Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 241-They Are Curious About My Identity
Iris:
I had never been happier than I was that day. I finally felt like I had enough strength to stand up for myself.
However, I did not know where I actually needed to take that stand. So I took all my frustration out on Kash.
Even in the car, I gave him a harsh look from time to time. My father had to elbow me to make me stop. But I still kept doing it.
I repeated it over and over to annoy him because he had annoyed me too.
Finally, we arrived home. I hurried inside and saw my children playing in the living room. The moment they lifted their heads, they ran toward me.
"Mommy, you’re back home! Where were you? We missed you so much!" Amy said as I knelt down and hugged them both.
"I missed you too, Mommy," Colin added, kissing me on the cheek, which made me hold them tighter as I carried them to the couch.
To be honest, carrying them felt like carrying feathers. Once we settled on the couch, I placed them beside me and watched them with a smile.
"How are you two? Did you miss me?" I asked, even though they had already answered.
"We did," Amy replied with a bright smile on her lips.
"What about you?" I joked with Colin, watching him smile shyly at me.
"I missed you too, Mommy. I missed you a lot," he muttered, then snickered.
"I have missed you too," I replied, gently touching their cheeks.
"And what did you do when I was gone?" I asked them.
"We played a lot and Aunt Zoe helped us study too. I think we are ready for school," Amy stated as she shifted into my lap to face me, while Colin moved slightly to sit between me and Kash as soon as Kash joined us on the couch.
Lady Vivian and Zoe were sitting on the couch across the table, while Markus sat on a single sofa.
"You know, Mommy, Aunt Zoe really took care of us. We slept with her, she told us stories, and she helped us bathe. She’s wonderful," Amy said, full of praise for the woman I had never liked, but at that moment, I could not hate her.
As my children continued praising her, I felt a small sense of comfort. I looked at her, then shifted my gaze to her mother and her husband beside her, who did not seem to have had a good few days.
"You’re right. She even kicked her husband out," Markus muttered, hinting that she had taken such good care of my children that she kept them close and pushed her husband out of the room for their sake.
"Thank you, Zoe," I whispered without lifting my head.
"It’s all right. I love these kids anyway," she replied in the same genuine tone I was using.
Her mother sat with her arms folded across her chest. She had looked pleased when I was not around, but the moment she saw me enter the mansion, her expression changed. She looked bitter now.
"So, your wife transitioned? Such a late bloomer," Lady Vivian said, and the atmosphere turned dark once again.
Even though Zoe had shown a little gentleness toward me, her mother remained bitter. I did not respond to her and let Kash answer instead.
"Yeah, she did," Kash replied, resting his arm behind my back.
I wanted to react and ask him to remove his hand, but he would have felt insulted in front of his parents and the rest of his family. So I did not do it.
"Really? So what kind of omega is she? The lowest of the lowest?" Markus asked, trying to joke, but it was really a comment about my wolf and my abilities. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
He let out a small laugh and turned his head toward Zoe, hoping she would laugh with him, but I noticed that Zoe avoided his eyes.
"Well, Markus, not everyone is the lowest of the lowest," Kash said.
His words made Markus straighten his back and stare at him. He understood it was a taunt directed at him, but he could not retaliate, not in front of the alpha king.
I had a bad feeling that Zoe would take the pressure of Kash’ comment. I had noticed the way Markus would clench his jaw at Zoe, and she would instantly hug herself. I was concerned that he might be physically abusing her.
"So what is your wife?" Lady Vivian asked, drawing the attention back to herself.
"Mom, you transitioned?" Colin asked. "Does that mean you also have a wolf now?"
Colin reacted by jumping to his feet with excitement. Even Amy’s eyes were fixed on me.
"Yes," I told them, nodding my head.
I felt proud as I watched my children look so happy for me.
"Whoa, so that means we will have a wolf too, then," Colin commented, making Kash and me share a glance.
"Of course. Why would you think you would not have a wolf?" Kash asked his children, and their attention turned toward him.
"Everybody says that," Amy uttered, her expression falling.
I felt like my children were getting bullied here and there, and it hurt because I had not been able to help them. They were being bullied because of me, because I did not have a fucking wolf. But now things were going to change.
"Well, your mother..." Kash paused when he noticed his mother looking at him, waiting for an answer.
Kash smiled. I turned my face toward him, wondering what he would say next. The best option was for him to lie and say that I was an omega. He could not tell them I was a lycan.
"Just think of her as one of the royals, the kind we still have to trace back to their origin," Kash replied, coughing yelps to follow.
I got to see the shocked look on Markus’ face as if he had been just told that he lost his own wolf.
