"It... it... saw us?" Faina stammered.

Brando quickly grabbed her: "Don't be stupid, it hasn't seen us yet. If it had, it would have attacked already. Keep your voice down, don't draw that thing over here."

He glanced again at the fifteen dragon heads coiled above the abyss, knowing full well that it was the gray gemstone in his hand that had triggered the Fog Nightmare's reaction. But it was strange; how did the gray gemstone relate to Aisis?

Thinking of this, he withdrew his gaze from behind the rock and pulled Faina back as well.

"Are you thinking of luring that woman here?"

The noblewoman crouched behind the rock, placing her hands on her skirt—though the edges of the skirt were already in tatters—and lowered her head to ponder before asking.

Brando was taken aback, raising his head in surprise at the blond twin-tailed girl.

"Wow, you're pretty smart for once—"

"What do you mean by that?" Faina gritted her teeth in anger, glaring fiercely at Brando.

"Shh—!" Brando gave her a stern look.

Faina jumped in fright and quickly lowered her voice: "How did you know something like this would be here? Does it have something to do with that gemstone in your hand?"

Brando chuckled softly.

"Got it right, care to guess more?"

"Hmph, even a fool could figure out such a trick, thinking you're clever——!"

Brando coughed, his face a bit flushed, but he quickly retorted sarcastically: "Really? No wonder you figured it out."

"You—!"

Faina raised her eyebrows, her twin-tailed hair almost bristling, but as soon as she saw Brando holding a finger to his lips, she immediately deflated.

"... Pesky Erune hillbilly." She muttered under her breath.

But Brando wasn't in the mood to bicker with her endlessly. He turned around, surveyed the surrounding terrain, and picked a spot where the Holy Multi-headed Dragon would have a harder time spotting them. Then he gestured to Faina, and together they cautiously moved over.

It was more like a crack on the cliff, from which they could clearly overlook the entire Abyss Valley, with the giant rock pit on the other side fully in view.

Choosing to hide here was both to better avoid the Holy Multi-headed Dragon's patrolling eyes and to monitor Andesa's movements.

He calculated that in no more than ten minutes, that woman should catch up.

Sure enough, before long, the silhouette of the Lord Withering appeared in the mist, tracking Brando and Faina by their traces. It was a challenge for her, as tracking in rocky wastelands often relied solely on residual scents.

However, at this moment, Andesa was still quite a distance from the giant rock pit, so she hadn't yet noticed the presence of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon in mid-air, and her direction was precisely in the dragon's blind spot.

Brando knew he couldn't let her advance any further, or it would arouse her suspicion.

He had to get things done before she realized it.

He took a deep breath.

"... Hey, hillbilly, will your plan really work?"

Faina, seeing Andesa appear, started to tense up again. She swallowed nervously, asking with a bit of unease.

Brando glanced at her with annoyance, thinking that his hard-earned courage and composure had been shattered by a single sentence from this woman.

But he had no time to dwell on it because as he pulled out the gray gemstone from his bosom, the phantom of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon began to move slowly, seemingly sensing the gemstone's aura, as fifteen heads surrounded and moved towards them.

Here it came! Brando's heart raced as he raised the gray gemstone, and the phantom of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon agitated as expected.

Their target was precisely the cliff area in this direction.

"Hill... hillbilly, what... what are you doing?" Faina, watching his actions, seemed to sense something was wrong.

But Brando did not intend to answer her, nor did he have the time, as by then, one of the gargantuan heads of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon had already plunged down from mid-air.

Without time to think, Brando immediately pushed Faina aside as he himself rolled to the side, leaving the Holy Multi-headed Dragon biting into thin air. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Then he rushed over to pull Faina up and ran, with four gigantic heads of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon bursting through the mist behind them, chasing them in an instant, one head even swooping so low it skimmed over the top of both of them, frightening the noblewoman into a scream as she crouched and hugged her head.

Brando, helpless, had to turn back, supporting her back with one arm and scooping under her knees with the other, lifting her horizontally, and then started sprinting towards the canyon below.

Fortunately, in this abyss, the multiple heads of the Holy Multi-headed Dragon could not act in concert easily. Otherwise, they would've surrounded Brando in an instant. However, now those fifteen heads merely collided and obstructed each other, making them a step slower than Brando.

Moreover, the cliff was rife with rock crevices, allowing Brando to weave through the cracks with Faina in his arms, leaving the Holy Multi-headed Dragon at a temporary loss.

As they pursued and fled, Brando quickly carried Faina, slipping down the cliff through a rock crevice. He made a turn at the valley, but immediately collided head-on with Andesa emerging from the mist.

Andesa held the Sword Scabbard of the Green Sky, which had fallen to the canyon below during his earlier draw on the cliff. The Green Sky itself was a Fantasy Level weapon, and its scabbard was also made of special materials, sustaining no damage despite the fall.

Yet, as the Female Shepherd Leader watched Brando leap forward with Faina in his arms through the mist to land before her, she couldn't help but freeze.

Her purple eyes stared at the young man in amazement, momentarily stunned before teasingly saying:

"What, delivering yourself here?"

But Brando shook his head.

"Looks like you already know the Lion Heart Sword isn't with me—" he gasped, then replied, eyeing the Sword Scabbard in Andesa's hand.

Andesa snorted coldly: "Doesn't matter, the Dark Messenger is more important to me."

"And what about this?"

"What thing?"

The Lord Withering was confused by Brando's words, but Brando had already flung the gemstone over. Andesa instinctively wanted to whip it away, but recognizing the gemstone, her expression changed instantly.

"The Sealing Fragment?"

Andesa immediately used her vine whip to coil it back.
