Chapter 1047: Chapter 400: Sword Holder

Clang, clang.

The iron wheels of the Infinity train traversed the old transport tracks of Yongcheng Port, joining the main ring track, as the adaptive magnetic levitation system activated. The sound of wheels on rails faded away, and the train quietly began to accelerate.

Lin Xian had long forgotten the last time the sun shone so brightly. The train moved across a desolate plain, a thin layer of gold coating the heavy armored body, the glass windows reflecting the sky, so blue it was nearly transparent. Occasionally, shadows of clouds swept past like silent ghosts.

Inside the compartment, the broadcast system played melodious music. Dust floated and slowly rotated in the beams of light. In car 2, Sha Sha leaned by the window asleep, with her eyelashes casting fine shadows on her cheeks. KIKI, casual in shorts and a hoodie, used telekinesis to spin a few colorful lollipops, leisurely watching a pre-Apocalypse Day variety show with a bright smile.

The research compartment had completely transformed into a forest of plants, crisp and dark green, bringing a cool ambiance upon entering. Miao Lu and Xiao Yuan, under the guidance of Director Ding, meticulously recorded the growth of various plants under the ample sunlight. Viola had taken over Grace’s duties, becoming the new intelligent brain steward on the Infinity train.

Except for the power car group, all other compartments had been replaced by Lin Xian with higher-spec automated cars from the Queen Mo, combined with some of the weaponry from Silent City and the Emperor Plan. Now, aside from an Eternal Level ’Sky Star 5C’ nuclear power car and the Dragon-level traction compartment retained by Lin Xian, all other carriages had been readjusted.

In car 5, besides Da Lou and Brother Huo, two others had moved in—Brother Huo’s apprentice, Mo Xiaotian, son of Sun Yuzhen, and one more, also from Silent City, an Inorganic Power Superpower User who had breached the Angel Level, Ryuji.

This arrangement wasn’t Lin Xian’s doing but rather a particular request from Mochizuki Masashi under the Phoenix Society’s ’Starfire Plan’. After the battle at Dawn City, Silent City had suffered severe damage. Now, with the three major Star Abysses stable, Mochizuki Masashi, combined with technology from the Emperor Plan and the Deep Red World’s reproduction armor, along with Dawn City’s dark energy data, launched the reconstruction of Silent City at Yongcheng Port. They also supported the restoration works at Dawn City. Upon hearing about Lin Xian’s plan to traverse the Pacific Ocean, the Republican Sanctuary Islands, then enter South America Ushuaia, Mochizuki Masashi arranged Silent City’s two most potential superpower users, Ryuji and Shi Zhi, to join Lin Xian’s oceanic rail journey.

The purpose was simple: to participate in the ’protection’ of Lin Xian, while Mochizuki Masashi hoped these two would achieve greater growth in their superpowers, becoming significant future assistance.

Lin Xian knew this guy’s intentions, but his plan for this ocean rail journey was personal, being unable to take too many people. For safety, the Infinite Alliance joined the Phoenix Society Dawn Center, with Jian Xuwei, Jiang Yun, and Shi Deyuan leading the Silver Star, Joint Train, and a vast convoy towards the Qionggu Strait. Meanwhile, Lin Xian joined Ye Lan’s ’Starfire Plan’!

The Starfire Plan was an active defense initiative announced by Phoenix Society Commander Ye Lan, following the inauguration of the Age of Deterrence, addressing the unknown stagnation state that the 13 global Star Abysses had entered after the war at Dawn City. After the battle at Dawn City, the dark crisis underwent significant transformation. The Star Abysses numbered 5, 7, and 8, after returning to their original size, unexpectedly began to slowly expand, which exceeded Phoenix Society’s initial expectations. Through Lin Xian and Chu Yan’s collaboration with the corpse chasers and combined insights from the Crescent Moon Operation, Phoenix Society Commander Ye Lan deemed that with humanity mastering dark energy conversion and reclaiming the space defense platform to counter-attack the Star Abyss No.5 corpse chasers, this unpredictable latent threat likely forced the Dark Civilization to shift its strategic intent toward human civilization, potentially adopting a ’cautious’ or other strategy.

Simply put, humanity, maintaining silence in the dark, while shielding against dark invasions, had transformed into a resistant yet threatening entity. This allowed humanity, once similar to ants, to regain potential choices for confrontation or active survival strategies in a world where civilization’s information had returned to a state of darkness and opacity.

Thus, the Starfire Plan was born, its purpose twofold: First, to leverage the advantage of dark energy shielding to reverse humanity’s disadvantages in the dark, then to undertake comprehensive and deep investigations of all Star Abysses. An attempt would be made to utilize this technology, to reactivate mankind’s major weapon: nuclear weapons, seeking to establish military deterrence potential. Second, using S-Class Armor technology, it would attempt a second breach of the Heavenly Veil, aiming to access the Polar Kunlun Core and explore the possibility of restarting the Wangyue Planet Ring.

The successful counterattack at Dawn City and the establishment of the Starfire Plan greatly inspired the confidence of the few remaining human survivors worldwide. Most importantly, everyone knew humanity could survive the dark invasions and, shielded from infection, could regain access to water resources.

In car 5, Lin Xian was testing a new set of battle armor he had manufactured for Da Lou, while Brother Huo, Ryuji, and Mo Xiaotian watched curiously from the side, sipping iced tea as Da Lou showcased the nearly two-meter-tall berserk mecha.

Woo~

Under Lin Xian’s mechanical superpower control, Da Lou’s mechanical units began auto-bolting. The specially-made Qilin mechanical arms, besides their combat effectiveness, were also equipped with underwater and deep-space propellers, as well as a complete life maintenance system—definitely a major weapon.
