Alpha's Lost Luna Returns With His Twins-Chapter 277-Their Weakness
Lara:
I noticed a significant amount of fear on Lady Vivian’s face when I mentioned Markus.
"No, wait, you need to tell me exactly what you meant," she insisted, and I knew she would. Of course, she would never look away from something that could cause stress for her daughter.
She was weirdly protective of that snake. To be honest, I do not think Zoe deserves such a mother.
Zoe was rude. She only ever cared about herself and what she wanted. That was proven when she switched from taking my side to Iris’s.
She was just trying to get into her brother’s good books. At least that is what I learned. Otherwise, why would she suddenly be so concerned about Iris’s well-being and care for her?
There was another part that deeply disturbed me over the last few days. It was the fact that Zoe ultimately became the reason Iris was among us today.
Those people had come to take Iris with them. If only Zoe had left it alone, she would have been out of the equation by now.
So yes, I was pretty angry with Zoe. I was going to make sure she suffered through the worst heart break ever.
But not now. Right now, my focus remained on Iris.
She was supposed to go.
"Listen, I did not want to say it because I knew it would upset you, and it would upset Zoe most of all," I began, watching the frown on Lady Vivian’s face deepen with every passing second.
"But you need to keep an eye on Iris. I do not want to say it, but do you not remember that she previously dated Luca?" I uttered.
"And then she came up with this lie that it was not true, that she was only doing it to make sure Kash did not force her to go back with him, and all that as if she were that important."
I explained to Lady Vivian, reminding her of Iris’s past and how it was not spotless from scandals.
"Yeah, I remember," Lady Vivian nodded.
"I’m just saying, Iris knows how to control a man, and then she knows how to twist it around. Have you not seen what happened with Luca?" I spoke softly, keeping my tone steady so I would not sound suspicious, only concerned. Thankfully, Lady Vivian listened patiently.
"Look, I’m not defending Luca, but the way Iris promised him a life, brought him from the woods, or whichever pack they belonged to, gave him dreams, and then took them all away, leaving him here with nothing, no pack, nothing, while she is happily living her life. That just proves how wicked she is."
I paused to watch Lady Vivian’s eyes twitch.
"I hope that does not happen with Markus, but this time Markus will not be the only one who suffers. He has Zoe with him, and I do not want Zoe to suffer because of Iris’s evil plans."
As I finished, Lady Vivian nodded, fully understanding what I was trying to show her.
"Well then, I will just let it happen, because if Markus is going to cheat on Zoe, then he better do it. That way, I can help Zoe open her eyes and see that her current spouse is evil. That is the only way for her to move forward and for Kash too."
Just as I expected, Lady Vivian decided to kill two birds with one stone.
"I think you’re right. Otherwise, Kash would never believe it," I replied with a pout, nodding at Lady Vivian. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
At that point, I realized she was wrapped so tightly around my fingers that if I told her to twerk, she would do it. It would be ridiculous, but who cares about her?
"Anyway, you rest a little, okay? Do not stress out. I’ll handle everything. And thank you for always thinking so much about my family and its well-being."
Lady Vivian placed a hand on my shoulder and walked away.
I had been in contact with my father, but I had not told him a single thing about what had transpired here. Not the fact that Kash was going to reject me and all that.
I did not even tell him that I was pregnant. I had also told Lady Vivian not to tell my father.
That was because if I did, my father would want to come here to celebrate. Once he saw Iris, he would start questioning everything.
He would eventually reach the conclusion that Kash had probably lied to him just to get his crown. So I wanted to avoid all of it.
I was already holding Kash by a thin thread, and I did not want anybody else to intervene or come between our relationship.
As I sat on the sofa, thinking about different ways to initiate my plan, my phone screen lit up. It was a text message from the woman and the man I had hired to take care of those two little brats.
And I knew what they were going to say.
She asked if she could call me. I rolled my eyes and answered.
"What is it?" I asked in a sour mood.
Usually, when she called, there was too much noise behind her, as if she were trying to prove the kids were doing fine. But today it was awfully quiet.
So maybe it was their nap time. What did I know, and why would I care?
"Actually, I wanted to remind you that it is the first of the new month, and we haven’t received the money in our bank accounts," she said in an overly sweet tone.
I clenched my jaw.
"Fine. Send me pictures of the children, and I will send you the money."
As soon as I said that, I heard hesitation in her voice.
"Do I have to do it now? I mean, they are sleeping. I do not want to disturb them," she replied.
I crossed one leg over the other, processing what I had just heard.
"I am not asking you to make them pose. So send the pictures so that I know you are doing your job well and stop bothering me."
I heard her clear her throat from the other side.
"Once you send me the recent pictures, I will send you the money."
