Chapter 79: 079 Seems to have become public enemy_1
“They’re all out, every one of them.”
“No need to guess, they must have been wiped out.”
“Not even a month, and the simulation is over. That must set a record!”
“It’s all Feng Qi’s fault. Who knew he would flip the table? Once the keyword was revealed, no one knew how to play anymore.”
…
Coming out of the assessment area, a crowd surrounded them, pointing and discussing fervently. The main topics were the premature ending of the simulation and the incident of Feng Qi flipping the table.
It was clear that everyone was filled with resentment over Feng Qi flipping the table.
Thousand-finger guidance, a storm that died without illness.
Duge couldn’t help but shrink his neck, feeling a chill down his spine.
“Duge, over here.” A round head saw Duge and excitedly ran over to him, landing a punch on his shoulder, “You’re something else, kid, surviving until the end. Tell me, where were you hiding? You have no idea how spectacular the final battle was. Mr. Zhao schemed against Feng Qi, and the final boss was a player-seized character, full of intrigue and cutthroat strategy. It was simply awesome. Guess if Feng Qi got first place in the end?”
“He did,” Duge said.
He surveyed the environment around him. It looked like an ordinary school.
All around were students of similar age, wearing neat uniforms with the name of No. 42 Middle School printed on them. The sky was blue with fluffy white clouds, and the trees provided ample shade. Occasionally, a bird flew by, showing no signs of an apocalyptic world. The buildings seemed to be constructed of brick and stone, not indicating an advanced level of technology.
“You guessed right,” the big head snapped his fingers and slung an arm around Duge’s shoulder, “We can only watch the replay tomorrow. Want me to tell you about the last battle now?”
“Sure, let’s talk back at the dorm. There are too many people here,” Duge said with a smile, naturally extracting information. He had to first understand Duge’s social network.
“Okay, I’ll talk while we walk,” the big head said. “By the way, what was your keyword?”
“Maintenance,” Duge said.
“No way!” The big head’s eyes widened, then he laughed, “That makes sense. With Feng Qi being so fierce, the keyword obviously couldn’t be maintenance. But man, you’re so unlucky, clashing keywords with Feng Qi.”
Indeed, no one believed he was Feng Qi. The original body’s performance seemed to be not so great!
This sudden standout performance, would it arouse suspicion?
Duge pondered internally, “What about you? What was your keyword?”
“Eye for an eye,” the big head said.
“Not bad, Dragon Child,” Duge paused, then asked, “With such an impressive keyword, how did you get eliminated?”
“The person I seized was a pushover from a small mountain village who was constantly bullied. That guy was weak and had a feeble character, anyone could step on him. He couldn’t take it and tried to jump into the river, but he was saved. Then, he got a high fever and was at death’s door.”
Big head shook his head and sighed, “What a great start! The whole village was the enemy. Paired with the ‘eye for an eye’ keyword, I could’ve taken revenge one by one and grown really fast. Maybe could’ve made it into the top ten. But then, Feng Qi flipped the table and exposed all the examinees’ details. Just my luck, I fit one of the profiles he described. The villagers found out, and then, I was eliminated. Such an undeserving disaster.”
Great!
Another enemy offended.
Duge silently cursed.
“What about you? How were you eliminated?” Big head asked.
“I wasn’t eliminated,” Duge said.
“Almost forgot, you came out only after the simulation ended.” Big head laughed heartily, “Stronger than me, at least you enjoyed a few more days in the simulation. Who did you seize?”
“A sparring partner from a small family,” Duge said, opting to be honest since the replay would be available.
“A maintenance guy plus a sparring partner’s identity, that’s a nice start too. No wonder you could hang on until the end,” Big head didn’t associate Duge with Feng Qi at all.
As they talked,
The two arrived at the dormitory.
Duge glanced at the door number: 106.
Inside, there were two beds and bookshelves packed with a variety of books.
Duge scanned them. Most titles were related to performance and keywords: “Performance Psychology”, “Character Personality Analysis”, “Actor’s Self-Cultivation”, “Keyword Definition and Extension”, “Sea of Words”, “Basic Method of Spirit Power Training”, and more.
There were two desks in the dorm.
On one desk lay a sheet of white paper, on it Duge’s basic information:
Name: Duge;
Spiritual Power: 35;
Male character attribute: 70% pass rate;
Female character attributes: 30% pass rate;
Positive keywords (Compatibility 20%): Brave (15), Sacrifice (Compatibility value 12), Kindness (30)…
Negative keywords (Compatibility 70%): Paranoid (50), Evil (40), Greedy (60)…
Neutral keywords (Compatibility 30%): Happiness (30), Unresolved (8), Awkward (7)…
Overall score: 80 (Good)
…
This paper seems to record the usual assessment scores.
However, it’s somewhat surprising that there is a distinction between male and female character attributes for the pass rate.
Come to think of it, that’s reasonable. It’s just like the rule that you can’t enter the exam room after the first fifteen minutes of the test; there must be a limit to the time for soul possession. Weak and sick hosts are not easy to find, so when time’s up, whether male or female, you should first survive, and then consider other options!
But why is the spiritual power 35?
Duge clearly remembers that when he first crossed over, his spiritual power was 60, almost double this number.
Could it be an overlay?
Did his spiritual power overlap with that of the original Duge?
If explained from this perspective, then it’s not strange that he has two keywords; one keyword from the original Duge, and another that is his.
The simulation must have bugged out because he possessed the Duge who was supposed to possess!
This also explains why Peacekeeping and Backstab, despite being conflicting, did not reduce his traits.
The simulation was probably calculating the rewards separately for two people, for two keywords, but since he and the original Duge shared one body, the separately calculated rewards were concentrated on one person…
So this was the reason his golden finger came from!

Duge suddenly realized.
On another desk lay Big Head’s information, which was similar to Duge’s in various aspects, except that the spiritual power score was a few points higher than Duge’s, at 38.
At this moment, Duge also learned the name of his roommate Big Head, called Gao Ming.
Duge casually picked up a notebook on the desk and opened it. The first page had several lines written in thick strokes:
One: Do not let others know your keywords;
Two: Do not trust anyone;
Three: Moderately disguise your keywords;
Four: Disguise yourself as an indigenous as much as possible, do not try to change the world. The more you expose, the faster you die;
…
Duge had just read a few lines.
Gao Ming snatched the notebook from his hand, threw it back on the desk, and said, “The exams are over, why bother reading this stuff? In practice, it all comes down to individual performance in the simulation. These things are worthless. The new tactics developed by the Elite Academy might actually be the real deal. I bet, Feng Qi tipping the table unexpectedly, is their new concept in action…”
Bullshit new concept!
I just didn’t understand the rules, alright?
Duge grumbled to himself, reached out for the notebook again, but before he could open it, the dormitory phone suddenly rang.
Gao Ming walked over, picked up the receiver: “Hello? Teacher Hu! You want Duge to come and see you, okay, got it, I’ll send him over.”
After finishing.
He put down the receiver and said, “Old Du, Teacher Hu wants you to see him, it’s about the grand finale. We’ll talk when you get back.”
I bloody know who Teacher Hu is?
Duge was stunned for a moment, then said to Gao Ming, “Come with me, Gao Ming!”
“Teacher Hu asked for you, not for me. I don’t feel like looking at Teacher Hu’s annoying face.” Gao Ming climbed onto his bed, impatiently saying, “The whole class has been eliminated, he’s been nagging for several days now. I bet he’s just going to ask about your performance in the simulation this time?”
Duge said, “Old Gao, this might be different. I’m a bit nervous.”
“Nervous about what? He’s not a real tiger,” Gao Ming said, “At most he’ll nag you a bit…”
“Gao Ming, I’m really Feng Qi,” Duge said earnestly, “I might have really messed things up this time.”
Thump!
Gao Ming fell off the bed.
