Chapter 213: Chapter 191: Wataru Playing Dragon Quest 5
After eating and taking a shower, Wataru eagerly returned to his room, ready to dive back into his adventure in Dragon Quest.
Wataruni and his party ventured into a deep, eerie cave, slaying enemies as they advanced. The deeper they went, the darker the atmosphere became, until they reached the final chamber. There, a strange symbol was carved into the wall, glowing faintly.
"Hmm? What is this wall?" Wataruni wondered, approaching it. When he interacted with it, a prompt appeared:
"An Evil Being is Sealed within this rune. Release it?"
Wataru hesitated. "What evil being?" He selected Yes, but another message appeared:
"You must be at least Level 40 to break this seal."
His eyes widened. "Level 40?! What the hell?! Does that mean I need to beat the game first and then come back here?" his characters are just level 24 now!
Sighing, Wataru took note of the location and continued his journey.
He then continued playing Dragon Quest, venturing across vast lands, battling formidable monsters, and completing various side quests. Along the way, he upgraded his equipment, and uncovered hidden secrets that enriched his journey. His primary goal remained clear—to reach Rhone, the treacherous final battleground where destiny awaited.
To enter Rhone, the final battleground, Wataruni needed five mystical crests:
Water Crest – Found in the Tower of Wind while rescuing the princess.Moon Crest – Obtained after defeating the Sabre Lion in Ostefair Castle.Sun Crest – Discovered within the Fire Shrine.Star Crest – Granted by the Ancestor's Spirit in Tantegel Castle.Final Crest – Hidden in the Cave of Rhone, just before the entrance to Rhone itself.
After gathering all five crests, Wataruni and his party entered Rhone, finally reaching Hargon's Castle. The final battle was upon them.
As they stepped into the dark throne room, Hargon sneered.
"You dare challenge me? Foolish mortals, I will destroy you!"
Wataru, confident in his party's abilities, led a well-coordinated assault. His careful planning and strategy paid off—Hargon fell before them, unable to withstand their strength.
But as he collapsed, he let out a sinister laugh.
"You may have defeated me... but you have only sealed your fate! Behold my master, Malroth!"
Malroth then laugh and said
"Fools! Hargon was merely my pawn! Now, you shall perish!"
The room shook violently. A monstrous roar echoed as Hargon's body was engulfed in darkness, revealing his true master—Malroth, the Evil God!
Malroth loomed over the battlefield, his scaled body towering over Wataruni's party. His breath attack dealt immense damage, forcing Wataru to rely on constant healing spells from the princess.
"Damn! This guy is insane!" Wataru muttered, his hands gripping the controller tightly.
It was a grueling battle. Malroth struck fast and hard, but Wataru's expert strategy—using buffs, debuffs, and quick reactions—kept the party alive. After an intense showdown, Wataruni landed the final blow. Malroth let out a horrifying scream before vanishing into nothingness.
The battle was won.
After Marloth left, the scene changed.
Princess Moonbrooke cheered, "We did it! Hargon and Malroth are gone!"
The Prince of Cannock nodded, "Yes! The world is safe again!"
As the screen faded to black, the heroes exited Hargon's Castle. The cursed lands of Rhone began to heal, the dark sky clearing. The old man at the Shrine of Rhone welcomed them:
"The darkness has lifted... The world is at peace once more! You truly are the descendants of the great hero of Alefgard!"
A prompt appeared: Return to Castle?
Just as Wataru was about to confirm, he suddenly remembered.
"Oh wait! That seal in the cave! I'm Level 41 now—I should be able to open it!"
Excited, he chose No and returned to the cave instead.
Wataru then came back to the previous cave that needed level 40 to open.
Inside the cave, the moment Wataruni touched the rune, the seal shattered. A mysterious figure in a gray helmet and blue visor emerged, surrounded by an ominous black aura.
It was Zabo-Man!
Wataru gasped. "Zabo-Man!? Didn't he die in the cave back then?!"
Zabo-Man's voice echoed through the chamber, his tone filled with pain.
"You... You must be that hero's descendant. Listen carefully—my soul is the only thing holding back this evil force. You must end me before it escapes into the world!"
Wataruni had no choice. The party engaged in battle against Evil Zabo-Man!
The fight was brutal—Zabo-Man was faster and stronger than Malroth! He unleashed devastating attacks, but occasionally, his true self resurfaced, holding the evil at bay. These rare moments gave Wataruni and his team an opportunity to strike.
After a hard-fought battle, Wataruni finally delivered the finishing blow.
Zabo-Man's body disintegrated, and he said in text.
"Thank you... young hero... You are very cool..."
Wataru smiled. "So, you died in this game, huh, Zabo-Man? You really were cool."
With that, Wataruni returned to Midenhall Castle.
After Wataruni and the party came back to the castle ,they were welcomed as champions. The King of Midenhall beamed with pride.
"My son! You have done it! The world is safe once more!"
He turned to the other heroes.
"Prince of Cannock, Princess of Moonbrooke, you have fought bravely! The legacy of our bloodline lives on!"
Then, the King addressed Wataruni directly.
"But your journey does not end here. You must now take the throne and rule over this kingdom with wisdom and strength!"
The Prince of Cannock stepped forward.
"And I shall return to Cannock, where I will serve my people!"
The Princess of Moonbrooke smiled.
"Moonbrooke shall be rebuilt! I will ensure my kingdom rises once more!"
The King nodded. "May your rule be long and just! You are true heroes, worthy of our legendary bloodline!"
The screen faded to black as the credits rolled.
Wataru leaned back, grinning. "That was so cool!"

But then, an epilogue scene played.
The three heroes were shown walking away from Midenhall Castle, each heading toward their own destinies. A catchy theme song played, signifying the continuation of their adventures. Then, the final words appeared:
"Thus, peace returned to the land. The descendants of the hero fulfilled their destiny, and their story became legend... But many more adventures await in the land of Alefgard."
With that, the game ended.
Wataru sat in stunned silence. "Whoa... That was intense!"
He stretched, feeling exhaustion wash over him. Something felt off. Why was his body so weak? Why was he so sleepy?
Then he looked at the clock.
4:00 AM.
"Wait... WHAT?! I played for nine hours straight!?"
He suddenly remembered—his mom had scolded him and told him to eat at 6:00 PM. After taking a break, he started playing again at 7:00 PM... and now it was morning! He hadn't slept at all!
"Holy crap, I need to sleep!"
With a final grin, dreaming of becoming a true Dragon Quest hero, Wataru collapsed onto his bed, instantly passing out.
