Alpha's Hidden Precious Luna-Chapter 92
Kai POV
I stretched lazily, slowly coming awake.
This was the best sleep I’ve had in a long while. As I yawned and stretched some more, my initial grogginess faded making me notice a soft and steady breathing beside me. Turning my head, I was shocked to see Lily lying beside me. Her hair was spread across the pillow, she looked like a baby in her sleep.
I closed my eyes trying to remember when she came in, then slowly, everything came to me. She welcomed me last night and told me she made my favourite meal. Sighing, I reached out to push back a strand of hair on her face.
She looked so serene, so perfect, that my heart gave an unexpected lurch.
My wolf – Hud stirred within me as a primal need surged through me urging me to pull her closer and bury myself in her scent. The thought of that alone was intoxicating but I clenched my fist and forced myself to take a deep breath. This wasn’t the right time – not when I was battling my own uncertainties and hidden memories.
Sliding carefully to the edge of the bed, I swung my legs over the side, hoping to leave without waking her. I didn’t want her to see the conflict raging inside me, I wasn’t ready to face her yet. Just as I stood, a soft murmur stopped me in my tracks.
“Kai?”
I turned, finding her staring at me with drowsy eyes. A small smile spread across her lips and I felt my resolve crumble. There was no escaping now.
“You’re awake,” I said softly, sitting back down. “You were sleeping so peacefully; I didn’t want to disturb you.”
She stretched languidly, the blanket slipping slightly off her shoulders, exposing the top of her breast barely being held by the lacy gown she had on. I swallowed hard, feeling Hud rumbling with approval at the sight.
“You were going to leave without saying goodbye? You barely said a word to me last night too and you just want to leave?” she queried.
“I’m sorry dear,” I tried not to stare at her thighs which had become visible now. The gown had bumped almost to her waist and she had nothing underneath. “I thought you might want to sleep in.”
“Well, I’m awake now,” she said teasingly. Her hand reached out to touch my arm, her fingers brushing my skin slightly, sending electricity through me. “Are you okay? Did I do something? You’ve seemed... distant lately.”
My chest tightened. I didn’t want to talk about the chaos in my mind – not now, not when her touch was grounding me in a way nothing else could.
“Don’t say that baby, you’ve done nothing wrong, I’ve just been so preoccupied with work. I’m sorry if I’ve been distant.”
She pouted and Hud went crazy. I wanted to tell her not to worry about a thing but I found myself leaning down, my lips capturing hers in a slow, deliberate kiss. She gasped softly but didn’t pull away, her hand sliding up to the back of my neck, drawing me closer.
“Just a kiss!” I whispered in my head.
But the kiss deepened, our breaths mingling as the room seemed to shrink around us. My hands slipped to her waist, grabbing her nape to ravage her lips even deeper. I slip my hand under her dress, to touch her bare skin, skimming over her dripping womanliness and rubbing her so hard until a small whimper escapes her lips.
“Oh...” she moaned. “Please don’t stop.”
Unable to hold back, I slide in, kissing the top of her shoulders, and positioning her hips to take my strokes. I work her from behind, trying to rein in Hud’s driving passion from not being with his mate for a while.
She moaned, and cried and moaned again, making all sorts of love confession to me. I feel the familiar rush of excitement pooling inside me and I flip her over, so she is facing me. I tucked myself between her legs, leaning down for her lips again.
“Moon,” I drawled. “You’re so beautiful.”
She groans and throws her head backwards, whining her waist faster. I gritted my teeth, trying not to get distracted by her jiggling melons in my face. Unable to stop the temptation, I leaned forward and took an errant nipple into my mouth.
I hear her stiffen as her legs tighten around me, trapping me in her heat.
“Oh, goddess! I love you, Kai...” she moaned... “Oh, I love you so much...”
Finally, we pulled apart, both of us were breathless, our foreheads resting against each other.
“Good morning,” she whispered, a smile playing on her lips.
I chuckled, my voice husky. “Good morning.”
We spent the next hour wrapped in each other’s warmth, making love slowly, the intimacy filling the void that had widened between us for weeks. I felt rejuvenated like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. As we lay in comfortable silence, I realized just how much I needed her – not just as my mate, but as the person who brought light to the shadows of my life.
But, ‘Maya’ lingered in my mind.
Liam mindlinked me reminding me of my commitment today. Sighing, I entangled from her rose from the bed. “I have to supervise the warriors on patrol today. Liam has already mindlinked me...”
She sat up, her hair tousled from overuse – my hands of course. “Do you always have to work so hard?” she pouted.
I smirked. “It’s a full-time job keeping the pack safe. Someone had to do it.”
She stretched, a satisfied smile on her lips as she came down from the bed too. “The food from yesterday is in the freezer. I can warm it up for you.”
I nodded and hurried into the bathroom. A while later, I was done dressing up and quickly rushed downstairs. She had set the table. I took a bit of the food that I was supposed to eat yesterday, savouring every bite.
“This is so delicious, babe,” I said in between mouthfuls. “I’m sorry I didn’t eat it last night.”
Her cheeks flushed with pleasure. “You’re forgiven.”/
After breakfast, I kissed her goodbye before I rushed to my car and drove out.
~~~
The patrol was uneventful at first. I walked the perimeter of the pack borders, checking on each warrior at their posts and making sure everything was alright. After getting the reports from all the guard posts that there was no disturbance, I decided to wait one more hour before leaving.
As I strolled around, walking towards the edge of the pack lands, the metallic scent of blood reached my nose.
“Hold up,” I said motioning for the guards walking with me to stop. I sniffed the air, my senses trying to locate the direction of the scent. It was definitely blood and it seemed fresh. Following the trail, I pushed through a thicket of trees and kept searching until something caught my eye.
Lying crumpled among the underbrush was a body. Female, barely breathing. Her body was battered and bruised and my heart clenched at the sight. Without thinking, I rushed towards her.
“Miss, are you okay?” I asked kneeling next to the injured woman.
Her eyelids fluttered for a second and I froze.
The eyes...
Moon! Her eyes... They were exactly like her eyes – Maya’s eyes. I peered closer again. She looked so familiar. Though her features were marred by dirt and scratches, sparked something deep in my memory.
She was the same person I’d been seeing in my dreams. Her eyes, her hair... everything was the dame.
“Maya!” I whispered.
The guards behind me exchanged glances but said nothing. Carefully, I lifted her into my arms, her limp body fitting against me like she belonged there. Hud growled softly with a mix of protectiveness and confusion.
“Alpha,” one of the guards began but I cut him off.
“Send word to the Pack Healer Odin,” I said firmly “Tell him to prepare for an emergency.”
“But Alpha...” the guard pressed. “We don’t even know who she is. Is it safe?”
“How dare you?” I growled with annoyance. “Do what I said this instance.”
