Aísē: My Five Supernatural Wives-Chapter 115: So it was a Dream...
"Valerian!...Wake up!".
I groaned as a voice pierced through the haze of my dream, pulling me back to reality. My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself staring up at the familiar ceiling of my bedroom.
The warmth and passion of the previous night faded away, replaced by the cold, harsh light of morning."Valerian? Sigh! How long are you gonna sleep?" Mephistopheles’s annoyed tone snapped me fully awake.
I sat up abruptly, my heart racing as I took in my surroundings. Gone were the six beautiful faces of my wives, replaced by the annoyed visage of my demonic.... well friend I guess.
"So... It was a dream?" I muttured with a sigh...
Yeah how could I be with my wives when I am involved in this mess involving mages and demonic spirits...
Mephistopheles’s annoyance faded, replaced by a serious expression as she took away my bedsheet and threw it away.. "Very well," she said, her voice taking on a more commanding tone.
"If you’re ready to train, then let’s begin."She snapped her fingers, and suddenly the room was filled with an otherworldly energy. Shadows danced along the walls, and the air crackled with power.
"Today, we’ll focus on harnessing your demonic energy and learning the basics of magic as i believe you don’t know anything about it,"she instructed, circling around me like a predator stalking its prey.
"You need to learn to control it, to bend it to your will. Only then will you be able to truly tap into your potential as a hybrid of human and other five races."
Oh Training Yes...but by her way of calling me...hmmm
That reminded me...
"I think Hybrid is not the correct term" I muttured and said "I need to name myself something cool"
Mephistopheles paused in her pacing, turning to regard me with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh? And what would you suggest instead of ’hybrid’, then?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.
"Something cool, you say?" She crossed her arms, leaning against the wall as she waited for my response.
"Very well, I’m listening. Enlighten me with your brilliant idea." Her tone was teasing, but there was a underlying seriousness to her gaze - a reminder that whatever title I chose would be a reflection of the power and identity I claimed for myself.
To be honest I am still not sure.
About all this Supernatural, Magic, Demons, Heck I still don’t understand tthe didfference between Demons and Demonic spirits.
For me I am still.....
I took a deep breath, my gaze steady as I met Mephistopheles’s eyes. "I believe myself to still be human," I stated firmly.
"These other bloodlines - vampire, werewolf, incubus, warlock, elf or Druid - they’re simply forms I can shift into.
But my core identity remains human." I paused, considering my next words carefully.
"So, instead of a hybrid, I think I’ll call myself a.... Blood Archon, Ruler of these Bloodlines".
The term rolled off my tongue with a sense of conviction and pride.
"A being who can take on the aspects of various supernatural races, but whose identity isn’t defined by them."
Mephistopheles’s eyes widened slightly, a flicker of surprise crossing her features before she quickly masked it with a neutral expression.
"Are you sure about that, Valerian?" she asked, her voice carefully controlled.
"An Archon is the name given to beings who have ascended to the second phase of godhood. By claiming that title, you are essentially declaring yourself divine."She studied me intently, searching for any hint of hesitation or uncertainty in my gaze.
"Are you prepared for the responsibilities and expectations that come with such a lofty claim? The other races may not take kindly to a mere mortal asserting divinity."
I shrugged nonchalantly, a hint of a smirk tugging at the corners of my mouth.
"Ah,seriously? Figures," I muttered with a chuckle.
"Guess I can take the risk. It’s cool." He met Mephistopheles’s gaze steadily, his eyes shining with a newfound confidence and determination.
"Besides, if anyone has a problem with it, they can come talk to me about it. I’m not backing down from who I am or what I’ve become."
I straightened my shoulders, standing taller as I embraced my new identity fully.
"I am Valerian Aísē, the Blood Archon. Let them deal with it."
Mephistopheles gave a low, approving hum, the corner of her mouth curling into a sharp, delighted smile.
"Fine then, Blood Archon," she said, savoring the title as though tasting fine wine.
"Let’s begin your training." She stepped forward, heels clicking softly against the stone floor, and with a lazy flick of her wrist the bedroom dissolved around us.
The walls melted into a vast, circular chamber of black marble veined with crimson, lit only by floating orbs of violet flame.
In the center, a complex array of glowing runes hovered in mid-air, spinning slowly like a three-dimensional equation.
"Magic," she began, voice crisp and professorial, "is not wishful thinking. It is applied science. Every spell is a precise calculation: mass, velocity, energy transfer, dimensional constants, probability vectors. Get the math right once, and the result can be etched into your mind as a permanent formula. After that, casting is instantaneous."
She snapped her fingers.
A small sphere of pale fire ignited above her palm, perfectly stable.
"This is a basic ignition spell. The equation balances thermal energy output against atmospheric oxygen and local humidity. I solved it centuries ago, saved the answer here—" she tapped her temple "—and now I can conjure it without thought."
The flame winked out.
She turned to me, eyes gleaming."Your turn. We’ll start simple.
"A blank runic slate appeared in front of me, hovering at chest height, its surface already etched with the foundational symbols for heat generation." Calculate the exact amount of mana needed to raise the temperature of a one-meter cube of air by fifty degrees Celsius in this room’s current atmospheric conditions. Show your work in the runes.
When you’re confident, push the completed formula into the slate." She folded her arms, tail swaying lazily behind her.
"Take your time, Valerian. An Archon shouldn’t make mistakes."
-...-
I blinked, momentarily taken aback by Mephistopheles’s instruction.
"Ah, that’s complex for something basic," I muttered, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down my brow.
Before I could even think about searching for a notebook, Mephistopheles gestured sharply.
"Nuh-uh, no notebooks," she said firmly.
"You have to do this in your mind. Use the matrix you created that connects your neurons to your mana veins. That’s your canvas for calculations now."
I hesitated, glancing between her stern expression and the hovering runic slate.
Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and delved into my own mind, searching for the neural pathways that now pulsed with magical energy.
As I explored the intricate web of my mind, I could feel the mana veins pulsing with energy, intertwined with my neural pathways. It was a strange sensation, but I focused on it, trying to visualize the equations unfolding before me in this ethereal canvas.
"So what now?" I murmured aloud, my brow furrowed in concentration.
"Temperature and...what?" I knew I needed to calculate the required mana to raise the temperature of a one-meter cube of air by fifty degrees Celsius, but there were so many other factors to consider - atmospheric pressure, humidity, the specific heat capacity of air...My mind raced as I tried to piece together the complex formula.
An idea suddenly struck me, and I felt a flicker of hope.
"Maybe I could calculate it with my werewolf senses," I thought aloud, my eyes snapping open to meet Mephistopheles’s gaze.
She raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the suggestion.
"Go on," she prompted, her face had a curious look as she said "Show me how you’re gonna do it, Explain your thought process."
Hearing her approval I took a deep breath, focusing on the heightened senses that came with my werewolf blood.
"Well, as a werewolf, I can detect changes in temperature and air currents,"
I began, pacing back and forth in front of the runic slate.
"Maybe if I shift partially and use those senses, I can get a more intuitive understanding of the temperature change required."
I glanced at Mephistopheles, seeking her approval.
Mephistopheles shook her head, her expression stern.
"No, you need to be able to use your senses without transforming," she corrected me.
"Every werewolf should be able to do it." She stepped closer, her eyes piercing into mine. "Try using the Meridian Forge," she instructed, her voice taking on a commanding tone.
’I guess I can’t take the shortcut...’ I thought with a wry smile and nodded, closing my eyes once more.
I focused on the Meridian Forge within me, feeling the surge of vital energy coursing through my veins.
Slowly, I extended my senses outward, trying to perceive the temperature and atmospheric conditions around me with heightened clarity.
As I concentrated on the Meridian Forge and extended my senses, I felt a sudden surge of clarity wash over me.
The temperature and atmospheric conditions around me became eerily apparent, as if I could see the very molecules of air vibrating with heat.
"Yes, now it’s clear" I mumbled my eyes glowing in a subtle golden light.
