Chapter 128: Razor?

**Isabella**

"Nathan! Nathan!" I called, searching all over the crowded beach. Where the hell is this boy? If only he had met his wolf, I would have been able to trace his scent easily.

What am I going to do if anything happens to my son? I swear I’ll die. After losing my parents...my husband...and now my son?

"Nathan!" I cried out, drawing attention from some people. I was in tears, confused, not knowing what to do. Did he leave the beach?

My instinct told me to go back to the spot where he disappeared. Quickly, I ran there, but it was empty. Devastated, I fell on the sand, crying. Suddenly, a hand touched my shoulder. I turned around and saw him.

"Nathan!" I pulled him close, crushing him in a tight hug. "My baby, you’re okay...thank the moon goddess."

"I’m sorry."

"Nathan, where did you run off to?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm despite my racing heart.

"I saw a beautiful bird, Mommy," his eyes widened with excitement. "I ran after it but then I got lost."

I sighed. "How many times have I warned you to stop chasing eagles, Nathan?"

He looked down, shuffling his feet in the sand. "I’m sorry, Mommy."

"How did you find your way back?" I asked, curious and still a bit anxious.

Nathan’s face lit up with excitement. "A very tall and handsome man helped me. He told me not to worry and brought me back to the beach."

A chill ran down my spine. "Did he say anything else?"

"Yes, he asked me my name. I told him, and I also told him your name," Nathan said, looking up at me.

I raised an eyebrow. "My name? Nathan, when did you start trusting strangers?"

"He’s not a stranger, Mommy. He helped me get back."

"And where is he now?" I asked, scanning the beach.

Nathan looked around, his small face scrunched up in concentration. "I don’t know. But he was close by. I wanted you to meet him." He pouted, clearly disappointed.

"Yeah, I would have thanked him for helping you," I sighed. "Come on, let’s go back to the hotel."

"What about the ice cream?" Nathan asked, his eyes lighting up at the thought.

"Well, I threw it on the ground while I was searching for you," I admitted, shaking my head. "Come on, let’s go get another one."

Nathan smiled and held my hand. We walked to the kiosk together, but I kept thinking about the man who helped my son..

"There you go," I said, helping Nathan with his PJs before carrying him to bed. He quickly sat up, and I noticed he was sulking. He had been since he took a bath.

"Is anything wrong, baby?" I sat down beside him. "Why are you sad?"

"I wish Daddy was alive...I didn’t even get to know him."

"Yes, you did." I held his hands gently. "But you were still a pup. He did love you so much, Nathan."

Nathan sniffed, wiping his eyes. "Then why did he die? Why did he leave us?"

A pang shot through my heart. How was I supposed to answer that question? Five years ago, after receiving that news from Dean, I had been so devastated and in denial.

"But how did he die? You’ve refused to tell me."

"Because you’re still young, Nathan."

"No, I’m not... I’m five, Mommy."

I deliberated for a few seconds if I should or shouldn’t. "Alright...I’ll tell you. Your father was ambushed by his uncle Tom and a man named Cain. Along with their men, they killed him."

"And where are those men?"

"They ran away, Nathan. Nobody has seen them since then."

"You always said Daddy was strong. How did they manage to kill him?"

"He was overpowered, and..." I couldn’t tell Nathan that while in wolf form, Dean saw them rip Razor apart. There was literally nothing left of his remains.

"Mommy, please don’t cry. I’m sorry for bringing it up." Nathan’s little arms came around my neck.

"I’m fine, baby, don’t mind me," I breathed a watery sigh. "Maybe tomorrow we can take a walk and clear our minds."

"Okay, Mommy."

The next day, Nathan and I took a walk down the street, glancing around and taking in our surroundings. After a while, we went to a five-star restaurant to have lunch.

"Are you enjoying your meal, baby?"

"Yes, Mommy," Nathan’s green eyes lit up as he took another bite from his seafood pasta.

I watched him eat, marveling at the striking resemblance to Razor. He was truly his father’s carbon copy, and it made my heart swell with a bittersweet mixture of pride and sorrow. Nathan’s dark hair fell in soft waves around his face, just like Razor’s used to, and his expressions, so intense, mirrored the ones that had once captivated me.

"You really like that pasta, huh?" I smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from his forehead.

"It’s delicious! You should try some, Mommy." He held out a forkful of pasta towards me, and I chuckled, leaning in to take a bite.

"Mmm, you have good taste, Nathan," I smiled. "Just like your daddy."

Nathan’s face brightened at the mention of his father. "Thank you Mommy."

We finished our meal, and we got up from our table. I was sorting out some bills with the waiter when I felt Nathan tugging at my gown.

"What is it, baby?" I asked him curiously.

"It’s that man, Mommy. There he is," he pointed at a group of men going out of the restaurant, but I couldn’t tell who he was talking about. Neither did I see their faces.

Before I knew it, Nathan ran after them. I quickly finished with the waiter and went after my son.

"Nathan, slow down, please... Nathan!"

I followed him outside as he entered a building opposite the restaurant. Immediately inside the hall, I was appalled to see some intimidating-looking men. Now what fucking trouble has Nathan gotten us into?

"Who the hell are you?" One of them asked, eyeing me from head to toe.

"My son, he ran inside," I kept my voice steady and made sure I showed no fear. "I want to see my son."

Thankfully, Nathan ran out from the hallway, beaming with happiness.

"It’s my mommy! Come see her. I told you she was beautiful."

I looked up behind him, and my jaw instantly dropped in shock.

"Razor?"
