Chapter 58: Tang Lishen Tragedy : Part 2

Han Meiyu moved gracefully toward her chamber. As she progressed, maids and guards who crossed her path promptly paused their tasks, bowing deeply in respect. She acknowledged them with a subtle nod but kept her pace, exuding authority and elegance.

Han Meiyu’s hall chamber soon came into view, revealing a spacious and tranquil setting. The floor was crafted from polished black stone, its surface smooth and unyielding to the touch, exuding a coolness that contrasted with warm ambient light. Subtle breaches in the stone revealed faint traces of intricate Cultivation arrays, carefully embedded into the surface. These arrays occasionally emitted a soft, shimmering glow as faint streams of spiritual energy passed through, highlighting the refined craftsmanship and mystical aura of the chamber.

She crossed the hall and settled into the central seat, her posture majestic as she folded one leg over the other like a queen claiming her throne. Han Meiyu picked up her tea, gently sweeping the surface of the liquid and watching as the ripples gradually settled. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Earlier, she had already given her command. All her disciples were to gather in the hall immediately–except for Tang Lishen. Thankfully, their quick arrival was apparent as footsteps echoed as two figures entered the hall. Han Maiyu had only three disciples in total, including Tang Lishen.

Both bowed respectfully. The young man, Lin Feng, wore a sharp, upright expression, embodying confidence. Slightly behind him stands Luo Yan, her eldest disciple. She wore a calm, lingering smile. "Master, you’ve returned," Luo Yan asked.

Han Meiyu glanced at them, a faint smile touching her lips. "Sit." Lin Feng and Luo Yan quickly took their seats beside her. After a brief silence, Lin Feng’s brow furrowed as he looked around the hall again before speaking with a tinge of annoyance. "Master, where is Tang Lishen? Everyone else has already arrived. Is he ignoring your summons now?" He snorted dismissively. "His arrogance is growing day by day.

Lin Feng turned toward Luo Yan, his voice softening with a hint of concern. "Senior Sister, don’t you think so? He clearly doesn’t respect the Master enough."

"He will come, there’s no need to rush to conclusions; Luo Yan replied gently. But Lin Feng’s eyes narrowed, suspicion flickering. Why is it always him? His thoughts sharpened. Why do you always speak up for Tang Lishen?

"Are you still defending him?" Lin Feng asked, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction. He looked away briefly, frustration evident. "Regardless of the facts, someone like him should be disciplined. Talent alone isn’t enough–character is what truly counts."

Luo Yan cast a fleeting glance toward the hall’s entrance before lowering her gaze again. Her voice softened with understanding. "Junior Brother Tang isn’t reckless. He simply has unwavering faith in himself."

Lin Feng sneered coldly. "That’s just another way of saying he’s arrogant." He hesitated, then cautiously added, "Senior Sister, you shouldn’t get too involved with him. Someone like Tang Lishen only invites trouble."

"That’s not for you to decide," she replied firmly. Lin Feng opened his mouth to protest but then closed it abruptly, his ears flushing faintly. "I... I just don’t want you to be influenced by him," he admitted, almost whispering to himself.

At that moment, Han Meiyu finally spoke. "I agree with Lin Feng." Her tone was calm, almost indifferent, yet those simple words caused Lin Feng to lose his composure instantly. He had expected support, but not agreement so openly stated. "Master... you too?" he asked, disbelief written clearly across his face. Luo Yan’s heart tightened at those words. She looked at Han Meiyu with a faint trace of pain in her eyes. "Master... it can’t be..." she asked, unwilling to believe what this implied.

Han Meiyu did not respond with further explanation. Instead, she raised her hand, and a red envelope appeared in her palm, summoned from her space ring. She flicked her wrist and sent it toward Luo Yan. Luo Yan caught it instinctively. As she unfolded the letter and began reading, her expression gradually shifted. The more her eyes moved across the words, the more her face paled. Her breathing became uneven, and a faint tremor passed through her fingers. Lin Feng immediately noticed the change. Frowning, he stepped closer and took the letter from her hand.

As his eyes scanned the contents, his initial confusion slowly turned into a restrained smile. The corners of his lips lifted slightly, unable to hide his satisfaction. Luo Yan looked back at Han Meiyu, "Master... this can’t be true, right?" There was still hope in her tone, as if she wanted to hear a denial.

"Why do you think this meeting was arranged?" Han Meiyu asked calmly. "This letter was issued by the Sect Master himself. Are you questioning her authority?" The words were not loud, but they carried weight. Luo Yan immediately lowered her head. "This disciple would not dare." Han Meiyu leaned back in her seat. "Tang Lishen will arrive shortly. We will confirm everything directly from him before taking any action."

Those words steadied Luo Yan’s heart a little. If there was still a chance to explain, then perhaps the matter was not decided yet. Beside her, Lin Feng’s smile widened faintly. He already knew what kind of person Tang Lishen was. In his mind, this letter only confirmed what he had long believed. He could not help feeling a flicker of anticipation at the thought of what punishment might follow, and how this would finally open Luo Yan’s eyes.

Before the silence grew heavy again, Han Meiyu spoke once more. "Before he arrives, tell me clearly what happened during the outer sect tournament." Luo Yan exhales a long breath and begins recounting the events in detail. Lin Feng listened as well, though his thoughts drifted toward the coming confrontation. Nearly fifteen minutes passed before footsteps echoed from outside the hall.

Tang Lishen entered the grand hall. The moment he crossed the threshold, he felt the atmosphere was different from usual, but he did not show it on his face. He walked forward and stopped at a proper distance before Han Meiyu, then bowed respectfully. "Master, it’s good to see you again."
