Chapter 523: Chapter 523: Brilliant Idea

But within seconds...

The three thieves slowly dropped their weapons.

Their expressions softened.

Their knees shook.

And then... they knelt.

Right there, in the grass, they knelt in front of the tiny blue wolf with wide eyes.

"We pledge loyalty... to you," the leader whispered, voice full of awe.

Qin Feng’s mouth dropped open.

Xi Ping gasped. "WHAT?!"

Even Su Jiyai’s little wolf ears stood straight up in shock.

[What... just happened?] she asked through the system.

Qin Feng blinked. "Do you have some kind of... melody superpower?"

Su Jiyai nodded slowly.

[I thought I could only calm people down... or make them sleepy. I didn’t know I could... make people loyal.]

Qin Feng looked both impressed and stunned. "That’s... kind of scary."

Xi Ping nodded fast. "Super scary. And also super cool!"

Su Jiyai tapped her paw gently on Qin Feng’s arm.

He crouched down and helped her down from his arms.

She padded over to the kneeling thieves and looked at them closely.

Then she asked in her usual system tone, [Can you understand what I’m saying?]

The three nodded quickly. "Yes! Yes, we can understand you!"

Just then, Qin Feng asked, "Wait, if they can understand you, why are you still singing?"

Su Jiyai blinked and stopped humming.

Suddenly, the three thieves looked confused.

"Wait... where’d the sound go?" one of them said.

"Did the goddess stop speaking to us?" another whispered, panicked.

Su Jiyai looked puzzled. [If they understand me, why are they saying weird stuff now?]

Ding! The system chimed inside her mind.

[Host’s melody affects brainwave frequency. The melody bypasses language and enters their subconscious. They are not understanding your words. They are understanding your intention.]

Su Jiyai’s eyes widened.

[So that means...]

[They don’t understand my voice. They understand... my heart?]

The system dinged again.

[Correct.]

Su Jiyai nodded once she understood what the system had explained. Then she turned to the three kneeling thieves and asked gently through her system voice,[What are your names?]

The three quickly sat up straight and answered one by one.

"I’m Zhen!""I’m Mo!""And I’m Bing!"

Su Jiyai nodded. Then she asked calmly,[Why were you outside our RV? What were you planning to do?]

The three didn’t even hesitate.

Zhen, the leader, said, "There’s a bounty on you... the little blue wolf cub."

Mo added, "Yeah! Someone wants to give you to a princess as a gift!"

Bing finished, "The bounty’s huge. One billion star coins."

Qin Feng and Xi Ping’s faces darkened at the same time.

"One billion?!" Xi Ping shouted. "For a wolf cub?!"

Su Jiyai’s ears twitched. She was thinking deeply now.

Zhen kept talking, "It was announced on our bounty website. Since we were the first to see it, we got the first chance to come. But there are at least a hundred people still waiting in line to try."

Hearing that, Qin Feng and Xi Ping both looked troubled.

Su Jiyai, however, blinked and said calmly, [You can go back now.]

The three thieves looked shocked at first.

"Really?!"

"You’re letting us go?!"

"Thank you, thank you, kind goddess!"

They were so happy they almost hugged each other.

Qin Feng frowned. "What’s going on? Why are they so excited to leave now?" freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Xi Ping looked at Su Jiyai. "Hey, what’s she planning?"

Su Jiyai calmly looked at Qin Feng and said through the system, [I’m letting them go.]

Qin Feng crossed his arms. "Why? They tried to capture you."

Su Jiyai walked up to him, then gently climbed into his arms. Once close to his ear, she whispered her plan softly.

Qin Feng blinked once. Then twice.

Then his mouth slowly curved into a wide smile.

He reached up and gently patted her fluffy head. "You’re brilliant."

Xi Ping watched them closely. "Hey! What did she say?! I wanna know!"

But neither of them said a word. Su Jiyai just wagged her tail like a smug little queen.

Next Night

In the shadows near the same clearing, a new group of people sneaked forward.

They whispered among each other.

"Is this the right place?"

"I heard the bounty is true. The wolf cub really exists."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course! The last three guys nearly caught her but were defeated by a powerful man."

They all nodded and placed shiny glowing notes on the ground—Five notes of one million star coins each.

"Let’s wait," one whispered.

After a few minutes, a soft light came from the RV.

And then... a tiny blue wolf cub stepped out all by herself.

Her fur shimmered under the moonlight.

All the hunters’ eyes sparkled.

"There she is!"

"She came alone!"

"Just like they said!"

They watched her trot forward slowly toward the pile of money.

As soon as she got close, SNAP!—a hidden trap jumped up and caught her inside a glowing cage.

The wolf and the five million coins were now trapped.

"WE GOT HER!" one of them cheered.

They all started laughing happily, thinking they had finally succeeded.

But just then... a soft melody drifted through the night.

It was sweet, peaceful, and a little sad. Like a lullaby.

One by one, the hunters paused.

"Where’s that sound coming from?"

"It’s... really nice."

Their weapons fell to the ground.

Their faces turned calm, almost dreamy.

Then—thump, thump, thump—they dropped to their knees.

Su Jiyai stood up calmly inside the trap and said softly, [Open it.]

They didn’t argue. The men nodded and pressed buttons.

The trap opened.

Su Jiyai trotted out like a tiny queen, picked up the money with her paw, and poof! stored it in her system inventory.

Before leaving, she turned back and said, [Forget what happened here. Just remember... you lost to the man. And you never used money to lure me.]

They all nodded.

"Yes... we lost..."

"To the man..."

"Our money is safe..."

Then, they got up, dazed and slow, and walked away into the night.

Three Kilometers Away

The men suddenly blinked, shaking off the fog in their heads.

"What... what happened?"

"We lost! That guy’s powers were too strong!"

"We should have followed the tip and brought 5 million star coins!"

They all groaned and rubbed their heads.

One guy muttered, "Should we try again?"

But the leader shook his head. "No... bounty rules. If we fail once, we must give up our turn. Next team’s chance."

And just like that, they walked away.

Back in the RV

Xi Ping stared at the glowing notes stacked on the table.

"Five million star coins... just like that," she whispered.

She turned to Su Jiyai and smiled wide. "You’re a natural at making money!"

Su Jiyai puffed out her chest proudly.

She wagged her tail like a smug little businesswolf.

After all, she had traveled through so many worlds—she knew how to trick greedy people.

Act cute. Act harmless. And people will try to grab you.

Then flip the table and grab their wallets instead.

Flashback: The Night Before

Su Jiyai sat in Qin Feng’s lap and explained her plan:

[We let these three thieves go. But before they leave, I’ll plant a thought in their heads—][That if anyone places 5 million star coins or more outside, the wolf cub will come alone to get it.][And the man will not follow her.]

[That way, they’ll go back and share the "strategy" with everyone else. And each time, a new team will try the same trick.]

[Every time they fail, a new group will try again... bringing more and more money.]

[By the time all the bounty hunters get their turn... We’ll be filthy rich.]

Qin Feng blinked.

Then he started laughing softly.

He hugged her tightly and whispered,

"You are truly smart!"

Su Jiyai grinned and wagged her tail.

This wolf? Wasn’t just fluffy.

She was ruthless.

Back to the present.

Xi Ping, Qin Feng, and Su Jiyai.

"Let’s split the work better," Xi Ping said, pulling out a notepad.

"I’ll keep getting recipes and food samples," she added, "from every state’s top restaurants."

Qin Feng nodded. "And I’ll research all the suppliers and costs. We’ll build the budget list from there."

They both looked at Su Jiyai.

She smiled — no, smirked — like a mini wolf mastermind.

[And I’ll keep making money.]

But Qin Feng didn’t like it. "It’s too dangerous. What if someone really hurts you this time?"

Su Jiyai huffed.

[I’m not that weak anymore, you know! I have psychic defense, fire superpower, and melody control.]

Qin Feng still didn’t look convinced. His brows furrowed.

After a moment of silence, he reached out and touched her forehead gently.

Su Jiyai blinked.

[W-What are you doing?]

"I’m leaving part of my soul inside you," he whispered. "Just in case. If anything happens to you... I’ll feel it."

Su Jiyai’s ears twitched. [Y-You... idiot.]

But she smiled anyway.

And with that, the plan moved forward.

Next Five Days

Qin Feng traveled far across states using teleport scrolls and space passes.

He met spice traders, crystal farmers, and even one old lady who grew rainbow rice.

He took notes, got prices, and planned everything carefully.

Xi Ping zoomed around every major food hub.
