Apocalypse: I Have A Multiplier System-Chapter 505: Invisible
Chapter 505: Chapter 505: Invisible
Qiao Feng stepped in first, carrying a food container almost as big as his torso. Behind him, Qiang Zhi followed, holding a stack of steaming boxes.
Su Jiyai jumped up, eyes wide, standing right in front of the alchemist’s workstation like a human shield. She forced a stiff smile. "Oh, wow! That’s, uh, great! Perfect timing, really!"
Neither of them even blinked at the glowing green glyph slowly rotating above her shoulder.
Su Jiyai froze for a second. Then she slowly tilted her head and looked behind her.
The Alchemist was still there, calmly grinding ingredients into a shimmering bowl, like nothing had happened.
But... Qiao Feng and Qiang Zhi weren’t reacting at all.
They didn’t even glance in that direction.
Su Jiyai’s shoulders relaxed a little. So they can’t see it... thank god.
She gave a casual cough. "Sorry, I was just... uh... organizing stuff."
Qiao Feng blinked. "What stuff?"
"Inventory management," she said quickly. "You know. Sorting supplies and all that..."
Qiang Zhi raised an eyebrow. "You looked like you were blocking something."
She laughed a little too loudly. "Haha, noooope. Nothing to block. Just me. Standing. Like a totally normal person."
Qiao Feng gave her an amused look but shrugged. "Anyway, come on, the food’s getting cold."
He set the big container on the table. The scent of warm rice, spiced meats, and freshly steamed vegetables filled the room instantly.
Qiang Zhi pulled open one of the smaller boxes. "We got your favorite—crispy fire duck with double chili glaze."
Su Jiyai blinked, touched. "How did you know?"
Qin Feng knew many things about her since she had stayed with him for 3 months, but Qiang Zhi? He didn’t stay with her more than a week or so.
Qin Feng chuckled, and Qiang Zhi’s face turned red. He shouted,
"I... I love it! So I thought you did too."
Hearing his words, Qin Feng laughed even more loudly to the point that Qiang Zhi’s face turned red, and he looked at Qin Feng with anger.
"Hey! Don’t you dare say anything!"
"What?" Su Jiyai was confused seeing them sharing a cryptic message.
Qiang Zhi gritted his teeth and walked up to Su Jiyai with large steps and motioned for her to bend down.
When Su Jiyai did, he covered her ears and said with a pout,
"Don’t listen to him! He is an idiot! Just eat the food!"
Su Jiyai blinked, frozen for a second with Qiang Zhi’s hands still over her ears.
"...Okay?" she said. "But can you remove your hands first?"
Qiang Zhi dropped his hands and spun around, face redder than a fire apple. "Whatever! Just eat already!"
Qin Feng leaned on the table with one elbow, grinning widely.
"He’s been nervous the whole walk here. Kept checking the boxes like the duck would escape or something."
"I was making sure it didn’t get soggy!" Qiang Zhi snapped, yanking open another food box aggressively. "Presentation matters!"
Su Jiyai chuckled, finally sitting down and pulling a box closer. The spicy scent hit her nose immediately, and she sighed happily.
"Mmm... this is exactly what I needed."
However, before she could reach for it, Qin Feng stopped her and passed a bowl of porridge.
"Eat this first."
Though Su Jiyai wasn’t injured and didn’t need to eat light foods, she was unconscious for days, and hence, directly consuming spicy food may have given her a stomachache.
Su Jiyai pouted and tried to directly eat the food, however, Qiang Zhi held her hand and stared at her seriously,
"Do what he is saying!"
Su Jiyai: "..." Okay... so now... I have received two bodyguards, huh?
She could only drink the porridge and then used her chopsticks to eat the spicy dish.
Once Su Jiyai finished her food, she leaned back with a satisfied sigh, patting her stomach gently. "That was really good..."
She turned her head and paused. Qiang Zhi was staring at her like a puppy waiting for praise.
"...Uh, what’s wrong?" she asked, blinking at him.
Qiang Zhi leaned forward a little, his eyes hopeful. "How was it?"
"The food?" she asked.
He nodded.
"It was delicious," she said honestly, tilting her head. Then, she narrowed her eyes slightly. "Wait a second... did you make it?"
Qiang Zhi’s chest puffed up proudly. "Yup. Me. With some help from Qin Feng."
Qin Feng, who was leaning against the table lazily, smirked. "I was supervising him. Making sure he didn’t burn the place down."
"I didn’t burn anything!" Qiang Zhi said loudly, turning red again. "Anyway, I did most of the cooking."
Su Jiyai smiled warmly. Her eyes softened. "That’s really sweet. Thank you. Both of you."
Without warning, she reached forward and pulled them into a tight hug. Qiang Zhi flailed a little at first but didn’t pull away. Qin Feng’s smile grew softer as he wrapped one arm around her shoulders.
"I’m really lucky," Su Jiyai murmured. "To have you both. Qin Feng as my lover... and you, Qiang Zhi, as my little brother."
Suddenly, Qiang Zhi stiffened. "Wait, wait, wait... what did you just say?"
"Huh?" Su Jiyai pulled back a little, confused.
"You said ’Qin Feng as your what’?" Qiang Zhi asked, narrowing his eyes like a detective interrogating a suspect.
Su Jiyai blinked. "My lover?"
There was a pause.
Qiang Zhi’s mouth fell open. Then he squinted at Qin Feng like he was the world’s greatest villain. "Since when?!"
"Uh—" Su Jiyai started, but Qin Feng quickly cleared his throat, giving her a warning glance. He smiled and said, "It’s not important—"
"It is important!" Qiang Zhi shouted. "I don’t accept this!"
Qin Feng sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Then... what do I have to do to earn your approval?"
Su Jiyai turned to scold Qiang Zhi, but Qin Feng stopped her with a gentle hand on her arm. "It’s fine. If it makes him feel better... I’m ready for any test."
Qiang Zhi crossed his arms. "Fine. Then your first task is... You have to stay away from Su Jiyai."
"What?!" Su Jiyai snapped her head around to glare at him.
Qiang Zhi turned his watery eyes on her. "Sister... just for a little while. You’ve been with him a lot lately..."
Su Jiyai’s lips parted to argue, but then she saw the expression on his face.
Qin Feng nodded at her silently, giving her an encouraging look.
After a moment, she sighed and said, "Fine. But only because I don’t want to hurt your feelings."
Qiang Zhi beamed instantly, throwing a smug look toward Qin Feng. "See? She still loves me more!"
Qin Feng rolled his eyes.
"Anyway, you should rest now," Qiang Zhi said, pushing Su Jiyai gently toward the bed. "You just woke up from a long sleep. Don’t push yourself."
He then grabbed Qin Feng by the arm and dragged him out of the room like a security officer escorting a criminal.
Qin Feng glanced back helplessly at Su Jiyai, who gave him a small smile and shook her head.
Once the door shut, Su Jiyai lay down. She did feel a little dizzy, so she closed her eyes—and before she knew it, she had fallen asleep.
The next morning, sunlight peeked through the curtains. Su Jiyai slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes.
"...Ugh, I still have a ton of things to do."
She climbed out of bed, changed into Qin Feng’s t-shirt and pants.
She walked down the corridor and reached Room No.1.
She pressed her hand on the scanner of the elevator. A soft beep echoed, and the metal doors slid open.
Su Jiyai entered the elevator shaft, tapping the screen and selecting "Monitor Room."
As the elevator hummed downwards, she leaned against the wall and let out a long sigh.
The doors opened with a soft chime. She walked out into the dim hallway and soon reached a high-tech circular room filled with glowing screens, blinking lights, and stacks of files.
She sat down at the control panel, stretched her fingers, and activated the mic connected to the base-wide communication system.
"Yuan Xin," she said calmly. Her voice echoed slightly over the intercom. "Come meet me in the conference room. We need to review the report."
Soon, Yuan Xin arrived in the conference room.
"Boss Su," he said, blinking up at the sleek black speaker on the wall, where her voice had come from moments ago. "You’re okay? You didn’t contact me even after returning to the base for a week."
A light laugh came through the intercom. "Yes, Xin. I’m back. And I’m okay. I didn’t call you earlier because of a problem."
"Then... now..."
"I am okay now. Go ahead." Su Jiyai said in a soft voice.
"Good," he said, his face lighting up like the monitors behind him. "Because I have so much to show you!"
Su Jiyai chuckled gently. "Then tell me everything. Start from the beginning."
Yuan Xin nodded, pushing a few buttons and flipping open a data pad. ƒгeewebnovёl_com
