Amber Sword-Chapter 624: Act 61 The King Under the Ground (12) (3rd Update)
But just as everyone was whispering, a giant voice suddenly resounded in the arena, interrupting the girl’s words:
"Mortals, welcome to the hall of heroes!"
This voice was cold and majestic, seemingly filled with an unstoppable force: "You will challenge your respective destinies here, either merely to survive or to become the rulers of the land—"
"So, humble challengers, step out, let us witness the moment destiny is born."
The voice rumbled and echoed above the arena like rolling thunder, causing everyone’s faces to turn pale. Qian and Medisha both turned to look at Brand, but Brand was observing the entire Duel Arena.
He was contemplating the possible challenges ahead. The Fate Arena included all sorts of monsters, mostly related to the arena’s environment. In an ordinary arena like this, the most likely encounters would be those strong creatures on land or in low air.
He secretly breathed a sigh of relief; at least it wasn’t the Gods Arena, such an arena in the void was probably the most terrifying kind in the Fate Arena.
Although the challenges weren’t from real deities, those beings from myth were enough to make one’s scalp tingle.
"One at a time, don’t rush. I’ll arrange the order," Brand looked at the red-haired girl, "Qian, you go with that miner. You don’t have the strength above Black Iron, so you can be counted as a group. This way, it’ll be easier for me to rescue you."
But these words made Medisha pause slightly, unable to resist looking at the red-haired girl in confusion: "Who is she, Qian?"
"I’ll explain to you later." Brand replied, "Sir, you go up second."
"Why?" Kulan raised an eyebrow, "You worry that I can’t pass the challenge?"
Brand shrugged, then turned his gaze to Medisha, saying to himself: "Medisha, you’ll go up with me later."
"Is that okay?"
"You’re a summoned creature, you should be able to try." Brand thought, if summoned creatures could go up with him, then this challenge would be much more promising.
But before he had time to be happy, the scenery inside the Duel Arena suddenly changed. Fences rose around the surrounding walls, revealing rows of cages behind them.
"Lord!" Suddenly a person stood up in one of the cages, anxiously shouting when she saw the others outside: "Medisha, Qian, I’m here!"
When Brand looked over there, his face turned grim. The person in the cage was none other than the Maid Corps Commander Yuta—while the other two cages on one side also contained Kevan, Joka and their group. They obviously also saw Brand and all had looks of plea in their eyes.
"Sir, can you help us?" Joka shouted loudly.
Brand remained silent; he didn’t want to lend a hand. He didn’t mind saving people in passing, but if he decided to help, according to the game rules, he would have to undergo at least five challenges. Calculating this way, the highest level challenge he would have to face might be the Secret Silver Sage.
This was no joke.
That thing was designed by the Rune Dwarves, standing at the Golden Peak of puppet creatures—one of only two kinds of puppet creatures close to the Enlightenment Element—the other being the Diamond Puppet designed by the Bujia Wizards, except the former was a Demon Swordsman, while the latter was purely a melee unit.
In this regard, the Rune Dwarves were evidently a notch above the Bujia’s craftsman wizards, which was also one of their prides.
Brand knew very well that facing a Golden Peak existence with just himself and Medisha was quite challenging, although including the Wind Spirit Spider, they might still have a chance; the hope was really too slim.
Therefore, he remained silent.
Then the young man waved his hand: "Qian, you go! Don’t overdo it, just surrender directly!"
"But Captain Yuta..." Qian asked softly.
"I will save her," Brand replied, "Go ahead."
The red-haired girl nodded, grabbed her Thunder Gun tightly with one hand, and pulled the already scared miner with the other hand, entering the arena.
The arena immediately erupted in thunderous cheers. Brand listened carefully for a moment, then realized the audience was shouting ’Blazing Claw! Blazing Claw!’ Though he knew that all these were just products between fantasy and reality, he couldn’t help but feel a slight, inexplicable tension.
