Chapter 116: The Gathering.

**Tom**

"You’re all welcome," I announced to Alpha Carl and the other alphas. "I’ve been expecting you all."

"Alpha Tom, we encountered a little hassle on the way," Carl explained, a hint of irritation in his voice. "But it’s all been settled. I also came with some of the elders."

"Welcome, my esteemed elders," I said, bowing slightly to show my respect.

"We’ve heard great things about this wolf extractor from Alpha Carl," one of the elders said cautiously."But recently, he told us that you encountered some setbacks?"

"Yes, yes," I chuckled, trying to ease the tension in the room. "But you see, it’s been rectified. There’s nothing to be worried about."

The elders exchanged skeptical glances, but I could see a few nods of approval. They were eager, hungry for power just like me, but they needed reassurance.

"Would you care to see a demonstration?" I offered, gesturing towards the lab doors. "I believe seeing is believing, and I want to put all your minds at ease."

The alphas and elders murmured in agreement, and I led them down the hall towards the lab. The sterile smell of antiseptic mixed with the faint, metallic scent of blood filled the air.

"Behold," I said, spreading my arms wide. "The key to our ultimate power."

Jason stood by the wolf extractor device, looking nervous but determined. I gave him a nod, and he began the demonstration. The elders watched intently as the machine whirred to life, extracting the wolf gene of a captured werewolf swiftly.

"As you can see," I continued, "the minor setbacks were nothing we couldn’t handle. Our process is now more efficient than ever."

"Impressive," one of the elders muttered, his eyes wide with fascination. "And the... side effects?"

"Minimized," I assured them, although it wasn’t entirely true. "Our latest enhancements ensure the stability and control of the extracted genes."

The alphas and elders nodded, some more convinced than others, but none willing to voice their doubts openly.

"Now, let us discuss the final phase of our plan," I said, leading them back to the conference room. "Tonight, we take the next step in securing our dominance."

As the group settled in, I felt a surge of satisfaction. The power, the control—it was all within my fucking grasp. But there was still one loose end to tie up.

"Alpha Carl, if I may have a word?" I said, motioning for him to stay behind as the others filed out.

Carl raised an eyebrow but complied, waiting until we were alone. "What is it, Tom?"

"There’s a problem," I began urgently. "Uhmm, we might encounter some problems."

Alpha Carl’s jaw clenched. "What do you mean by that, Tom?"

"Keep your voice down," I warned him. "Look, most of the failed experiments were from genes taken from omegas or similar." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"What about alpha genes?" Carl pressed.

"Great! But you see, we don’t have enough alpha genes."

"What the fuck!" Carl cursed under his breath. "What about those Razor kids you’ve got inside your dungeon?"

"Chris and Tara?" I raised an eyebrow. "They’re not alphas. Tara is the daughter of James, who was originally a beta before he became an alpha. But she’s no alpha."

"But they’re no omegas?"

"Yes, yes," I gave him a look. "But they’re mine. I’m going to extract their genes for me."

"So how many alphas are we talking about?" Carl asked, exasperated.

"One."

"Just one?" He looked mortified. "What are we going to tell the other alphas and elders?"

"Keep your fucking voice down," I gritted my teeth. "It’s not my fault. We can’t just go around Upperville taking alphas; it would have been chaotic."

"What about outside Upperville?"

"Well, we tried, but they tightened their hold against us."

"What the fuck am I going to tell the other elders?" Carl cried out.

"Relax," I said, looking around curiously before leaning into his ear. "We’re going to have to sacrifice some of the other alphas for the elders."

"Are you insane?" he retorted, trying to keep his voice down. "Are you saying we betray them?"

"Look, do you want to be powerful or not?" I asked. "Then we have to make this sacrifice."

"What are we going to tell the other alphas and elders who are not here when they ask what happened?"

"We’ll figure that out," I said. "Now go try and brief the other elders while I get everything ready."

Carl nodded but didn’t make a move.

"Look, Alpha Carl, we’d better do this. If we don’t, best believe we don’t stand a chance against Razor."

"Alright," he replied with a frown before walking out of the lab.

Now I just have to go get Tara and Chris.

I made my way to the dungeon. The sounds of distant growls and chains rattling echoed through the stone walls. When I reached the heavy iron door, I took a deep breath before pushing it open.

Inside, Tara and Chris were shackled to the wall, their eyes tired and weary

"Tom," Chris’s voice was hoarse. "What do you want?"

"I need your fucking wolf genes," I replied coldly. "Your power. And you’re going to give it to me, whether you like it or not."

Chris struggled against his chains, trying to break free. "You’ll pay for this, Tom. My alpha will come for you."

I laughed, shaking my head. "Razor won’t be able to save you. By the time he realizes what’s happened, it’ll be too late."

With a nod to the guards, they moved forward, preparing to take Tara and Chris to the extraction chamber. As they were dragged out, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of doubt. This was a risky move, but it was the only way to secure the power we needed.

**Isabella**

I paced around the living room, growing more anxious by the minute. My thoughts were spiraling, and my hands were shaking. How could everything feel so uncertain?

"Are you alright, Isabella?" Lisa asked, walking up to me.

"No, Lisa," I breathed sharply. "I’m not. In fact, I’m losing it."

"Calm down, okay?"

"No, I can’t," I shook my head vehemently. "My husband is about to go out there, and I’m..."

"Worried," she interrupted softly, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder.

I stopped pacing, my eyes meeting hers. "Yes, I’m worried. What if something goes wrong? What if..." My voice trailed off, unable to finish the thought.

"Listen to me, Isabella," Lisa said firmly. "Alpha Razor is strong, and he knows what he’s doing. He has been through worse and come out on top."

"But this is different," I argued. "The stakes are higher, and there are so many unknowns. I can’t just sit here and do nothing."

"I know," she nodded, her expression softening. "But you need to trust him. He needs you to be strong, too. If you fall apart, it won’t help anyone."

I sighed, nodding my head . She was right, but that didn’t make it any easier. "I just... I don’t know how to stay calm when I feel so helpless."

"Take it one moment at a time," Lisa advised. "Focus on what you can control. Breathe. And remember, you’re not alone. We’re all here, and we’re all in this together."

I nodded slowly, trying to take her advice to heart. "Thank you, Lisa."

"We’re a team," she smiled. "We look out for each other. Now, why don’t we sit down and have some tea? It might help calm your nerves."

"No, no, Lisa, I don’t want tea," I said, shaking my head in frustration.

Just then, the door to the study opened, and Razor’s men began trooping out. I quickly strode over and saw Dean at the door.

"Woah, Luna, please, you can’t go in," he said, blocking my path. "The boss is still in there with some people."

"I know, but I need to see him before he leaves," I insisted, trying to push past him. "Just let me in."

"I’m sorry, Luna."

"What’s going on?" Razor’s voice cut through the tension.

I looked up and saw him standing at the door with Alpha Kane and another man.

Dean knelt down instantly. "I’m sorry for disturbing you, sir. Luna wanted to come in, but I told her to wait."

Razor sighed, glancing at me. The intensity of his gaze made me lower my eyes.

"This is my wife, Isabella," he introduced me to the man before pulling me to him. "Isabella, this is my ally, Alpha Louis. You’re already familiar with Alpha Kane."

"Hello, Luna Isabella," Alpha Louis greeted with a smile. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, Alpha Louis," I returned the smile before nodding at Alpha Kane, who also nodded back with a smile.

"Alright, I’ll be with you all in a minute," Razor said before pulling me inside the study.

I quickly buried my head in his chest. "Please... don’t go."

"Isabella," he called softly, holding me close. "I’ll be fine, I promise."

"Are you sure, sir?" I raised my chin to look at him, my eyes searching his eyes for reassurance.

He cupped my face gently, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "Yes, my love. I need you to trust me. This is something I have to do."

"But what if something happens to you?" My voice trembled with fear.

"Nothing will happen," he said firmly. "I’ve planned everything down to the last detail. Alpha Kane and Alpha Louis are with me. We won’t fail."

I nodded, though my heart still raced with anxiety. "I just... I can’t bear the thought of losing you."

"You won’t," he promised, kissing my forehead tenderly. "And when this is all over, you’ll have me all to yourself."

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "Alright. But you have to promise me you’ll come back."

"I promise," he said, holding me tightly. "Now, go back to Nathan. Stay safe and keep strong. I’ll be back before you know it."

I nodded, reluctantly stepping back. "I love you."

"I love you too," he replied, giving me one last, lingering kiss before turning to rejoin the others.
