Chapter 99: Why is that saintess with Valerian?

Victor took the letter from Aisha, his eyes scanning the cryptic message."It certainly seems like a hint," he murmured,"but what does it mean?"He turned to Mariabelle, who was examining the letter with a furrowed brow."Mariabelle, any ideas?" he asked.

Mariabell shook her head slowly."It’s vague...but it sounds like it could be referring to a specific location," she said thoughtfully."Shadows dancing and secrets hiding... ancient stones whispering tales of power and betrayal..."She trailed off, snapping her fingers suddenly."Wait! I think I might know where this is referring to!"

"where?" Both Aisha and Victor asked simultanously.

Mariabelle’s eyes widened with excitement."The abandoned cathedral!" she exclaimed."It’s an old, crumbling building on the outskirts of the city. It’ssaid to be haunted by the spirits of those who were buried there centuries ago." She turned to Aisha and Victor, her face flushed with determination.

"I’ve heard rumors that there are hidden chambers beneath the cathedral, filled with ancient artifacts and forbidden knowledge. If anyone was trying to hide something...or someone...that would be the perfect place." Aisha nodded, a spark of hope igniting in her chest. "Then that’s where we’ll start looking," she said firmly.

"Let’s go. We don’t have a moment to lose." With renewed purpose, the trio set off towards the abandoned cathedral, their hearts racing with anticipation and fear of what they might find.

While Aisha and others searched for the traces of Valerian.

Back in the night kingdom the situation was gloomy.

Eleanor had deep dark circles in her eyes as she carefully read a report, But no matter how many times she read it it wasn’t changing. her hands shook as she stared into the content with a dark look.

Alicia on the other hand had an Almost lifeless expresssion as she kept knitting a sweater that was already too long for a human to wear.

The only one normal here was iris who was peacefully sleeping, despite the gloomy atmosphere.

Then suddenly a Magic circle Lit up in the Middle of the room and a woman appeared "Ahhh~ Finally free from that Hell" She exclaimed as she stretched her arms up, but her expression shifted as she didn’t spot the person she wanted to see the most.

"Hmmm" eleanor stopped reading the report she was reading and Alicia who was knitting a sweater paused as she saw who was back "Liliana" they muttured simultenously upon seeing the familiar succubus who was gone for a long while.

This made Iris stir up from her nap as she woke up with a yawn "yawn~ ah You are back Succubus"

Liliana didn’t say anything in response as her eyes searched for someone important "Where?" she said simply her eyes desperate and full of longing.

Eleanor let out a tired sigh at her words and said "He’s not here and, no! You can’t go where he is now, there is restrictions for supernaturals to enter there"

Liliana’s face fell as Eleanor’s words sank in, her earlier excitement draining away. "He’s... not here?" she repeated, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked around the room desperately, as if expecting Valerian to materialize out of thin air.

"But I thought... I was sure he would be back by now," she said, her eyes welling up with tears.

"It’s been so long since I’ve seen him..." Iris stood up from the couch and walked over to Liliana, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I know it’s hard, Liliana," she said softly. "But Eleanor is right. There are strict rules about supernaturals traveling to the human world without permission. "She glanced at Eleanor, who nodded in agreement. "We’re doing everything we can to bring him back safely," Eleanor added. "But it might take time. And little patience concerning he is in the mages Territory."

"Why is he There? I thought he was with sister? Why! How can you just let him" Liliana snapped her expression angry, no wonder no one trust the mages.

They are all crazy in the head after all.

Take Merlin for Example, that Bitch could just watch an Entire Kingdom fall without batting an eye despite raising The king of that said kingdom for ages.

Yeah mages aren’t the most Trustful bunch.

"Shut up Succubus we are trying our best!" Eleanor angrily retorted but Liliana wasn’t buying any of her words, She’s already too pent up so its impossible to reason with her.

Liliana’s eyes flashed with anger as she repeated her accusation, her voice rising."Like what I only see you guys lazing around!"shesnapped, gesturing wildly at Eleanor, Alicia, and Iris.

"You’re all supposed to be his wives, his partners in this...this mess!" She took a step closer to Eleanor, her chest heaving with emotion.

"And yet here you are, doing nothing while he’s out there gods know where, facing Who knows what dangers!" Eleanor’s face turned red with rage, but before she could retort, Alicia stood up from her seat and slapped Liliana across the face, her face dark and filled with anger.

Slapp!!

The sound echoed through the room like a gunshot.

Everyone froze in shock.

Liliana staggered back, a hand pressed to her burning cheek as she stared at Alicia in disbelief.

"How dare you," Alicia hissed, her voice low and dangerous. "You don’t understand how worried we are".

Iris gasped, her eyes wide with shock as she stared at Alicia.

"Alicia...you hit her," she whispered, as if unable to believe what had just happened.Eleanor looked equally stunned, her anger momentarily forgotten as she took in the scene before her.

Alicia stood trembling, her hand still raised, tears streaming down her face.

"I’m sorry," she choked out, "I didn’t mean to...it’s just..." She broke off, burying her face in her hands as sobs wracked her body.

"I’m so scared," she cried,"What if something happens to him? What if we never see him again?" The room fell silent, the weight of Alicia’s words hanging heavy in the air.

Even Liliana looked taken aback, her hand falling away from her cheek as she stared at Alicia with a mix of anger and sympathy. Iris hesitantly stepped forward and wrapped an arm around Alicia’s shaking shoulders. "Shh, it’s okay,"

Iris guided Alicia to the couch, sitting her down gently as she continued to comfort her. Eleanor and Liliana exchanged worried glances, the tension in the room palpable.

It wasn’t without reason that Valerian’s wives were so on edge, aside from Iris who maintained her unwavering faith in him.

Just a day prior, they had received disturbing information from their informant, hired to keep tabs on Valerian’s wellbeing.

But now, that informant had mysteriously vanished without a trace, leaving them all too worried and anxious for his safety.

Eleanor took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before speaking."We received news yesterday," she began slowly, "about Valerian. Our informant said he was in grave danger, that something was after him." She paused, swallowing hard before continuing. "And then the informant disappeared. No trace, no message, nothing."

Liliana frowned, her brow furrowing in confusion."But why is he there? What reason could he possibly have for going to the Mages Association?"she asked, looking to Eleanor for answers.

Eleanor sighed heavily, running a hand through her hair in frustration."It wasn’t his choice," she explained, "He received a formal invitation from the Mages Association. They insisted on his presence for some reason or another." She paused, her expression darkening.

"I don’t trust them, not after everything that’s happened. Butsomeone...reliable...was supposed to be accompanying him." Her voice trailed off, a note of worry creeping in."Aisha, She’s trained in combat and Holy Magic, she should have been able to protect him if anything went wrong." Eleanor’s fists clenched at her sides, "But something definitely did go wrong. Otherwise, the informant wouldn’t mysteriously dissappear. And Aisha..."

Eleanor paused her eyes flashed with a deep crimson glow, her voice dripping with venom as she spoke.

"I don’t trust that saintess bitch," she snarled ,"If Valerian got hurt because of her...because of any of them..." She trailed off, the killing intent radiating off her in palpable waves. Even Liliana, who was used to dealing with powerful beings, took a step back at the sheer intensity of Eleanor’s rage.

"I swear, if anything happens to him...if they let him get hurt..." Eleanor’s hands clenched into fists at her sides, her nails digging into her palms hard enough to draw blood.

"I will burn that entire association to the ground," she vowed, her voice low and dangerous.

"I will make them pay for every scratch, every bruise, every moment of fear he had to endure because of their incompetence or malice."

Iris rolled her eyes at Eleanor’s outburst, a small smirk playing on her lips."Ahh, there’s the reckless maiden in love I know and adore,"she teased, despite the seriousness of the situation.

"But I must admit, I don’t hate the idea of barging in there and giving those mages a piece of our minds."

But succubus’s confusion didn’t end, rather it intensified.

"Why is that saintess with Valerian?" Liliana asked completely clueless about what happened since her absence
