Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 198-I Know My Mate’s Secret
Kash:
The women in my home were acting up. I had listened to and heard all the complaints, and I was beginning to wonder if what Iris had told me about my family was true. If they were arguing with Lara, whom they liked so much, then what about Iris? They had liked her too in the past.
However, I could not really expect them to react to Lara the same way they had reacted to Iris, because Lara was someone who constantly argued. In this matter, Lara was wrong. She was raising the right questions for all the wrong reasons.
"I want to see my father before we go to work," Iris requested, and I walked her to the guest house.
The children were a little hesitant around those people now, but I noticed they were far more attentive and responsive to Iris’s father than to their mother. They rushed in and hugged him. He was sitting on the couch, looking sad.
I stayed at the door, watching them interact.
"I am going to work. I will come back and have dinner with you, okay, Father?" Iris told him, holding his hands.
There was a strange sadness around him.
"Seeing you work and regain your footing makes me feel proud of you," her father commented.
I had never seen her mother do the same, so it felt fair to say her father was different from her mother.
"Where is Luca and his father?" Iris asked, looking around.
My body stiffened when I heard Luca’s name.
"They are out for a morning jog. They have been very upset as well," her father replied.
Iris nodded.
"Anyway, breakfast will be served to you here, okay? And if you need anything, let that guard know," Iris told her father, pointing toward one of the guards in the distance.
Her father nodded in response. Iris stood up to leave.
As she walked past me, I cleared my throat to get her attention.
"I would like to have a word with your Father," I said.
The moment I said that, she stopped in her tracks, watching my face as if I had said something unreasonable.
"What are you going to talk to him about?" she asked, grunting, making it clear that she did not like me speaking to her father at that moment.
"Just a casual talk. Why? I cannot even have that," I questioned her.
She folded her arms firmly around her chest in front of me, as if hinting that she would not let me enter the guest house until I told her exactly what I planned to discuss with her father.
"Iris, it is okay. Your old man can respond to any questions. You do not have to guard me, my little bird," her father spoke warmly, and even my body relaxed.
She turned to look at her father, then looked back at me.
"You say anything upsetting to him, Kash," she warned me, making me smile at how she was trying to control me.
"Do not worry. I do not have a death wish," I replied.
As soon as I said that, her father let out a small laugh, and Iris grunted at both of us.
Once she stepped out with the children, I wandered over and sat on the couch beside her father.
"I assume you have questions for me," her father said, speaking immediately.
I had heard he was a very intelligent man, and seeing how quickly he realized I had something to say, I understood why people thought so.
"When I was in the East, I did not expect things to turn out that way," I began, speaking honestly and making sure my words were clear.
"And what were you expecting?" her father asked, tilting his head toward me.
"Quite frankly, I thought the Alpha King of the East had found out about my mate being there and had captured her," I said. "He would have done it to force me into listening to him."
I paused and saw her father smile.
"And would he have been successful if that were the case?" he questioned.
I smiled, resting my elbows on my thighs as I leaned forward slightly.
"It would have been a disaster, because I would have had to bow down to them and their demands."
The moment I said that, I saw a relaxed look settle over her father’s face.
"But you are not the Alpha King that I remember," I spoke again, watching him give small nods.
"And I also know you are not who you say you are," I added. Her father remained calm, smiling faintly while still looking at my face.
"No, I am not the Alpha King," her father replied, choosing honesty over a lie.
I knew that if there was anyone who would tell the truth, it would be her father. He seemed like the kind of person who would simply say it.
"Then would you be willing to tell me who you are?" I asked, relaxing my muscles.
He began to smile and nodded again. He did that often, as if he spoke to himself first before deciding what to say next.
"Let me ask you something. Since you have asked me so many questions, let one question come from my side," he requested, and I could not refuse.
"Sure. Go ahead. What is it that you want to know?" I asked him, tilting my head.
In a calm and composed tone, he spoke. "What did my son say to you in your ear?"
There was a brief pause. We stared at each other, and then I smiled and nodded before responding.
"He told me who you are. He told me the truth about Iris," I said. I paused, watching her father stare at me without a smile, without any expression. Then I added, "That you are a lycan, and so is she."
The moment I said that, her father closed his eyes. When he opened them again, fear was visible in them. Fear of the truth coming out.
