Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 204-Threatened And Then Delivered
Iris:
"Then why? Why do you make it so hard? Why can’t we just close this distance between us?" he whispered as he leaned closer to my face.
For a second, as I breathed heavily, I wavered, thinking he was not wrong, until I remembered Lara.
"Because I still have not found a good reason why you fucking cheated on me," I finished, then slowly freed myself from him. Thankfully, he let me go.
"I don’t care if you did it for power or anything else. The bottom line is that you cheated on me. You chose power over me, Kash. And because of that, I have been through horrible shit for the past few years," I finished, then sniffled.
He stayed still and, thankfully, did not say anything.
Then he walked out. As always, he had no answer for his cheating.
I dropped onto the hard floor and started to sob. For some reason, I was still standing where I had been five years ago, and I hated every second of it.
I did not want to go through this pain anymore, but what could I do? I was trapped, going through the same pain over and over again. No. I needed answers. There was no way I was going to stay here.
If Kash had been understanding enough to save me and my children from my brother’s clutches, then he had to agree to set me free, to let me go and allow me to start my life alone, unless he had a very good excuse for his betrayal.
But what could he possibly say? He had already told me it was all for power, and that was not enough. He chose power over me. He chose power over my love.
I stood up from the floor and wiped my cheeks, fixing my hair before I stepped out and grabbed my robe, pulling it over my wet gown. Once I was covered, I made my way toward the room. I opened the door and walked into the living room to look for Kash.
I heard his voice from somewhere, and it made me stop in my tracks.
"Lara, open the door," Kash urged.
There was urgency in his voice, along with a strange softness. I no longer moved briskly and instead took small, silent steps as I went upstairs to the second floor where Lara’s bedroom was. I was standing near the top of the stairs when I saw Kash outside her door.
"Come on, babe. I was just angry," he explained. "There was so much going through my head, and you were threatening to leave me. Of course I got angry."
He continued explaining himself to her, and it broke me because this was not how he had spoken to me earlier. Even in the bathroom, when I was crying, he had been rough and rude toward me.
It was almost as if he had dismissed my feelings, but here he was explaining himself to Lara. It made it clear that they had argued, and he had chosen to return to her to comfort her instead of me.
"No, I am very mad at you," she snapped.
Lara finally opened the door, and I quickly stepped out of their sight, though I could still hear them and watch from where I stood.
"I was explaining my feelings to you, and you were so distant. I would have understood that, but you have been spending so much time with that bitch who took your kids and put them in danger," she continued, crying and hiccuping as she mentioned me.
Not once did Kash tell her to stop or ask her not to speak about me that way. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Okay, fine. I’m sorry," he replied gently, touching her chin. "Have you ever seen me apologize to anyone?"
I closed my eyes. The sight was unbearable.
"No," she answered, and I could already see a smile flicker across her face. "But you have made me so upset. I’ve been so lonely without you. You don’t even care. Do you even love me anymore?"
She let out a small cry, rubbing her eyes.
"Listen to me," Kash told her softly. "Do you know what you mean to me, Lara? And how dare you ask me that?"
He paused, then added in a stern tone, "If I did not love you, I would not have married you. I would not have jeopardized my relationship with my fated mate. Your father told you everything. You know how much I love you."
Kash spoke with everything he had, and her struggle to step away from him slowly faded. A smile settled on her face.
That was when I decided there was no explanation needed. He was playing a game. At least, he was playing me.
I did not wait around to hear more of their conversation. There was no need. I went back downstairs and lay down on the empty bed. I tried to sleep for a few minutes, and then I fell asleep.
I woke up the next morning and went about the day, changing into white pants and a blue shirt after I had also changed my children’s clothes.
"Mummy, are we going to spend time with Grandpa today?" Colin asked while I fixed his hair.
"Of course we will. If you want, we can go now," I replied with a smile.
I was ready to leave. Anything was better than staying in that place.
My kids picked up their toys and were ready to go, but the moment I stepped outside, I saw Kash and Lara coming downstairs. They were both dressed up, and it seemed they were heading out.
"Daddy!" Amy and Colin cried out, rushing past me and clinging to their father’s legs.
Kash quickly lifted them up, smiling at them.
At that point, I had no idea if Kash ever spoke the truth or if everything he did was a game, even the way he behaved with Lara.
"Daddy you weren’t in the room last night," Amy complained in a soft voice.
Before Kash could respond, Lara jumped in eagerly.
"That’s because your daddy was in the room with me last night," Lara announced.
Kash snapped his head up to look at me, almost as if he had been caught.
