Chapter 202: Chapter 182: Finalizing the Contract with YaDo and Animation Plan

Friday, February 14, 1992 – Noon

After returning to ZAGE headquarters, Zaboru wasted no time. While Shinsuke left again to handle marketing matters, Zaboru immediately sought out Kudou, ZAGE's trusted legal advisor. Kudou was busy sorting through stacks of paperwork, ensuring all legal aspects of the company were managed properly.

"Kudou, I have a job for you," Zaboru said, placing a fresh cup of coffee on Kudou's desk. "I need you to draft a contract for ZAGE's acquisition of an animation company called YaDo. Standard terms: they can only work on ZAGE projects, a five-year extendable contract, and financial support to help them grow. It needs to be ready by today because I'll be presenting it to them first thing tomorrow."

Kudou arched an eyebrow. "Boss, you never stop, do you?" He took a sip of the coffee, smirking. "Alright, I'll get it done. Luckily, I've had enough practice drawing up contracts for ZAGE's acquisitions. I can handle this quickly."

Zaboru gave Kudou a nod of appreciation before heading back to his own work. The rest of the day was spent refining ZAGE's ongoing projects, ensuring that everything was running smoothly before he took the next step toward expanding into animation.

Saturday, February 15, 1992 – Morning

The next morning, the contract was ready. Kudou, always thorough, had ensured that all legal aspects were ironclad. As they prepared to meet YaDo's representatives, Kudou accompanied Zaboru.

"You don't need to come, you know," Zaboru said as they made their way to the meeting room.

Kudou grinned. "How can that be? What if YaDo's lawyer tries to deceive you, Boss?"

Zaboru chuckled. "Just admit you want the overtime pay."

Kudou laughed. "Well... that's part of it."

Before long, Yasu Domachi arrived, accompanied by his legal team. After exchanging greetings, they all moved to the conference room where the contract details were laid out.

"So, Domachi-san, ZAGE has prepared the official contract for our partnership with YaDo Animation," Zaboru said, sliding the document across the table. "Please take a look."

Yasu nodded and gestured for his lawyer to examine the contract. The key points included:

- ZAGE will become the official partner of YaDo.

- YaDo can only work on ZAGE projects.Z

- AGE will provide animation projects for YaDo.

- YaDo will be paid per project by ZAGE.

- YaDo must follow ZAGE's guidance on animation direction and style.

- ZAGE will provide capital investment upon contract approval.

- YaDo must ensure animation quality meets ZAGE's standards.

- The contract is valid for five years and extendable.

As Yasu's lawyer reviewed the details, he highlighted a few clauses, particularly points five and seven, as potential areas of concern.

Yasu looked up. "Ren-san, what do points five and seven mean exactly?"

Zaboru leaned back in his chair, a confident smile on his face. "It simply means that YaDo must deliver animation quality that meets our expectations. We also require you to follow our specific artistic direction."

Yasu frowned. "And what happens if we don't meet your expectations?"

Updat𝓮d from frёewebnoѵēl.com.

Zaboru's smile remained unchanged. "Then you fix it."

The room was silent for a moment before Zaboru continued, his tone lighthearted. "Don't worry, Domachi-san. This isn't about micromanaging every frame—you'll still have creative input. This clause is just to ensure we don't receive subpar work made just to cash in."

Yasu thought for a moment. He felt a strong gut instinct that he should sign. He took a deep breath and then nodded. "Fine then!"

With a firm stroke, he signed the contract.

Zaboru smiled, shaking Yasu's hand. "Now, we're officially partners, Domachi-san."

Yasu returned the handshake. "Ren-san, now that we've signed, can you finally tell me your detailed plans for YaDo?"

Zaboru's smile widened. "Of course. Let's head to my office."

Inside Zaboru's Office...

Once inside, just the two of them, Zaboru leaned forward. "First, I plan to produce a SpongeBob anime."

Yasu's eyebrows shot up. "Wait... you mean SpongeBob SquarePants? As in, the video game character?"

Zaboru nodded. "Exactly. I've already envisioned the storyline and art style. I need YaDo to execute it properly."

Yasu slowly nodded, intrigued. "That makes sense, considering its success as a game. What else?"

Zaboru's eyes gleamed with excitement. "I also want to create a completely original anime before adapting it into a game. And the one I'm most passionate about right now is called Sailor Moon."

Yasu blinked. "Sailor Moon? What kind of anime is that?"

Zaboru chuckled. "Think of Super Sentai but with an all-female cast in sailor uniforms, using magical powers instead of combat gear."

Yasu's face twisted in disbelief. "Why would you make something like that? Who's going to watch it?"

Zaboru smirked. "You'd be surprised by the power of Mahou Shoujo."

Yasu still looked skeptical, what is Mahou Shoujo even mean? "I get SpongeBob because it's based on an established game, but Sailor Moon? I don't know, Ren-san."

Zaboru leaned back. "You don't have to believe in it yet. Just follow my lead. If I'm right, we'll create something groundbreaking."

Yasu exhaled, rubbing his temples. "Fine. You better make this work, Ren-san. I'll trust your vision—for now."

Zaboru grinned. "That's all I ask."

As Yasu left the office, deep in thought, he couldn't shake the feeling that he had just stepped into something much bigger than he had imagined. And somehow... he was excited.

"I really hope ZAGE provides us with the right resources and creative freedom to deliver quality animations. If not, YaDo could struggle, or worse, fail entirely... sigh. But still, what is Zaboru Renkonan even thinking? A female Sentai team wearing sailor uniforms? Who's going to watch that? I really hope he is the genius Yamaguchi-san claims he is, or else this might just be a disaster!"

With that ZAGE official partnership with YaDo begin!
