Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 121-The Rejection Is A Must
Iris:
He did not respond to me, since there was no question waiting for him.
After staring at me for a while, he stepped past me and went into the children’s room.
I stayed outside, frozen in my spot.
About ten minutes later, he came back out.
"Take care of him," he told me quietly, then hurried past me and disappeared out of the house.
I turned around and saw my mother walk out of the children’s room with a pleased smile on her lips.
Amy had already rushed inside to see Colin with Scarlett behind her, so now it was just my mother and me staring at each other.
"What was that? What are you trying to do now?" I asked her, unable to raise my voice.
I knew the consequences of showing her my real emotions. She never liked it.
"I need to push him so he gets married soon. Only then can we get the water from the blue river, the real cure," my mother replied, sounding far too confident, unaware of what her games were doing to her daughter.
She might be able to fix her son, but I did not think she would ever fix what she had broken in me or repair the relationship she had ruined between us.
"Well, then I guess you have done your job. You do not need me anymore," I replied, unfolding my arms and stepping forward to go past her.
I needed to be with Colin. My children were the only comfort I had left.
"I still need you to do one thing," as soon as she said that, I paused and turned back to her.
My face must have shown a hint of confusion, because she seemed pleased to see it.
"And what is that?" I asked.
"You have to go and ask Kash for rejection."
The moment those words left her lips, goosebumps spread across my arms.
"What? You want to control my life even more than you already have?" I almost yelled.
I did not even know why it came out so strong.
Anyone who had caught their husband cheating should have been the one demanding rejection, not the other way around.
"Why are you still hanging around the same mate bond he ignored when he cheated on you?" my mother hissed, giving it back to me in the most painful way. "Is he not engaged? Did you not hear he is planning to get married in fifteen days?"
"It does not work that way," I said firmly, turning my eyes away from her.
"Oh, I know how it works. So do not teach me. I have more experience with life than you have," she snapped.
My fists clenched as I folded my arms across my chest again.
"I am not going to reject him because of your plan," I told her, forcing the words out.
"There is only an excuse. I can see the hurt on your face. You are still waiting for him to leave Lara so you can fall right back into his arms. You do not even care about your children, because you know if you refuse to listen to me, Colin will suffer," she snapped in one breath, making me see how vindictive she could be, and how easily she could hold my children over my head if she wanted to.
"You cannot use my children to push people around," I snapped back harder, but her quiet laugh made the hair on the back of my neck rise.
"Sure, but I can still do this."
As soon as she said it, she lifted her hand, her fingers positioned to snap, and my chest tightened.
I rushed forward and grabbed her fingers, stopping her, shaking my head again and again, begging her with my eyes, unable to say a word.
"A second fit will make Colin even weaker," she said calmly, not noticing how badly I was shaking while holding her hand.
"Then if you do not want it, go and speak with him. Demand rejection. And now you have a reason to do so. Tell him he is getting married in fifteen days, so you want rejection. That way you will not feel the pain of his betrayal."
She slipped her hand out of my grasp and walked away, leaving me frozen.
My hand stayed in the air, shaking. I finally lowered it and wiped my cheeks.
The pain of betrayal was not something I had ever felt from a mate bond.
My lycan had not even woken up yet. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
I stepped toward my room and ignored Luca standing in the way.
"Why is your mother so bitter toward you?" he questioned, walking into the room with me.
"Do not act like you do not know. You were hired by her to play my boyfriend. You are on her side," I snapped, dropping myself onto the couch and sitting upright, my hands holding the edges of the cushions.
"That is not the truth. I needed money. I did not know it would become something this toxic," he complained.
"If that is the case, then help me. Convince her to stop forcing me to reject my husband. I want to heal fully first and then reject him," I told him, giving him a look that said if he wanted to prove himself, he should help me this once.
He watched my face, then turned around and walked out of the door. For a moment, I felt hopeful.
Maybe he would be able to convince my mother. Maybe he would manage what I could not.
However, he returned soon after, and one look at his face told me he had failed.
"I spoke to her," he said quietly. "She said if anyone mentions it again, she will wake her son so Colin suffers another fit, and this time she will not put her son to sleep."
I covered my face with my hands as tears gathered. Luca sat on the bed, legs hanging down, watching me.
"But why not just leave him? Why go through so much for a man who does not even deserve you anymore?" he asked.
I lowered my hands slowly and watched him.
