Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Watching the Love-Struck Brother Court Disaster (40)

Early in the morning, Xiaang Zheng was startled awake by a knocking at the door. He couldn’t let his mom answer, so he lazily opened it. Lan Yazhen stood at the door, to his surprise, "Why are you here?" πŸπ«π•–π—²π˜„πšŽπ—―π•Ÿπ¨π•§πžπš•.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Why can’t I come?" Lan Yazhen felt aggrieved, "Didn’t you say you’d help me with physics?"

"I thought you didn’t need it anymore." Xiaang Zheng stepped aside to let Lan Yazhen in, "You haven’t been around lately, so I thought you’d figured something out."

What solution, Xiaang Zheng didn’t spell it out, but he had a good ideaβ€”it probably involved Gu Jingkui.

"If I don’t come looking for you, you’d never contact me." Lan Yazhen was exhausted. Why did she like someone so clueless? But she just did.

"Why contact if there’s nothing to discuss?" Xiaang Zheng said straightforwardly. Truthfully, he saw no reason.

Lan Yazhen shot back in frustration and angrily took out her books, "Didn’t you promise to tutor me?"

"Let me wash my face and grab something to eat first." Xiaang Zheng headed to the bathroom to freshen up, then went to the kitchen to make breakfast. Before starting, he asked if Lan Yazhen had eaten.

Already upset, Lan Yazhen snapped, "I’m full."

Totally filled with anger by Xiaang Zheng. Nothing he said was pleasing.

Xiaang Zheng nodded, "Alright then."

If she’s full, then he’d only make enough for himself and his mom, none for her. Making extra would just go to waste; leftover breakfast wasn’t as good the next time around.

With breakfast ready, Xiaang Zheng ate alone, his mom still asleep, her breakfast kept warm in the pot.

Lan Yazhen bit her lip, glaring at Xiaang Zheng. Did he really not prepare a portion for her?

"Why are you watching me?" Xiaang Zheng looked up, "You can start looking at your notes, mark anything unclear. It’ll speed up our session, and we can focus on your weaknesses."

Lan Yazhen was close to biting her lip through. Could he not see she hadn’t had breakfast? Just because she said she was full, he took her at her word?

The smell of delicious breakfast wafted to her, and she grew hungrier, regretting not eating before rushing out.

"Have you marked everything?" At some point, Xiaang Zheng had finished and started tutoring beside Lan Yazhen.

Her stomach growled loudly, and Xiaang Zheng hadn’t noticed at all. If it were Brother Gu, he’d have ordered food by now.

But she genuinely didn’t like Brother Gu; they just weren’t meant to be. Sometimes liking someone is so odd; the person you like has nothing going for them, yet you just like them.

"By the way, did you resolve that issue with your school? I checked around, the school’s not great, but you’d be there for half a year only. It won’t impact your exams."

Lan Yazhen: "No need."

"Oh, so you’ve resolved it." Xiaang Zheng understood, saying no more.

Lan Yazhen pursed her lips, staying silent. She only needed to study hard for this last half year, then everyone would see her get into a decent school, silencing them all.

Lan Yazhen hugged her books heading home, stopping in a nearby alley as she saw someone at the entrance. "Gu Qianyan, what are you doing here?"

"I heard you can stay on at Tenglann High School." Qiann Yan stood up straight. She came to remind Lan Yazhen to stay consistent in her high standards and not be two-faced. "I was curious if Tenglann High School had turned charitable, so I asked around."

A bad feeling rose in Lan Yazhen as she heard Qiann Yan say, "Turns out Gu Jingkui paid your tuition."
