Chapter 76: A Baby.

**Razor**

"So, what’s the situation over there?" I asked Dean, glancing at my phone.

"Some of the alphas are still skeptical about joining our side. They don’t want to get on Beta Tom’s bad side," Dean replied.

"Is that so," I scoffed, resting my back on the chair. "I guess they need a reminder of who the hell they’re playing with. But before that, what is that bastard Tom up to?"

"He’s not been out of the pack house in months, boss," Dean said, shaking his head slightly. "But there’s the alpha’s conference coming up in two months’ time. He’s expected to be in attendance."

"This is likely my chance to put an end to all this. I could attack his men while he’s away and save my brother. But something seems weird... I just think that bastard might decline to attend that conference."

"What about the Red Water Pack?" I asked Dean.

"They’re hanging on, sir, but it’s not been easy. Beta Tom has stationed his men around there and laid siege to the pack."

"His men?" I gave a scornful laugh. "Those are my men who are acting on Tom’s orders."

"I’m sorry, boss. I didn’t mean..."

"It’s not your fault, Dean. Neither is it their fault. They have no choice but to follow Tom’s orders."

I tugged at my tie, loosening it a bit. "Tell Felicia to bring me a cup of coffee."

"Yes, sir," he nodded and exited the office.

I really hoped I was doing the right thing. If something goes wrong, my little brother Cross will be the one to pay the price, and I’ll never forgive myself.

At that time, I was so focused on finding Isabella that I mobilized most of my men, leaving the pack vulnerable. I didn’t know somebody would dare to mess with me. I regret it; I shouldn’t have left my brother unprotected. Since then, I have not known peace.

As the knock sounded, I invited the person in, not surprised to see Kelsey walk in with a cup of coffee.

"Hello, boss," she greeted, gently placing the cup on the table. "I brought you your coffee. Do you need anything else?" she asked, smoothing her hands over her dress, probably trying to seduce me.

"What the fuck do you think you’re doing, Kelsey?" I glared at her, my patience wearing thin.

She recoiled slightly from my harsh tone, fondling her dress. "I know you asked my aunt to bring that coffee herself, but I just wanted to bring it myself."

I was so fucking tired of her. She seemed to believe that one day I’ll fall for her, and it was fucking hilarious. I was done with mates, marriage, and anything that had to do with love.

"Fine," I gestured at the door, "you’ve given me the coffee. You can fucking leave right now."

"Yes, sir," she muttered under her breath before dragging her damn feet out of my office.

She was a nice girl, beautiful, smart, but she wasn’t her... nobody will ever be Isabella.

During the evening, I took some of my men and headed straight to Alpha Carl’s pack. I needed to speak to him concerning Tom. Thankfully, when we arrived, he was in his house, training with his teenage son outside, who surprisingly had grown taller since the last time I saw him.

I’ve always dreamt of training and showing the ropes to either my son or daughter, but that dream was fucking over. It ended the very day Isabella decided to leave.

"Alpha Razor, what a pleasant surprise," he began to walk up to me after sending his son inside the house.

"Hello, Alpha Carl, longest time," I shook his hand, which he extended to me.

"Look, I heard everything that happened at your pack, and I wanted to say, I’m not in support of what your Beta and uncle Tom did."

"I’m glad you’re on my side, but I need your help to get Tom out of my pack. I mean shouldn’t he be punished or something for the nonsense he pulled?"

He sighed. "I don’t know about that."

"Carl, I need your support on this. Tom’s actions are threatening the peace and stability of not just my pack, but the entire region. We can’t let him continue like this," I tried to reason with him.

"I understand, Razor, but getting involved in pack politics isn’t something I want to do right now. I have my own pack to think about," he replied, avoiding my gaze. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"Carl, this isn’t just about pack politics. Tom is dangerous, and if we don’t stop him now, he’ll only cause more harm. Please, I need your help," I insisted, hoping to appeal to his sense of duty as an alpha.

"I’m sorry, Razor, but I can’t," he said firmly, turning away.

I felt frustrated and disappointed. I had hoped that Carl would understand the seriousness of the situation and stand with me. But it seemed that he was more concerned about his own interests than the safety of our packs.

"So, this is what I fucking get for ridding Upperville of that bastard Damon?" I snapped, making him freeze in his steps.

Turning around, he narrowed his eyes slightly. "Yes, you did save us from that fucking damn Mafia, but the other alphas are still not happy about what you did to Alpha Elon."

"Alpha Elon?" I asked in a deep, low voice. "That bastard fucking betrayed us! If anything, they should be glad I helped them get rid of that fucking fool."

"I know, but it’s not in my place," he defended himself, which only made me more furious.

"Don’t give me that fucking crap, Carl. You’re very influential and you know it."

"I’m sorry, Razor..." He shook his head slowly before walking away.

I couldn’t fucking believe that after everything I did for these fools, they were all on board with that bastard Tom. What did he do to make them take his side? Honestly, I had the urge to go on a fucking killing spree, but the only person stopping me was Cross.

I needed some time to unwind and calm myself, so I decided to go to one of my clubs downtown. I ordered drinks and drank some with Dean. Usually, we were three, but Chris had to go and betray me with that bitch Tara, who had managed to vanish into thin air.

The manager of the club came into the VIP room, bowing his head in greeting. "Boss, would you like some entertainment?"

"Entertainment?" I mused, twirling the glass around my fingers. "Bring them in," I ordered, surprising both him and Cross.

Ever since Isabella left, I haven’t entertained any such things... I didn’t see the need. After a moment, the manager arrived with two tall and curvy ladies, but I was turned off by the color of their hair. They reminded me of her.

"Get out!" I snapped, looking away. But they were still standing there, looking confused as hell. "Are you deaf? Get out!" The force of which I spoke made the two of them jump, dashing out of the room.

"Why did you bring me blond bitches?" I spat angrily at the manager. "Weren’t you aware I didn’t fuck with them?"

The man knelt down in front of me. "I’m sorry, boss. I’ll be more careful. Should I go get others?"

Honestly, brunette, blond, or whatever, I wasn’t quite interested in any of that. I dropped the empty glass on the table and took out a cigarette from my pocket. Dean immediately stood up and lit it up.

"That won’t be necessary," I sighed, taking a puff from the cigarette. "Let’s go." I motioned for Dean to follow me.

We walked through the club, heading for the exit, suddenly my eyes caught sight of Kelsey trying to ward off a drunk bastard. From his movements alone, I knew he was a mere human. I froze, observing the frenzy attentively. The bastard was persistent, and Kelsey appeared a little drunk from the way she was staggering. I had to intervene or something might go wrong. She might lose control and probably shift into her wolf form.

I quickly made my way over to them, grabbing the man by the collar and pulling him away from Kelsey. "That’s enough," I growled, my eyes flashing with anger.

The man stumbled back, clearly frightened by my presence. "I-I’m sorry, I didn’t mean any harm," he stuttered, trying to compose himself.

"Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind," I warned, not taking my eyes off him.

He didn’t need to be told twice. He turned and practically ran out of the club.

I turned to Kelsey, who was looking at me with wide eyes. "Are you alright?" I asked, concerned.

She nodded, still a little shaken. "Y-yes, thank you, boss," she replied, her voice slightly slurred from the alcohol. "I’m sorry sir."

"Let’s go home," I replied, walking away without glancing at her. From the corner of my eye, I saw her fall into step beside me, but I didn’t acknowledge her presence.

After thirty minutes, we arrived at the mansion. Felicia immediately rushed to the entrance to greet me.

"Welcome, boss," her voice shook slightly as she spoke. "There’s something you need to see."

My brows knitted together, a little confused. What was she talking about? Footsteps echoed, and my eyes moved up, landing on Chris’s face... What the fuck! My anger flared at his side, only to freeze when my eyes settled on the person behind him.

"Isabella," my voice was cold but a whisper. "What are you..." I trailed off when I saw her hands... She was carrying a baby. A fucking baby!
