Angle's Arrogance? My Pact with the Succubus Queen!-Chapter 290: The Dawn Blade is Officially Formed!
The figure had no physical form. It was made of semi-transparent data streams and electric light, with a vague face, but its voice was clear.
"Logan Latio?" Turing’s voice had a synthetic electronic tone, vibrating through the air. "A thirty-six-star gold bloodline that wasn’t controlled. That’s interesting. The speed at which you lit your star marks is beyond my expectations."
After speaking, Turing’s eyes suddenly filled with moving data streams. A scanning wave swept over Logan’s body.
Logan’s pupils narrowed. He felt the other was scanning him. He immediately released his familiar energy to resist.
At the same time, his soul core sent out a resonance, forming a protective layer around his soul sea.
Turing saw that Logan’s defenses were strong, and he knew he couldn’t find out Logan’s secrets. His voice came again: "Sorry. As a data life, I’m naturally curious about the unknown. I just want to know how you lit the other eight star marks."
Logan’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t answer Turing’s question.
Seeing Logan’s alert look, Turing’s data streams flickered slightly. He smiled: "Logan, don’t be nervous. In Pinocchini, and the data company I represent, we are your biggest allies."
He extended an arm made of electric light. A card made of energy appeared in the air. "This is your temporary resident card for Pinocchini. Get familiar with the area. Come to the central district in three days. I need to talk to you about something."
Logan took the card. His fingertips felt a slight electric shock and a cold feeling. "You’re giving me this for free? What do you want from me?"
Turing’s figure began to fade, his data turning into blue lights that dissolved into the air. "Of course, I want you to become a Saint. Only as a Saint can you help me and help Pinocchini."
"Everything I’ve given you now is an angel investment. So don’t let me down, Logan. I and Pinocchini have been waiting for you for a long time."
After Turing disappeared, Logan gripped the card tightly. His eyes were deep. "Waiting for me? It seems the leaders of Pinocchini know about the secret on me. But what do they want to use me for?"
"Logan, what did Turing say?" Hiyua ran up from below, looking worried.
"He gave me this." Logan said, showing the card. It glowed slightly in the sunlight. "I’ll go see him in three days."
Then he looked into the factory. "Hiyua, don’t worry about Turing. We need to turn this place into a real base."
"Okay!"
Hiyua led Logan to the underground of the factory and opened a hidden door, revealing a staircase that led down.
"This used to be a secret room of the Latio family. It had some gene lock research materials." Hiyua touched the old wall and looked around. "After the family fell, this place was forgotten. But the equipment should still work."
Logan entered the room.
It was small. The walls were made of a special alloy that blocked energy waves.
In the center stood an old alchemy device, covered in dust, but its main parts were still intact. It had the Latio family’s eagle emblem on its surface.
"Gwen." Logan called.
"Coming!" Gwen ran in.
She looked at the alchemy device and her eyes lit up. "Is this a gene lock analyzer from Pinocchini?"
She touched the runes on the device’s surface. Her fingers felt the cold metal. "It’s a bit old, but the design is different from the Federation’s. It can complement ours!"
Gwen smiled confidently. "My knowledge of potions and this analysis ability can create something new."
"Can you fix it?" Logan asked.
He could feel the shy girl was excited.
"Of course!" Gwen nodded confidently and started checking the power cables. "Give me half a day, and I’ll get it working."
She said this while plugging in the device: "These machines can help us analyze the local medicine in Pinocchini. We can improve our formulas. Maybe we’ll find a way to solve the dimensional suppression problem."
Logan nodded. "Then I’ll leave it to you."
He turned around and started assigning the girls their tasks.
Jessica, Lilith, and Kerparos would clean the base and set up new defenses and traps.
Yelena and Sawako would look into the environment and people around the thirteenth district . Fischl would secretly deal with spies.
Natalia, Sophia, and Lucia had been to Pinocchini before and knew it better. They were in charge of checking out other districts.
Everyone split up and started working. Logan went back to the old house and spent the day teaching Mario about the Latio family’s history and traditions.
Half a day later, in the underground of Red Star Forge.
"Success!"
Gwen’s excited voice came from the basement.
The alchemy machine made a deep rumble, and the runes lit up with blue light, brightening the dark room.
Gwen immediately started analyzing the Pinocchini medicine samples she had gotten from Nel, Bobbi, and others.
"The chemical makeup is very different from the Federation’s medicines," Gwen said, frowning at the data and pushing up her glasses.
The Federation’s medicines focused on boosting life energy, while Pinocchini’s focused on gene lock resonance. This was a completely new field for Gwen.
But instead of being scared, she got to work and studied carefully.
She started mixing medicines, trying to combine the Federation’s [Healing Potion] with Pinocchini’s [Energy Potion].
In the test tube, the two liquids mixed. A flash of golden light appeared, and the mix gave off a smell of herbs mixed with metal.
While the two medicines reacted, Gwen used a small alchemy array she had learned from the Federation.
Soon, the two medicines reacted inside the array and created a brand-new ingredient.
"Success! A new [Stable Healing Potion]!" Gwen shouted and jumped up.
At the same time, Nel came to find Logan.
She wore a tight black combat suit and had a small device on her belt.
"Logan, I think you need to know everything about Pinocchini," Nel said, looking at Logan. Her eyes no longer showed anger — they were full of respect.
"Go on." Logan said, sitting at the desk and pulling a chair over.
Nel spread out an old map and pointed at the marks, explaining.
It turned out that Pinocchini was controlled by eight big companies, which managed the economy and upper society.
Thirteen families ruled over the thirteen districts where common people lived, handling daily life.
In Pinocchini, the Dream Committee was the highest power, made up of representatives from the thirteen families and the eight companies.
Right now, the committee had three main groups.
The conservative group, led by the Vanzo family, wanted to keep things the same. They didn’t want Pinocchini to keep exploring lost worlds and wanted peace with the forces from those worlds.
The war group, led by Black, wanted to expand. They were war lovers who hated everything from the lost worlds. Even Black thought the Federation should be conquered.
The third group was the reform group, led by Turing. They wanted to push technology forward and improve the human race. They believed in using science and new discoveries to make humans stronger.
Compared to the other two groups, the reform group cared the most about the common people. Turing always believed that a hero’s background didn’t matter, which is why he had strong support from the common people.
Nel paused and looked at Logan with a hint of hesitation.
Logan saw this and smiled. "Go on. This info is useful for me."
Nel looked serious. She drew a few circles on the map. "Actually, the thirteen families and eight companies don’t get along. They also have a strict social order."
"Among the thirteen families, the top ones are Vanzo, Rimer, and Toredo. Each has several Saint-level warriors. They’re watching you closely now."
"Also, the eighth company — the equipment company — is close to the Brutus family. Because of that, the eighth company might try to take you down later."
Logan heard this and tapped the desk with his fingers. He smiled coldly. "Let them come."
Meanwhile, in the secret room under Red Star Forge, Bobbi quietly walked in, holding a few bottles of medicine. "Gwen, try this."
Bobbi handed over a blue potion, still cold to the touch. "This is a special Pinocchini [Frost Resistance Potion]. It keeps your body warm in extreme cold."
"It’s a must-have for our scouting team when we go on missions in the ice fields. Mix it with beer, and it tastes great."
Gwen took the potion and her eyes lit up. "Let me check it out."
She used her device to analyze the ingredients. Her eyes got bigger and bigger. "Interesting. If we use Federation extraction techniques to purify it, the effect and taste should be even better!"
As soon as Bobbi heard that Gwen knew how to improve potions, she got excited and became her helper.
The two girls started talking passionately about potion-making. They leaned close, pointing at test tubes and machines, discussing everything.
Before they knew it, they were already comfortable with each other.
They found their recipes were very different, and they started working together on an experiment.
"If we combine Federation technology with Pinocchini’s methods... maybe we can make a better formula," Gwen said, her eyes shining. She used her fingers, covered in potion, to do calculations in the air.
"If we make a new flavor of Frost Resistance Potion... we could make a lot of money. Everyone in Pinocchini is a drinker, and they spend a lot on beer every day!" Bobbi said excitedly, her face red and cute.
Just thinking about how Gwen’s research might help her pay off her never-ending credit card bills gave Bobbi endless energy.
