Alpha's Secret Bride-Chapter 59: The Alpha Who Refused to Let Her Go
The rumblings of thunder from a distance woke her up. She looked around, Brandon was no longer in the chamber. The last thing she remembered was crouching on his wolf while he narrated everything that happened while he was at the academy. She didn’t know when she fell asleep. Probably, the wine she took sedated her.
She looked at the Panerin Alpha’s time Sigil that hung on the wall; it was a few minutes past two already. She slowly rolled out of the bed and stared at the door sealed with twenty automatic bolts. Brandon would have left the door closed if he knew she couldn’t open it. She walked towards the door looking for a red mark or anything that would trigger the bolts. However, the bolts disengaged as soon as the optical sensor detected her motion.
She was happy she had found some answers to her questions, but she still needed to find out what he needed from her, what he did that made him so rich and powerful.
"Now, she can peacefully work on her novel knowing she’s in the paws of her mate," she smiled satisfactorily as she walked into the study chamber.
She had unimaginable courage and self-confidence because she had a mate behind her who believed in her. She quickly grabbed her pen. A story title came to her mind as an inspiration. She wrote it down and committed to action immediately in a way that felt authentic to her. She had written a lot of stories but this new story felt like she was embarking on an adventurous journey.
Brandon’s love gave her all the backing, planning, and preparation she had ever needed. Everything felt so smooth, so easy, so natural and so exciting.
As she mulled her story, she saw herself enjoying her passion once again. Previously, it was difficult to accept herself as the she-wolf to explore. Some ugly thoughts, failures, and rejections stopped her from feeling worthy and deserving of writing successfully. However, with her mate by her side, she felt she was more than worthy to embark on the journey.
Stepping aboard and trusting that the story would be worthwhile, she penned down her preface. Tears clouded her eyes and goosebumps appeared all over her wolf.
She never knew a day like this would ever come. A day she felt genuine affection for the first time in her life. A day she started living a positive life and began a positive journey. A day, all her worries were eliminated completely. A day that ushered in the perfect world she had always dreamt of. A day she found out she was in the paws of her alpha who loved her unconditionally. Of a truth, the wishes of a pure soul never go in vain.
She was busy pouring her mind into a notebook before her.
She never knew someone was standing behind her. Joy didn’t even let her perceive his powerful scent that filled the whole chamber.
"Cancel this," he said, pointing at a sentence. Without questioning or arguing, she quickly ruled a vertical line across the words. "It does not relate and support your idea and so will distract readers from the main point of the story," Brandon said, returning his paws to his pockets.
"Thank you," she murmured. He kissed her head and left the study chamber. She fixed her teary eyes on him until he was out of sight. She returned her gaze and continued writing.
"Good evening, Luna," a voice greeted her after a few hours. She turned and saw Bernard smiling at her, holding a white envelope.
"Is it for me?"
"Yes, Luna."
"Drop it here," she pointed at her desk. Bernard dropped the envelope, bowed, and left. She noticed he had a lot of questions on his lips, but she already knew what he wanted to ask.
She lifted the letter and opened it slowly. It was an invitation letter from Brandon. She smiled and began to read.
"My Moonblessed One," you are cordially invited to join me this evening for a romantic bath, dinner, wine, and movie night in bed. See you at six....."Your Moon-sworn protector... I love you."
She smiled as she read the letter over and over. She stared at the wall clock, it was five-thirty already. She dropped her pen and stood up quickly as though she had just realized herself. She hit the intercom on her way out and Mrs. Thompson responded immediately.
"Good evening Mrs. Thompson. I want to see you in my chamber, it’s urgent."
"Alright."
The rain continued pouring down heavily, making the whole estate look deserted. It was just 5:30 PM, but the weather looked as though it was eight already.
She climbed the stairs slowly with joy in her heart. She loved the rain because of its soothing and peaceful effect. It always gave her the perfect reason to stay indoors. She walked straight to her closet to get ready to honor her mate’s invitation.
"Luna, you sent for me?"
"Yes," she responded without looking at Mrs. Thompson, who stood behind her
"I hope everything is alright."
"I need that stuff."
Mrs. Thompson kept quiet for a few seconds, probably smiling or just rolling her eyes.
"Why?"
"I want to make him happy tonight. I am a very horrible she-wolf, yet he loves me. I rejected him three years ago because he didn’t look like the he-wolf I was waiting for, yet he refused to give up. I humiliated him and made him go through a lot, but he never complained. Now I know why Bernard wants me to learn how to make him happy. Please, Mrs. Thompson; what must I do to make it up to him? Teach me, please" she said with tears clouding her eyes.
"Seeing you every day makes him happy. He just wants you to be his mate forever. He wants you to wake up in his paws every day. Don’t ever leave him, because he will stop at nothing to get you back again, thereby going through another stress. Luna, you are the den that houses his heart. He is your captive. Everywhere you go, I want you to always remember that you have another soul inside you.
He did a lot of crazy things just to see your face every day when you rejected him."
"He stalked me?" She asked, pretending she didn’t know.
"I guess you haven’t figured out some crazy things he did just to see your face?"
"I haven’t. Would you just tell me some of the things he did?"
"No, Luna."
"Just one."
"Alright, when the news of your engagement got to him, he priced your ex-mate’s father’s moon enterprise and acquired it. The he-wolf and your ex-mate are working for him and the amount he pays them every full -moon cycle is more than the profit they make from the wine every winter."
"Oh my moon goddess! Why?"
"So it will be easier for him to keep seeing you since your ex-mate works for him."
"Oh my moon goddess! How do I make him happy tonight?"
"Luna,he really loves you," she said after some seconds. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"I know, and I want to mesmerize him tonight, but I don’t just know how to do it; please, teach me."
"Let your instincts lead you. Follow your wolf, and trust the bond you share. He is yours, and you are his. No walls stand between mates. Learn him, feel him, understand what makes his wolf stir."
"Thank you."
"You are welcome. You owe me some good gist in the moonrise," Mrs. Thompson grinned and began to walk towards the closet. She gave her a curt stare and returned her gaze.
"Do you have a mate?"
"We separated a few years ago."
"Oh...okay; do you have a pup?"
"Yes, I have a pup."
"Where is he?"
"Ryan is my pup."
"Oh! Why is he serving here too?"
"He comes here to spend some time with me whenever he is on vacation."
"Alright, you can go now."
"You are not a horrible she-wolf, rather your upbringing is still regulating your emotions and attitude. His love will change you, but I don’t want it to soften you."
"Am I stubborn?"
"Emma, you are very stubborn," she grinned. "You are strong-willed, but you need it. It’s part of your unique gifts"
"Am I wicked?"
"No, you have a good heart."
"Thank you."
Mrs. Thompson smiled, opened the door, and left. She pulled her device to read a text message that came on it. "It’s time, My Moonblessed." Her heart skipped and her breathing came so fast. She left her chamber and began to walk in the direction of his chamber.
"This way, Luna," one of his guard he-wolves gestured. She looked in the direction he-wolf was directing her and hesitated.
"This is the way to his executive chamber."
"Alright," she said and followed him. He led her to the third level of the mega-den and turned. She saw no door. The mystic light in the hallway made the wall painted with eerie white a bit frightening to her wolf. She had understood how the meg- den worked so she continued walking with her eyes fixed on the extreme, hoping the wall there would part. She got to the extreme, but it did not. She stood still for some seconds waiting for a motion detector, optic scanner, or anything to detect her, but nothing happened. She began to walk back again. She was surprised when she discovered a parted wall. She never looked in that direction when she was heading to the extreme. She walked in and it closed slowly.
She looked around the magnificent gothic bathing chamber and she marveled. It was quite eerie but very sophisticated and decadent. The neon lighting and accessories carried gothic tones. She couldn’t believe everything she was seeing there was real. It was as if she was shaping the world she desired within her wolf. She never knew someone was standing beside her.
