Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 274-Still Denying
Iris:
"Why?" I asked the very first question, sitting across from Luca, who was handcuffed to the table between us.
Luca had a blank look on his face, like he was upset that we had caught him and put him in prison.
"Luca, you need to answer," I insisted.
My hands were clutched together on the table, and I so badly wanted to pinch my skin. I was going through a plethora of emotions, but I had to calm my nerves so I could reassure him that he could tell me everything without being judged.
The truth was, I was already judging him. Knowing that he had lied to me for so long hurt me deeply.
"You think if you stay silent, that will be it?" I added, hearing Kash’s anxious voice behind me. He was waiting for a signal to attack Luca. That much I knew.
"I’m not speaking until your husband is out of this room," Luca commented, causing the footsteps to fade and silence to fall between us.
Kash had stopped walking. He took one large step and reached me, standing beside me with his hands in his pockets before pulling them out and slamming them on the table.
I jolted, but Luca did not. He only raised his eyes to glare at Kash. They stared at each other directly.
"You think this is a joke, Luca? You think you’re in a position to make demands?" Kash grunted, making sure Luca saw his giant fist clench on the table.
"You can beat me up if you want. I just said what I had to say. Now I’ll wait for your decision," Luca replied, looking back at me and ignoring the threat in Kash’s eyes.
He leaned back in his seat and placed his handcuffed hands in his lap. His legs shook nonstop.
"Well then, let’s do it. I will see how you won’t speak up," Kash threatened.
As soon as he spoke, I reached over and placed my hand on his fist. His body began to ease at my touch.
"Can you please wait outside?" I asked.
The moment I did, I noticed his body tensed up again. It was clear that he did not like me asking him to leave.
I took a deep breath and raised my eyes to meet his gaze. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Please," I requested in a soft tone.
He casually slipped his hand behind his back, and I pulled mine away. He then ran a hand through his hair while the other remained on his waist.
"And while you’re leaving, make sure you take down the glass mirror so I can see that none of you are listening to our conversation from the other room," Luca quickly added, referring to the way interrogations were performed.
There was a mirror he could not see through, but the other side would be filled with warriors, Kash, and other alphas listening to what he had to say.
Kash turned to me and gave me a glare.
"Do you still want me to leave?" he asked.
Luca was making absurd requests just to admit to what we already knew.
As I continued to silently stare at Kash with nothing but softness in my eyes, he suddenly turned around and punched the mirror, shattering it into pieces.
"Kash—"
I rose to ask if his hand was fine, but he gestured for me to stop.
He then strode toward the door, left the room, and slammed it shut.
The warriors on the other side began leaving one by one.
Now it was just Luca and me.
My eyes remained on the blood splattered across the glass shards for a few seconds before I looked back at Luca, straightening my spine.
"If there was anyone I had thought would never betray me again, it was you."
I needed to get this off my chest.
He had truly let me down. I had put my faith in him after he told me to.
There were moments when I briefly questioned why Luca would throw away his entire life in the lycan community just to come here and practically watch me live happily with Kash.
But then I told myself it was not because of me. It was because he wanted to do the right thing.
Now I was filled with sadness as I realized he never did any of that.
He only made me believe he did.
"You have already formed a negative opinion of me, so does it matter if I try to explain?" he began, still sounding arrogant and not looking guilty.
"I think the whole truth is what I am looking for," I told him, watching him nod to himself.
"If that is the case, then I will give you the whole truth," he uttered softly before placing his hands back on the table.
I hissed.
"It is true that I lied to be held captive in the lycan community," he started confessing, forcing me to remain calm even when it was not easy.
"Your mother offered me a deal," he continued, and of course my mother’s name came up. I knew she would be mentioned.
"She said if I supported her, she would arrange for me to marry you."
As soon as those words left his lips, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, it sounds crazy, but I fucking did it for you. I know I was wrong, but I knew I was in love and that it would be fine," he went on, adding more to my curiosity.
"Then my father found out, and he did the right thing like he always does because, unlike me, he is not a loser. And not an opportunist either. So he corrected everything. And then we came here," he continued in a soft tone before taking a deep breath and closing his eyes for a second.
When he opened them again, there were tears in his eyes.
"But I did not plan this attack."
And then he said the words that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
