Amber Sword-Chapter 660: Act 78: King of the Underground (29) (2nd update, stay tuned)
But Brand knew that it was impossible for him to continue to the next challenge, even though the fifth battle did not encounter the Secret Silver Sage, which was an unexpected pleasant surprise. This did not mean, however, that the subsequent challenges would be easier.
There was no doubt that the sixth battle would be a duel of elements, and Brand did not even need to consider it.
Here, Otarais had already explained that she could not help him, and this time, he had neither the Heroic Spirit of the Silver Elf Guard by his side nor a little girl to help him solve problems.
In an elemental battle, whether it was himself, Medisha, or even if he used the Eternal Ball to replicate two Chars to assist, it would not make a difference. Even if Qian regained her strength and joined the battle, there would be no chance of winning.
The gap between the two levels was too obvious. This was why Qian couldn't even take a single move when she faced the Earth Envoy back then.
Thus, Brand did not consider it for too long. He immediately accepted the 'System's' request—to choose a reward. The roulette appeared once again before him. He pointed his finger at it, and the pointer quickly began to spin. As it slowed down, it once again passed over the 'Bloody Altar' and stopped on a card called 'Myriad Forest.'
"Damn."
Brand cursed softly. It seemed his luck was as bad as ever. He couldn't help but think it would be great if the Red-hand Soft Girl were here. However, this was clearly not the time to summon Furlo, as there was plenty to deal with in Fir City as well.
He stretched out his palm, and a grey, attribute-less card fell into his hands. The card read:
Myriad Forest
(Ten Thousand Scenic Wonders III)
30 Any 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
[Treasure—Sanctuary/Fantasy]
Attach, add 3 Equipment Indicators on the target creature (Dwarf/Cruz people).
'The Dwarven vault, shining with golden light—'
As the card descended, Otarais stood next to him and obviously saw it too. The purple-blue eyes of the elf woman flickered, but she thought for a moment and said nothing.
Brand's mind was entirely focused on the card in his hand, naturally unable to notice the reaction of the Holy Seal Soul beside him. Instead, he asked the others in his mind as he obtained the card:
"What do these Equipment Indicators mean?"
"Lord, did you get some good stuff again?" A slightly relaxed voice came from his mind, it was Char's voice. Brand was taken aback, Char was still in Fir City, and he immediately asked, "Can you hear me?"
"Of course." The image of Char shrugging appeared in Brand's thoughts: "I am the primary card. Medisha and Hu Que should all be able to hear. Lord, you did not specify to whom you were asking the question, so naturally, we all received the message."
"The connection between a Travel Mage and Summons is not limited by distance?" Brand thought this was a good thing, but he still asked, "How is the situation over there?"
"Hehe, Lord, take a guess?" Char deliberately sold a mystery: "There is a guy here who is full of doubts about your identity, waiting for you to come back and educate them."
Someone waiting for him to educate? Brand was puzzled by this, but he was not a person who let others lead the conversation, so he simply ignored Char's attempt to pique his curiosity and instead asked:
"Then who can explain what this thing is to me?" He gestured with the card in his hand.
"Equipment Indicators enhance a card's combat power. Lord, is the card you have in your hand bronze or silver?" Char did not mind Brand changing the topic, the master and servant were quite in sync.
"Bronze," replied Brand.
"A bronze Equipment Indicator can increase the natural level of a summoned creature by about five," said Medisha. The silver elf girl had been moved out of the field by the previous rule and was now positioned to the side of the duel arena across from Kulan.
"What is a natural level?" Brand asked again.
"The natural level should be the level indicated on the summoned creature card," Char replied.
The level on the card? Brand's mind stirred. He suddenly remembered that the Destiny Card seemed to be the only item in this world that spoke of creature levels—in most places, whether in this era or the dark age, people had long been accustomed to using boundaries to classify the strength and weakness of creatures.
