Apocalypse: Hero of Potato Fields-Chapter 346 - 341: The Beastman’s Victory
On the Water Crane Ark.
Some warriors are receiving treatment inside the temple.
Meanwhile, the soldiers who have already recovered are fighting fiercely, protecting their comrades.
But the core power of resistance comes from the students and teachers of the Wind Sect, whose Supreme Master was injured in the first battle and is currently being treated in the temple.
"Master! The defenders are about to collapse! I’ve received orders to evacuate the High Priest to the sect."
A young priest shouted after running into a room guarded by Wind Sect teachers.
"If we retreat now, the defenders will fall, and then it’s our turn!"
An old Water Crane clan member roared, his blue robes stained with blood, and his black-red fur covered in bloodstains too.
"Understood... Listen carefully, children! You have five minutes to prepare!
We need to carve out a bloody path to the mountain where the Wind Sect is located. If you want to survive, follow me!"
The old black-furred Water Crane clan member shouted, looking at the weary warriors.
Though many of them were on the brink of despair, hope suddenly flashed in their eyes, and the temple immediately bustled as they began to prepare.
Five minutes later, the warriors were ready, and the wounded were carried on stretchers...
"We’ll stay here to cover you." A group of senior students from the Sword Sect said.
"You will all die!"
"Many of our brothers and comrades are here. Should we abandon them for our own safety?
You can survive and tell everyone about our courageous final stand."
A male Water Crane clan member around 25 years old smiled, with his over twenty companions in full agreement.
They were all wounded but could still fight, though with some difficulty.
In the worst-case scenario, they could always protect their comrades with their bodies.
"We will never forget you." The elder walked a few yards away and then turned back, "Thank you."
This team of two hundred Water Crane clansmen prepared to break out.
On the command from the black-furred elder.
The warriors fought out of the temple, using powerful moves to disperse the undead creatures.
The senior students of the Sword Sect plunged into battle, but their only goal was to attract as much zombie attention as possible to protect those retreating.
They did well, drawing nearly half of the undead creatures away from the other Water Crane clansmen.
The scene outside the temple was like Hell.
Blood, corpses, screams, destruction...
The Water Crane clan members who just fought out of the temple were emotionally downcast, deeply hit inside.
This was their home.
They were born and grew up here...
"Get to the rooftops!" The black-furred elder shouted.
The warriors jumped onto the rooftops of nearby houses one by one.
Most houses were two stories high, but a few had three stories.
The tallest building was the ruler’s tower, standing five stories tall.
"Master... we can’t run across rooftops with the wounded!" The priest shouted.
He and other priests were carrying over twenty wounded Water Crane clan members on stretchers.
"You, and you! Get to the rooftops and lead the way! Everyone else walks on the ground!" The black-furred elder pointed at the two oldest students and then jumped down.
Others followed him.
The Wind Sect warriors rushed through the city’s central area at the fastest speed, heading southwest, towards their sect.
This small team occasionally met survivors and soldiers from the city, who eagerly joined the rapidly expanding team.
As a result, the team quickly began sacrificing mobility and speed.
They advanced with extreme difficulty.
But they had no choice but to kill the newly turned zombie Water Crane clan members attacking them.
The closer they got to the mountain, the more survivors and soldiers joined.
Within just half an hour, the team grew to two thousand people, but due to numerous casualties, the number quickly started to decrease again.
[Warning!]
The Lord of the Water Crane Ark has been defeated.
The control system has been occupied!
[Warning!]
Warning! The Ark has been occupied by a Moving Island!
"This... this can’t be..." The black-furred elder muttered, turning to look at his companions.
Everyone fell into desperation.
They were finished...
"Stand up! It’s not time to despair yet! We still have to fight for our Ark!
If we kill the Zombie General and purify this island, we can take back everything!"
The elder roared, hoping to lift his compatriots out of pain and continue on.
Minutes later, night fell on the Ark as its time synchronized with the island’s time.
Under the command of the Zombie General, all zombies roared in victory, celebrating their triumph.
Too many zombies... too many... and they were everywhere! The survivors’ morale, already low, sank even further...
~~~~~~
"Well, we completed the first stage quite well. I think our plan was very successful."
All the officers and representatives of non-human races gathered in the military command room.
No zombies appeared within an hour, so there was reason to believe this was either a trap or everything was over.
Lin Yi leaned toward the latter possibility, so he let most of the troops go to rest.
"Everyone should get some sleep. If anything else happens, I’ll wake you up."
Lin Yi waved his hand and left the office.
Others went off to do their own things as well.
