Chapter 161 - 161 ⟴ The End of Tutoring, Final Assessment

Long-absent sunlight streamed into the living room.

The quintuplets sat in their apartment, diligently filling out their test papers.

With his ability to see through people, Daiki could easily read Miku's thoughts, and he didn't want to make her uncomfortable any longer.

Besides, he had spent sufficient time at the quintuplets' apartment — their grades had improved from passing to excellent. The initial tutoring goal had been achieved, and staying longer would only mean dealing with Nino and Yotsuba's nightly disturbances.

Though he possessed the Yin-Yang Primordial Technique and Embryonic Breathing Technique to quickly restore his strength, he had to consider the others' well-being. The late-night activities had clearly exhausted Yotsuba and Itsuki, even if Ichika and Nino could recover by gathering Spiritual Power.

Therefore, Daiki proposed a half-day of final tutoring followed by a concluding test — a perfect end to the tutoring plan.

This thoughtful gesture increased Miku's fondness while making her feel guilty, as if she had somehow wronged him. During the test, she sat distracted, twirling her slim ballpoint pen between her fingers, her answer sheet blank.

Smack!

Her little head received a karate chop.

Miku lifted her head with a resentful look and finally began writing answers.

The other four around the rectangular wooden table wrote as if divinely inspired, their pens making rhythmic scratching sounds against the paper.

'Easy! This is too easy! Indeed, compared to hard work, I prefer taking shortcuts.' Yotsuba's heart sang with joy, never having found the world so simple before.

After several days of intensive tutoring, Daiki had broken down the knowledge into digestible pieces and transferred it all into her brain. Now when she saw questions, answers and solution methods appeared automatically in her mind; she just needed to follow the thought process and calculate.

After two days of focused effort, she had surpassed Itsuki in knowledge, second only to Nino and Ichika. However, those two had been more focused on learning Sorcerer knowledge, having already mastered Black Flash and Reverse Cursed Technique.

In terms of pure academic knowledge, Yotsuba now ranked first, thanks to her boundless energy and determination.

"So this is... the level I've always wanted to reach?" Itsuki, wearing red-framed glasses, her ahoge swaying gently, beamed with joy on her delicate, fair face.

She finally grasped how Daiki and other top students approached problems — what once seemed impossible now had clear solutions right in front of her!

"But... my thinking... my approach to problems... my answering pattern... they've all taken on Daiki-kun's shape..." Her ahoge continued swaying, reflecting her inner confusion, yet her hand moved steadily across the paper.

"This is actually quite simple! How did I not understand any of this before?" Looking at the surprisingly straightforward questions, Nino felt embarrassed about her past struggles.

Though she had her reasons back then, she now wondered if others had seen the quintuplets as slow learners.

"This ends now! With Daiki-kun's tutoring, my grades will stay strong, and I can even help teach Miku and the others myself." She smiled, pleased with her plans for their academic future.

Resting her jade-like chin on her hand, Ichika absently filled out the test paper, her gaze drifting toward Daiki.

"Daiki-kun's leaving today! Will I lose my chance to help him refine his Spiritual Power? And that calculating little kōhai next door — what if she tries to steal him away?"

Unlike her sisters, Ichika often accompanied Daiki outside, meeting troublemakers like Haruno and crafty girls like Iroha. While the others only worried about studies, as the eldest quintuplet, she had broader concerns.

"Ugh"... though the work seemed easier now, the math tutoring hadn't been enough — she was still far from excellent. "Well, if this is all I can manage, everyone's scores should be similar. I'll ask Daiki-kun for private lessons later." When Miku reached the final question, she scratched her head and, lacking confidence, decided to move on.

From her corner seat, Ichika watched the focused Miku, her eyes narrowing as her lips curved into a smile. Her pen suddenly dropped to the floor.

She ducked under the table to retrieve it, making Nino's face turn pale as she glanced at Miku. But the girl remained absorbed in the test, oblivious to Ichika's actions.

An electric tingle ran through her body — Ichika was being quite daring. Such thrilling possibilities... Nino hesitated briefly before dropping her own pen, peering down to see Big Daiki under attack.

"Damn it! Let go of him! Let me!" She glared at her sister fiercely before joining the struggle, causing enough commotion to make Itsuki look up.

"Hm? Where are Nino and the others?" She glanced at Yotsuba, whose flushed face and darting eyes toward the floor made Itsuki's eyes widen in disbelief.

She slipped under the table while Miku remained distracted, only to witness a scene as outrageous as the previous night's events.

'Miku's still here! How can they do such things? No! I must stop them! This can't continue!'

Itsuki attempted to quietly separate the two but got caught in the struggle herself. In the confusion, Big Daiki accidentally bumped her delicate nose.

Warm breath wafted over her face as she caught glimpses of Nino and Ichika's figures. Her eyes darted about while thoughts of Daiki's impending departure filled her mind.

'Well, Daiki-kun is leaving in two to four days anyway, and considering last night — which is technically today — perhaps we should wait until tomorrow?'

She lowered her head with a tremor while the other two continued their tussle.

The sudden quiet beneath the table led Yotsuba to believe it was over.

But when she peeked down, she saw it was no different from yesterday.

'No! For Miku's sake, I can't let this nonsense continue!'

Meanwhile, the main character remained blissfully absorbed in answering questions.

When the final test ended, Miku snapped back to awareness, amazed to find all the test papers filled with her handwriting. In the past, she would have struggled even to understand the basic questions, let alone answer them with such focus.

'Hehe, these results will definitely shock Daiki-kun!'

With full confidence, she handed all the test papers to her boyfriend.
