Chapter 759: 260. The Notorious Robert_3
On the road, he hummed an unknown tune.
“Maybe tomorrow I should go see Mr. Louis, see if he needs any help from me!”
In the car, Mario Hanna thought about the events that had unfolded that day.
Of course, the help he mentioned wasn’t about the “Atlantic City Post,” for Mario Hanna knew his own weight and who the true boss behind the “Atlantic City Post” was!
In fact, even if Donnie wasn’t the man behind the “Atlantic City Post,” Mario Hanna wouldn’t dare trouble the newspaper considering its current circulation, especially since the headquarters of the “Atlantic City Post” were not in Trenton.
What Mario Hanna had in mind was the issue concerning George Louis and Andre Louis. Maybe he could use his connections to find that girl named Brenda and persuade her not to accept any interviews.
...
Mario Hanna believed that such a small matter was within his power to manage.
However, as Mario Hanna drove up to his doorstep, suddenly two cars blocked the last bit of his pathway.
Upon seeing this situation, Mario Hanna didn’t hesitate to draw his service weapon.
Although Trenton is the capital of New Jersey, that doesn’t mean it’s safe.
“I am Trenton Police Chief Mario Hanna. Who are you?”
Mario Hanna, with gun in hand, was the first to disclose his identity.
Robert got out of his car, protected by his bodyguards, and spread his arms wide to show that he was unarmed.
However, Mario Hanna did not lower his guard, because his opponent’s behavior was overly alarming!
“Who are you? What do you want?”
Robert stepped out of the shadows and said smoothly, “Mr. Hanna, I just want to talk about something. I had no intention to start a conflict, but of course, if you keep being this defensive, my men might feel their lives are threatened, and I cannot promise what might happen then!”
As Robert finished speaking, the bodyguards who got out of the two cars also drew their guns!
“Wow, wow!”
Mario Hanna raised his hands high and said, “Sir, you should know what the consequences are for attacking a police chief!”
Robert walked up to Mario Hanna, took the gun from his hands, and smiled, “Of course I know, but rest assured, the consequences you’re thinking of and the ones I’m facing are not the same. The consequences I face actually go back two years, concerning that dancer… what was her name? That’s right, Dorothy Lillard!”
Mario Hanna’s face changed abruptly; he knew this woman too well since he had managed that case, and it was exactly because of that case that he had acquired everything he had now.
“Brother, you’re mistaken. That case is complex. I don’t know who you are, but I can assure you, it’s not as simple as you think!”
Robert smiled and said, “Is it because this matter is related to Mr. Arman Louis?”

Mario Hanna shook his head, “I don’t know what you’re talking about, but all I can tell you is that this case is not something you can touch!”
Robert, somewhat displeased, responded, “Since that’s what you say, it seems this isn’t the place for us to chat after all!”
As Robert’s words fell, his men promptly moved forward and subdued Mario Hanna!
“Hey, man, do you know what you’re doing?”
Mario Hanna struggled desperately; he hadn’t expected the other party would actually dare to lay hands on him.
He was a police chief after all; didn’t they have any reservations?
“Of course, it’s you who doesn’t know what you’re doing!” Robert received a hood from his subordinate’s hand and placed it directly over Mario Hanna’s head.
With his head now covered, Mario Hanna only heard the other party say, “Drive the car to our spot, otherwise, Mr. Hanna’s neighbors might think something’s happened, which wouldn’t be good!”
Afterward, Mario Hanna felt himself being stuffed into a car.
The car swayed back and forth, then stopped after twenty minutes.
They got out of the car, climbed the stairs, and then Mario Hanna was pushed onto a sofa.
Once the hood was removed, the dim light made it hard for Mario Hanna to adjust.
But soon enough, he realized his situation; he was locked in a dilapidated room.
The man who had been talking to him was sitting right across from him!
“Alright, Mr. Mario Hanna, let me introduce myself. My name is Robert Lillard. Perhaps you’ve heard of me. My boss is somewhat in a hurry with what he wants done, and since you have been rather disobedient, now we have to start our conversation this way!”
A cold chill ran down Mario Hanna’s spine, and his whole body involuntarily shivered!
Seeing Mario Hanna’s reaction, Robert smiled, “It seems you’ve heard my name!”
Mario Hanna, of course, had heard the name Robert Lillard – he knew this man was the second-in-command of the Block conglomerate!
Although Donnie had not yet established a group to manage his companies, some people had already started referring to Donnie’s businesses as the Block conglomerate.
Hanna, having been a police chief, had naturally visited Atlantic City for leisure and was very satisfied with that trip.
If it hadn’t been in such circumstances, he would have greeted Robert with great enthusiasm!
But now, he stood opposed to Robert!
He knew Donnie was at war with Arman Louis, but he hadn’t expected that they would come after him and dig up that case from two years ago!
This terrified him!
