Chapter 26 - Going With Dumgrith

When the next day came, Atlas realised it was still two days before classes started. He was hungry and thirsty, and there was nothing in his room, naturally, since he had just arrived. On top of that, he didn't want to eat the food he had packed in his magic bag.

It was good for him that nothing in his inventory was spoilt and that the things he put in hot and the stuff he put in cold came out the same way.

That's why he wanted to make a big stock of food. On top of that, there were faces he wanted to find.

Still, he had to satisfy his hunger right now.

With his quick steps, he was passing through the corridors of the rooms where the upper-level students stayed. He was aware of the eyes fixed on him, it was incredible in his eyes that his name had spread so much in one day.

After a short time, he came to the area where the cafeteria was. He couldn't even remember the last time he had eaten here.

Like every other student, he queued up and after almost ten minutes of waiting, he took his food and went to an empty table.

After a short time, every table around was full except his table. Atlas even wondered for a few seconds if he was being excluded.

Still, he didn't think anyone other than the senior students knew his face. He had already noticed that every single student in the cafeteria had chosen to sit close to their group of friends. This meant that there was no exclusion, just that no one recognised Atlas.

While all these thoughts were sorting through his mind, a girl and a boy approached his table, and then the male among them said, "Do you mind if we sit here? Everywhere else is full..." he asked.

When Atlas gestured with his hand, the two sat down on the chairs and then started chatting.

"Have you heard?" the male of the pair suddenly asked and then added, "It's rumoured that Lady Cordelia has chosen a first-year student as her personal student."

"Yes, I heard...Isn't that interesting? I've even wondered if it was a favouritism thing, you know? It doesn't make any sense though. How many people in the world would be able to make Cordelia such an offer? Even the Sages can barely do that..." the girl of the duo replied.

"True, but I heard that the name of the person chosen as a personal student was Atlas. You know, Atlas...Grand Lady Eva's younger brother who is about to become a tenth-grade aura-master." said the male of the duo.

With his words, each of the eyes and ears in the surroundings turned to the two who had spoken. They had also heard little things, but none of them knew everything so clearly.

"No way, holy cow...why would Lady Cordelia take an aura student as a personal student?" questioned the girl of the duo.

"Get a grip, silly! It is said that Atlas learnt magic instead of following in his sister's footsteps...that's what I heard from the professor. He can even use white fire and black ice." replied the male of the duo.

At that moment, a few people wearing white clothes with [Student Committee] written on their backs entered through the cafeteria doors.

"Unbelievable, is such a thing even possible? A first-year student..." the girl of the duo screamed.

And with these words, the people in white clothes approached the table. The two were instantly silent, looking around, thinking that they had done something wrong. At that moment, those words that no one expected were heard:

"Mr Atlas, may I ask why you didn't come to the cafeteria in the upper rooms?"

With these words, Atlas shrugged his shoulders looking at the duo next to him and then got up from his seat and said, "I don't know the academy, this was the cafeteria my sister told me, so I came here."

At the same time, one of the people dressed in white clothes gently extended his hand, bowed and then said, "Sir, you are technically the most important student in the academy, we need to be with you 24/7, please follow us."

The girl who said these words was smiling and almost inviting Atlas to come with her.

With that, Atlas stood up. This was not the only reason he came to the cafeteria. There weren't many bad people among the nobles of the country and the academy, not really, but there were still some racists and devil worshippers.

It was normal for some of the nobles to be racist, but at least there were no devil worshippers among them.

This meant that Atlas knew exactly what he was doing, and perhaps only Cordelia knew the academy better than he did. He was just trying to find the devil worshippers among the normal students.

He knew the names and faces of each of them, he just had to stumble upon them and find a way to destroy them.

"Very well, my lady, I will follow you," Atlas said suddenly. He took the hand of the girl who had offered it to him and began to walk gently.

The fact that he was walking in front of the student committee already told the committee that Atlas knew everything.

"I'm sorry for lying, I just wanted to watch where my sister used to eat and find a few people," Atlas said suddenly.

The student committee looked at each other puzzled. According to their intelligence, Atlas had never left his sister's sight, so who was he looking for at the academy?

Atlas had already managed to put suspicion and curiosity into the minds of the student committee. Atlas was crying to manipulate them and had already succeeded.

"Morning Atlas." came a voice suddenly from the front of the group.

The person in front of Atlas was none other than Dumgrith. Each of the student committee bowed their heads in greeting, but Atlas spoke without a care in the world:

"You have no idea how many questions I have for you, sir."
