Chapter 131: Chapter 126: Venting Anger

Song Yunxiu and Guan Jin, though not the type to meddle in others’ business, both immediately noticed that the chubby person being chased by the mutant grey rats was a teenager! Instantly, they realized something was amiss!

By rights, minors shouldn’t be leaving Safe City to venture into the wild. What’s more, this young boy wasn’t even equipped with battle armor or weapons; he was almost naked, dressed only in briefs and socks!

It’s currently winter, bitterly cold, so the boy naturally wouldn’t be dressed like this by choice. The only explanation is that his original clothes were stripped off by someone. Looking at the combat vehicle parked not far away and the people filming from it, Song Yunxiu and Guan Jin could guess a rough version of the truth even if they couldn’t see the full picture.

And just as they arrived, the people in the combat vehicle nearby apparently sensed something was wrong. They didn’t give Song Yunxiu and Guan Jin much time to think, thrusting a gun barrel out of the window, aiming it at Pang Zhi.

Seeing this, Song Yunxiu didn’t hesitate to draw his gun and start shooting!

"Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!" "Bang!"

The two fired almost simultaneously, each gunshot overlapping the other, and the bullets collided mid-air, seemingly to no effect at first glance. Yet, in reality, Song Yunxiu had the upper hand.

Their opponents were aiming to kill Pang Zhi, while Song Yunxiu fired to intercept the bullets successfully, saving Pang Zhi’s life each time!

They were all using special bullets infused with energy, but Song Yunxiu’s bullets were evidently of higher grade, managing not only to intercept the enemy’s bullets but also hit their combat vehicle!

Though the impact considerably reduced the bullets’ force, and the vehicle’s defense wasn’t weak, after several hits, multiple bullet holes appeared on the enemy’s vehicle, and Pang Zhi was still alive and well!

Song Yunxiu kept one hand on the gun and another on the steering wheel, undeterred. Within the sound of a few gunshots, he’d driven the vehicle right in front of Pang Zhi, perfectly hitting the mutant grey rat lunging at Pang Zhi away. Pang Zhi wasn’t foolish; though he hadn’t had time to see Song Yunxiu and Guan Jin’s faces clearly, he knew he’d narrowly escaped death.

So, when Song Yunxiu’s car drove up, he immediately took shelter beside it, making it impossible for those people to shoot him again.

At that moment, Song Yunxiu opened the backseat door. Pang Zhi, seeing no one there and only two people in the front, didn’t bother to doubt whether Song Yunxiu and Guan Jin were good or bad, gritted his teeth, and climbed into the car. Having suffered once, he was wise this time—not rushing to lock the car door so he’d be ready to escape if needed!

Guan Jin held a gun as well, but he didn’t rush to shoot. Instead, he casually watched Pang Zhi’s every move with sharp peripheral vision. Guan Jin’s observational skills were quite keen; he immediately noticed Pang Zhi’s youth and recognized him as a naïve boy who hadn’t endured hardships.

In other words, Pang Zhi, in his eyes, was a rookie among rookies, and a weakling among weaklings—a spoiled little rich kid! Despite his family’s own wealth, Guan Jin had always looked down on the pampered scions who relied on family to idle away life. Pang Zhi’s chubby appearance alone gave Guan Jin a negative impression. Had it not been for Pang Zhi’s youth and the malicious chase he was under, Guan Jin wouldn’t have cared whether he lived or died.

Upon seeing Pang Zhi’s little moves, Guan Jin smirked sarcastically, yet inwardly felt satisfaction. In his view, for someone like Pang Zhi to not be scared senseless at such times, to not scream madly and to know vigilance and self-preservation was indeed rare.

Thus, his impression of Pang Zhi slightly improved.

Meanwhile, seeing that Pang Zhi was blocked by Song Yunxiu’s vehicle and trying unsuccessfully to shoot through it, the opponents quickly turned their car around to flee, evidently abandoning the chase.

However, while they might’ve given up, the disgruntled Song Yunxiu didn’t intend to let them off easily. He pursued them in his vehicle, moving significantly faster, soon crashing into their car!

His combat vehicle, though disguised to look ordinary, boasted remarkable performance, offering considerable defensive level and hardiness. The collision dented a huge chunk out of their vehicle’s rear, while his car remained intact.

Song Yunxiu didn’t stop; he crashed several more times, eventually flipping their vehicle before backing off a little and stopping the car.

As soon as the car stopped, he jumped out, rushing towards the overturned wreckage nearby like the wind. Meanwhile, Pang Zhi had already been dazed by the continuous impacts. It took a while after the car stopped for him to recover, cautiously peering out the window.

This glance almost scared him stiff! Song Yunxiu was violently dismantling the combat vehicle! With each harsh metallic rip, the already dilapidated vehicle was torn into shreds. The three people inside initially attempted resistance but before they could react, Song Yunxiu swiftly broke their limbs.

Then Pang Zhi watched as Song Yunxiu tossed the dangerous foes aside as if throwing out trash, coincidentally stacking them atop each other. Their muffled grumbles and screams were loud enough to give Pang Zhi goosebumps all over.

He pressed his hand against his wildly thumping heart, feeling utterly terrified.

Song Yunxiu naturally wasn’t aware of Pang Zhi’s reaction, and even if he knew, he wouldn’t care. In swift motions, he dismantled the wrecked vehicle into scrap, salvaging the reusable parts. Then, he waved his hand abruptly.

Pang Zhi was hesitating about whether to leave the car when he saw Guan Jin had already excitedly jumped out and begun searching the three men, leaving no stone unturned, nearly stripping them bare.

Pang Zhi pursed his lips, his eyes filled with dubious curiosity, as Song Yunxiu’s and Guan Jin’s overly practiced actions startled him. Then he suddenly remembered his stolen clothes and space button, promptly braving the cold to get out of the car, despite shivering. As he ventured closer, he heard Guan Jin whistle triumphantly, saying "Wow, a C-type space button! Boss, seems we’ve hit the jackpot today, running into a fat sheep!"

Instinctively, Pang Zhi exclaimed, "That space button is mine!" (To be continued. If you enjoyed this story, feel free to cast a recommendation or monthly vote on Qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
