Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 170-I Want Power
Iris:
It had been a whole week since I returned home.
Honestly, it had been so long since I had been treated with respect.
Still, I felt unsettled, like I was not fully in control of what I was doing.
"Your Highness," Luca arrived, placing a hand on his chest and bowing in respect.
"You know I do not like you using that title," I told him, smiling.
We had gotten along well. Ever since I returned, my father made sure my mother stayed away from me.
She was not allowed near me, and she was not allowed near my children either.
I was not asked to have dinner with her. She ate alone in her room.
I heard she was upset, but this was what she deserved.
I was honestly surprised that my father had taken such a step to make me feel better.
He was trying his best to mend our broken relationship.
Of course, it would not be easy, but I was glad he was putting in effort.
"Yes, Luca, what are you here for?" I asked as he sat across from me on the sofa.
My kids were being introduced to people who had never been allowed to see them before.
I personally went around with them while they learned about lycans.
There were moments when they almost mentioned Kash, but Colin would stop Amy.
I had not thought about him much either, but there were moments when I wondered where he had taken her for their honeymoon.
What they were doing. Whether she felt his warmth the way I once had.
"Earth to Iris," Luca remarked, snapping his fingers in front of me.
I smiled at him, making it seem like nothing.
"The crown is ready, and all the preparations are done. Your father asked me to show you the crown and see if you like the final result or if you want to make changes," he explained, gesturing for his fighters to bring it forward.
He was my right hand, just as his father had been my father’s.
"I told you, Luca, it does not matter. I can have any crown. It is the power and status that matter," I was speaking when my eyes suddenly shut, then opened on the beautiful crown in front of me.
My words stopped midway, and I kept staring at the crown filled with diamonds.
But it was not just the diamonds.
It was the intricate pattern on the crown that made my heartbeat quicken.
"This is really pretty," I told Luca with a wide smile.
"Well, then I guess we should start with the invitations," he remarked.
I nodded happily.
They had to invite the other Lycan members and some of the pack members from the East.
The Lycan community was hidden deep within the forests of the East.
Not only that, the East was under our rule.
The werewolves had allowed us to stay there in the beginning, and when we started to take over, they chose to give us the land without war.
It was decided that we would live together and that no Lycan would attack the werewolves of the East.
We had been doing well with that agreement.
In fact, the Alphas of the East were closer to the Lycans than to other territories.
"And what about the other things?" I asked Luca, noticing the way his face soured slightly.
"I mean, I spoke with your father about it, but I think starting a war with the werewolves might not be a good idea. Many innocent people will suffer. Iris, I understand you are angry, but do you not think that your anger at Kash is a little too much? I mean, I am all for you never wanting to see his face again, but to go to war, that is a bit extreme," Luca reasoned.
I listened to him in silence, one leg crossed over the other, bouncing it the entire time.
"If you are done talking, Luca, you can go. I am done listening. I will decide everything," I replied.
My tone made Luca’s face turn pale.
I knew I was hurting many people, but anger sat deep within me.
Because of all this, I had lost someone I loved. Who was I fooling at this point?
Not because of these people, but because of him.
He took something big from me, my desire to ever be happy with a man.
Kash should have known he meant a lot to me. Why did he break my heart like this?
As silence settled, Luca began to stand.
"And it is not because of his betrayal," I added. "It is because I am interested in the Blue River water. Do you have any idea how many Lycans suffering from the same curse my brother had will be healed if we get that water?" I asked, tapping my fingertips against the armrest of the couch.
"So what, you are just going to start a war?" Luca questioned, his hands on his waist, his eyes fixed on me.
"No. I will give them a chance to share the water with us. If they refuse, then I will be left with no choice. And it is not like Kash has never done that," I stated as I stood up, straightening my posture and fixing my hair, ready to leave for my room to be with my children.
Luca’s last words stopped me.
"So it is either you are with Kash or you become like him?"
I paused briefly as his words struck me, then continued walking toward my children’s room.
Once I entered the room, I saw my children sitting on the bed, holding tablets in their hands.
The moment they noticed me, they put the tablets down.
There was something sad in the way they looked at me.
"Mommy, when are we going to see Daddy again? We are happy here, but we miss him," Amy mumbled, her lips curling downward.
"We are never seeing your father again. He is married now, and he is happy with his mate. Aren’t you happy here with me?" I asked, giving them a smile.
However, there was a harsh look on Amy’s face.
"No, you have changed too, Mommy," she replied.
The moment she said those words, I gasped.
What hurt most was when Colin nodded in agreement.
