Chapter 100: Cross, Returns.

**Isabella**

I paced around the living room with Nathan in my arms, his cute small body pressed against mine. But my mind was anything but calm.

Razor and the others had been gone for what felt like an eternity. Each minute without them home made me more restless and worried. I needed them back, safe and sound.

As if sensing my unease, Lisa approached from the hallway. "Isabella," she began, "I heard from Felicia about everything. I’m sure Razor will succeed, don’t worry."

I nodded, trying to believe her words. "I hope so too, Lisa. I just... I just need them back."

She drew a loud, heavy sigh. "I messed up, Isabella. Cross is probably going to hate me for what I did."

I walked over to her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Don’t say that, Lisa," I told her, giving her a sad smile. What’s important is that you recognize what you did was wrong."

Lisa looked up at me, her eyes filling with tears. "I just... I thought I was doing the right thing."

"I know, Lisa. But sometimes, the things we do end up hurting others. All we can do is learn from our mistakes and try to make things right."

Lisa nodded, wiping away her tears. "I’ll do whatever it takes to make things right with Cross. I just hope he can forgive me."

I squeezed her hands reassuringly. "He’s a good person, Lisa. I’m sure he’ll understand, eventually."

Just then, Kelsey entered the room. Her eyes met mine, and I could feel the tension in the air. Without a word, she turned and headed to her room, her movements filled with silent disdain.

Lisa watched her go, confusion written on her face. "Who is she?" she asked, gesturing towards Kelsey’s retreating figure.

"That’s Kelsey. She is Felicia’s niece," I explained. "But... she doesn’t seem to like me."

Lisa frowned, a look of sympathy crossing her features. "I’m sorry, Isabella. She shouldn’t be treating you like that."

I scoffed with an eye roll. "It’s fine. I don’t like bitch either."

After my conversation with Felicia in the garden, I had promised not to confront Kelsey about the berries. Felicia had begged me to give her time to talk to her niece, and I had reluctantly agreed. But as the days passed without any word from Felicia, my patience was wearing thin.

I’m still waiting to hear from Felicia about their talk. But I’ve got my eyes set on Kelsey. I won’t let her get away if she’s guilty.

The screeching of tires outside the house alerted us to Razor’s return. My heart leaped with joy as I ran out of the living room, Nathan in my arms, and waited anxiously for the car door to open.

I watched as Razor emerged from the car, carrying Cross on his back. Relief flooded through me at the sight of them both, safe and sound. "Bless the moon goddess," I whispered as they approached the door.

"I’m so happy, Razor," I said as they reached me, a smile spreading across my face. But as I looked closer, I noticed a hint of worry in Razor’s eyes.

"Is he okay?" I asked, pointing to Cross, who was passed out on Razor’s back.

Razor nodded. "He’ll be fine."

"Then what’s the matter?" I asked, my anxiety growing.

Razor motioned for me to follow him inside. "Let’s go inside first," he said quietly.

I followed him into the house, my heart pounding with a mixture of relief and fear. Did something happen out there? And why did Razor look so worried?

As I followed Razor upstairs, I noticed that Lisa was nowhere to be seen. I guess she was avoiding Cross, afraid to confront him after what had happened. If only she knew that poor Cross was passed out.

Razor led me into a new room, which I guessed was set aside for Cross. Dean quickly rushed in after us.

"Boss, I’ve called Solomon. He’ll be here shortly," Dean informed Razor.

Razor nodded, his fingers gently caressing Cross’s bruised face. I could tell he missed his brother deeply, and it must have pained him to see him in this state.

I walked up beside Razor, standing by the bed. "He’ll be fine, Razor. I promise."

Razor didn’t say anything, but he gently held my hand, his eyes slightly narrowed. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

As I looked at Cross up close, I was devastated by the extent of his injuries. That fucking bastard Tom had really done a number on him. I swore to myself that he would pay for what he had done.

Razor looked up at Nathan, who was gurgling happily in my arms. "I’m so glad you’re both okay," he smiled.

Just then, Dean came back. "He’s here, boss," he announced and ushered in a young man.

"Greetings, boss," the man bowed respectfully. Razor waved off the formalities, urging him to hurry up and check on Cross.

Solomon, though a good doctor, was not quite as skilled as John. I wondered briefly why John wasn’t here instead, but I figured something must have come up.

After examining Cross for a few minutes, Solomon turned to Razor. "Cross’s wounds are deep, but they are treatable," he said. Razor let out a sigh of relief at the news.

"I’m going to treat him now. It will take some time, but he’ll be alright." He added.

Razor thanked Solomon and rose from the bedside. He instructed Dean to watch over Cross and then began to walk out of the room. I handed Nathan to Dean and followed after him, worried sick because deep down, I knew something was off.

"What’s wrong?" I asked him softly as I caught up to him.

Razor shook his head slowly, his expression troubled. But when he realized that I wasn’t going to back down, he sighed. "Chris has been taken by Tom."

My heart caught in my chest at the news. "How... how did it happen?" I asked in a shaky voice.

Razor shook his head again. "I don’t know. When Dean called Chris’s number, that bastard Tom picked up and confirmed that he had him."

This was fucked up. We had succeeded in getting Cross back, only to lose Chris in the process.

"What are we going to do about it, Razor?" I asked, tears slipping down my cheeks. Over the past year, I had gotten to know Chris more. He was an orphan, a mere omega whom Razor had taken a liking to and helped. I knew this was probably hard on Razor right now.

"I wish I had an answer to that," Razor lamented bitterly. Seeing my husband like this broke my heart. The man who always seemed to have everything under control wasn’t so confident anymore. "Let’s just hope he doesn’t kill Chris,’’ he added.

"How many more people does that bastard need to kill before he stops?" I spat angrily. "I’m going to make him pay for killing my parents, torturing Cross and Chris..."

I couldn’t complete the words as I burst into tears. Razor pulled me into a hug, his hand rubbing my back slowly. "It’s alright, baby," he whispered. "It’s going to be alright... I promise."

The next morning, Cross still hadn’t regained consciousness. It wasn’t until after breakfast that Dean came to inform me he was awake. Razor was absent, having gone to investigate what happened concerning Chris and the others the night before.

I arrived at Cross’s room with Nathan in my arms. Cross was sitting upright on the bed, and his face lit up in a smile as soon as he saw me. "I can’t believe it’s actually you, Isabella," he said, clearly elated to see me. His joy warmed my heart. "And this must be my little nephew," he added, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Nathan. His name is Nathan," I confirmed, passing my baby to him to carry. "Be careful, you’re not fully healed."

"It’s fine," he said joyously, bouncing Nathan up and down on his body. "He’s so beautiful, Isabella. He looks like my brother."

"That’s what everyone says," I chuckled, happy to see him bonding with Nathan. "How are you feeling?"

"Well, it depends," he replied with a grin. "My heart feels grateful to be here and all, but my body feels like a train wreck."

"Spoken like Cross," I teased, and he burst out laughing before drawing a pained breath.

"Take it easy, alright? I don’t want Razor to be mad at me," I said with a humorous eye roll.

"Where did he even go?" Cross asked. I figured they hadn’t told him about Chris yet, so I decided not to either.

"To take care of something important, I guess," I replied, forcing out a smile and hoping he didn’t suspect anything.

"I guess it’s very important..." Cross trailed off, his eyes darkening with rage. I followed his gaze and saw Lisa standing by the door.

I was confused. Why was he looking at her so angrily? I thought he wasn’t aware of her real identity.

After a few seconds of intense silence, he spoke up. "What are you doing here, you betrayer?"

"Cross, I...," Lisa began, but he cut her off.

"I don’t want to hear anything from your lying mouth," he spat out. "I don’t even know how to address you. Is it Kira or Lisa?"

"I can explain, please..."

"Shut up!" he yelled, but suddenly he began to groan in pain, holding his ribs. I quickly carried Nathan and told Lisa to get Solomon right now.
