After Rebirth, I Accept The Arranged Marriage-Chapter 60: Too Dangerous
Jessie Sterling, of course, wasn’t actually hungry. She had been on an intense diet for the wedding recently and would never ruin the once-in-a-lifetime event for a momentary craving.
Victor Morgan had driven over himself. Jessie was still trying to figure out how to explain her relationship with Julian Grant to him. But just as she settled into the passenger seat, before she had a chance to decide what to say, a shadow suddenly fell over her.
Victor had already leaned across the center console. He turned, cradled the side of her face, and lowered his head to kiss her.
Victor had been holding back the entire drive.
He had told Jessie long ago not to think of him as some perfect gentleman.
He, too, had plenty of dark thoughts and the same base instincts all men possessed.
For instance, when he saw Julian Grant earlier, Victor had desperately wanted to kiss Jessie fiercely right in front of the man.
He didn’t want Jessie to even see any man who coveted her. He wanted to forcefully declare his ownership, his possessiveness.
The kiss caught Jessie completely by surprise. After a brief moment of shock, she complied, wrapping her arms around Victor’s neck. She tilted her head back, sweetly accepting his kiss.
’I guess I did miss him a little,’ she thought.
Besides, him showing up tonight had been a truly pleasant surprise.
Jessie’s compliance stirred something in Victor.
He had only meant to punish her a little, but he couldn’t resist how pliant she was. This woman, who was usually so delicate and impossibly prim, was now so incredibly docile in his arms. Even if Victor wasn’t a man driven by lust, her behavior had him hook, line, and sinker. His heart softened, and he couldn’t hold back.
Victor reached out, his hand gripping Jessie’s slender waist. With a single arm, he lifted her straight out of the passenger seat and settled her onto his lap.
He pushed his seat back, creating just enough room for the two of them.
Jessie yelped in surprise as he lifted her.
"What are you doing?!" Panic flickered across her face. Even though Victor had parked in a somewhat secluded spot, there was no guarantee they were completely alone.
Besides, this position—sitting on his lap—made Jessie feel a little uneasy.
It was a little too... intimate.
And a little too dangerous.
"Let’s kiss a while longer." As Victor spoke, he drew close to Jessie’s lips. His breath ghosted across her skin, tantalizingly close, carrying an indescribable, heated intimacy.
"You said a lot when you introduced Julian Grant today," Victor said. "But when you introduced me, you only used one sentence."
’Although that one sentence was worth more than a thousand others.’
Jessie was exasperated.
"Are you really keeping score?" She reached out and cupped the face before her. She had to admit, the bone structure in her palms was impeccable. It was as if every line and angle had been sculpted with the Creator’s personal bias, leaving him with sharp, distinct features and an incisive air. "So, what do you want then? How about this?"
As her words faded, she leaned in and kissed Victor’s lips.
’And wasn’t he the one seducing her in the first place?’
But compared to Victor’s deep kisses, hers was more of a light peck.
Like a little woodpecker, she held his face and peppered it with several quick kisses.
’But in Victor’s eyes, how could you even call that a kiss?’
So, the next time Jessie leaned in, he cupped the back of her head, not giving her the chance to pull away again after a fleeting touch.
The interior of the Cullinan was actually quite spacious and very comfortable, but right now, Jessie felt it was far too cramped.
She couldn’t withstand Victor’s assault and tried to pull back, but every time she retreated, he pursued.
Before she knew it, her lower back was pressed against the steering wheel, and Jessie couldn’t help but hiss in pain.
The moment she opened her mouth, Victor seized the opportunity, his tongue sweeping in to take control.
Just as Jessie was about to say it hurt, Victor placed a hand on her lower back. The back of his hand cushioned the very spot where the steering wheel had been digging into her. Then, with a firm press of his palm, he pulled the woman trying to escape back against him.
Jessie was left breathless by the kiss. She pushed against Victor’s chest, her head bowed as she gasped for air.
The heat from the large hand wrapped around her waist was so intense she felt like she was about to melt.
Victor wasn’t in much better shape. He felt the entire cabin was filled with Jessie’s scent, a fragrance so sweet it was almost cloying.
Her waist was so soft in his hand, soft enough that he wanted to forcefully bend her into him.
Lowering his head, Victor licked Jessie’s neck. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
He felt the woman in his arms tremble.
Victor couldn’t help but let out a low chuckle.
"Don’t..." Jessie’s voice trembled. She already felt insecure in this position, and now that Victor had nipped her neck, she nearly screamed. "It’ll leave a mark..."
She was wearing a spaghetti-strap top today. How could she possibly face anyone later?
It wasn’t nearly turtleneck season in Southaven yet.
But hearing Jessie’s whimpering voice only made Victor’s breathing grow heavier.
"If not your neck, then how about somewhere else?" he asked in a low voice.
Before Jessie could even ask where, she suddenly felt a faint, sharp pain on her chest.
Jessie: "!!!"
She wanted to scream, but in the end, she just clapped a hand to her mouth and bit her wrist, managing to stifle the sound.
’From the first moment he saw Jessie today, Victor had wanted to hide her away.’
’He couldn’t bear for anyone else to see her looking so beautiful.’
"...Aren’t you done yet?" Jessie was now sprawled against Victor’s chest, her body almost completely limp.
The man’s heavy breathing was right by her ear; it was impossible to ignore.
But even harder to ignore than the sound in her ear was his arousal, pressing against her through the thin fabric of her dress and his trousers.
Victor held Jessie tightly, as if trying to merge her into his very being.
"Just a little longer."
Victor’s voice sounded even deeper than usual, laced with suppression and restraint.
By the time Victor had finally calmed down, he had already wrapped Jessie in his suit jacket and placed her back in the passenger seat.
Jessie felt a little hot and tried to take off the jacket, but Victor was faster. He reached over, turning down the car’s air conditioning with one hand while using the other to pull the jacket tighter around her, making sure every inch of her skin was securely covered.
"Leave it on. Behave," Victor said in a low voice.
When her eyes met Victor’s, Jessie immediately turned her head, deliberately looking away.
Even at night, with no interior lights on, his eyes were still unnerving.
She couldn’t help but flinch away from his gaze.
’It felt as if lingering for even a second longer would get her sucked into their vortex, with no hope of escape.’
