressure. "Did you hear her? Nina told you to leave. If you don’t, don’t blame me for being rough."
Ice crystals had already begun forming around Mino. Sano knew he was no match. He shot Nina an unwilling glance, then quickly retreated.
Mino withdrew the ice. "Nina, ignore males like that in the future. Let me handle it. He’s not a good male."
"Mm," Nina nodded. She agreed completely.
Ada, seeing Sano driven away, picked up his rabbit with a disappointed look. He glanced at Nina once more, then left as well.
Leah and the others hadn’t expected Nina to reject something as valuable as a horned beast. Sano wasn’t even from their tribe, but they’d heard of him—he was said to be very strong, nearly at the fifth rank.
Bibi pointed at the horned beast Sano had left behind. "Nina, what should we do with this?"
Nina thought for a moment. "Let’s take it to Chief Tali later. I don’t know how to deal with it myself."
Leah’s eyes lit up. If it went to her father, maybe she could get a share—she was quite tempted by horned beast meat.
"Nina, why didn’t you accept Sano’s prey?" Leah asked curiously. "Horned beasts are rare. Only very powerful males can hunt them. Sano’s from the neighboring Elder’s Tribe, right? I heard he’s nearly fifth-rank."
Minnie also didn’t quite understand. In the tribe, a male close to the fifth rank was already extremely strong. Females usually welcomed such males—some even actively pursued them.
Leah and Bibi felt the same.
"I just don’t like that type," Nina said simply.
"That makes sense. Everyone has different preferences," Minnie said. "I don’t like his type either. I prefer males who are fairer and not too huge—though if they’re very strong, I might consider it."
Leah and Bibi nodded in agreement. Putting the incident behind them, they supported Nina back to the table and resumed chatting.
Before long, more males came to deliver gifts. Nina dealt with a few, then eventually had Mino handle the rest when she grew tired.
"Nina, you’re really popular now," Leah laughed. "But you don’t like any of those males? Mino is great, but you have too few beast husbands. With babies later on, he’ll be too busy to take proper care of you."
Even though they didn’t know why Nina and Mino hadn’t gone to have their bond engraved, they all assumed Mino was Nina’s male—her future partner.
"Yes," Minnie agreed. "Nina, you really should take on more beast husbands. Life will be much easier that way."
