Chapter 103: 103-Her True Colors

Kash:

In the back of my mind, I was willing to forgive Iris as much as I could if she had mistakenly misplaced the box, or if she had left the door open and someone else had come in to steal it.

However, that would also mean our son would be left without a cure.

I was conflicted, but that conflict turned into anger the moment I walked into her room and found her sitting next to Luca, held by him, seeking comfort in his arms.

At first, I wanted to step inside, snatch that man away from her, beat him, and then grab Iris by her arm to drag her out of my guesthouse and throw her out of our lives.

But I held it in. I knew he would make fun of me if I reacted. They would believe they had gotten under my skin.

My ego stood firm. I refused to let her see that her little games had affected me.

What hurt the most was that Iris knew how much I hated being used.

She knew how much I despised someone coming into my life, acting like they cared, just to take something from me.

That had happened before, and one of them was still around because she had no idea I intended to use her until she had nothing left except dry tears in her eyes.

Yet Iris took the same step.

I demanded she tell me where it was, and her boyfriend stood in front of me as if he could shield her.

"Step out of the way, Luca. It does not concern you unless you planned it," I warned, feeling a throbbing pain in my temples.

"You do not need to cause chaos here. The kids are still sleeping," Iris reminded me as she stepped out from behind Luca and attempted to guide me toward reason.

"You came into my room last night, stole from me, and now you have the nerve to look me in the eye and remind me to be calm?" I yelled, watching her jaw clench.

"Wait. What are you accusing her of, and please step back from her," Luca demanded as he slipped between us again.

I stretched my neck and wandered away for a moment, biting my fist slightly before returning.

Every time he spoke, I felt like I needed to silence him. He was testing my patience.

"For the love of the moon goddess, Luca, step out of the way. It does not concern you," I hissed.

"You need to stop saying that and just tell us what you are accusing her of, because I am sure she did not do it," Luca defended her, making me place my hands on my waist as I stared at him in disbelief.

So that was what he was doing. He did not know.

Iris had not told him anything, and she had come to my room to steal the thing from me.

"She came into my room and stole the blue box of herbs," I announced.

Luca steadily turned around to look at Iris, who folded her arms and looked away.

The stern look on her face alone proved I was not lying.

It confirmed that it had happened. But it also showed she felt no shame over her actions.

"Well, for starters, that was a cure. The cure that I got. So it belonged to her, not you," Luca argued, unaffected by how easily Iris had betrayed me.

To him, it seemed small, but to me, it was huge.

"Right, it is his thing." As soon as Iris said that, it confirmed everything.

She had taken it from me.

"It is for my son. And if you had a problem, you should have said it when I was taking it. And if it is not stealing, then why did you not ask me first? You cannot just come into my room and take it from me," I yelled, frustration rising as both of them acted as if I had no right to question her.

"So what if she took it? It is for your own child," Luca hissed again.

Of course he wanted to stay on her good side.

That was when Iris’s mother barged in.

"What is going on here?" she asked in a stern tone.

"He is accusing her of stealing something that I got for her. It should not have been with Kash in the first place," Luca stated, making me stretch my neck again.

"Alpha King Kash, I know we are supposed to respect you, but this is too much. Now you are accusing my daughter of stealing something that is for your own son," her mother added as she stood against me.

"You got your answer. Nobody is going to believe that it belonged to you. It was her thing. She should have let you know, sure, but it is not that big of a deal. I do not know what is hurting your ego so much," Luca hissed.

The three of them stood shamelessly in front of me, and although I could punish all of them, the only reason I stayed silent was because of Iris.

She was the reason I stood here looking like the guilty one when I had every right to be upset.

It hurt when Iris looked back at me without shame.

"Well, since you want to be such a hero, then why do you not ask her why she came into my room, seeking comfort?" I hissed.

That was the moment I realized I had lost it. I had stayed silent for too long.

When she thought I had betrayed her, she went ahead and told the entire world.

She told my mother, my sister, everyone, then left the pack and took drastic steps.

But now that I had found out she had used me, the result was the same. I was the one who looked guilty. Not anymore.

Sadly, my anger took over.

The moment I said those words, Luca turned his head toward Iris, who finally began to look guilty.
