Apocalypse: I'm the Landlady of the Refuge-Chapter 53 - Base Access Rules
Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Base Access Rules
Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Base Access Rules
The simple surgery room from before was just a pitiful little room, with the operating table and diagnostic equipment all piled up together.
Now, the surgery room is divided into operating rooms, examination rooms, and medicine rooms, and both the instruments and the environmental conditions are much better than those of the previous makeshift surgery room.
The Wood Element Superpower User and his sister Xiao Lu are currently in the operating room, and it seems that Xiao Lu has already woken up.
Ji Wanwan didn’t linger and turned to leave.
Next to the surgery room is the laboratory.
The equipment in the laboratory is more specialized, and there are two experimental platforms available for research work.
Ji Wanwan’s gaze settled on two elongated freezers, and she couldn’t help but click her tongue in amazement.
Even the place for frozen corpses was ready, the Super Shelter System truly is awesome!
Leaving the laboratory, Ji Wanwan went to the weapon inventory.
The variety of weapons has greatly improved from before, and their durability has also been upgraded to level 3.
What surprised Ji Wanwan the most was that there were actually two precision-guided weapons in the weapon inventory.
This type of weapon features advanced technology that can accurately locate targets, significantly increasing combat efficiency and reducing unnecessary casualties.
Although in a world of superpowers, weapons are no longer the key to killing enemies and ensuring victory, these items still possess enough deterrent power.
Having these materials means having a say.
Ji Wanwan left the weapon room contentedly and went to the suites on the second floor.
All six suites were of the same specification, with a three-bedroom, two-living room, and two-bathroom layout. While not as spacious as private quarters, they were more than adequate for a family to live in.
Probably because Ji Wanwan liked it, the decoration style of the suites was still warm and inviting, relaxing guests as soon as they walked in, letting down their guard.
After checking out the suites, Ji Wanwan walked out of the two-story building and into the courtyard of the Inner City.
The Chinese-style courtyard with its winding corridors was quiet and elegant. In one corner of the yard, there was a waterside pavilion, which housed a small outdoor meeting room.
This location need not worry about eavesdropping from Outer City personnel.
Ji Wanwan nodded and decided that the combat summary meeting for tonight would be held here.
Passing through the low wall, Ji Wanwan entered the Outer City.
Walking along the path toward the dormitory building, she saw the fields awaiting cultivation and the clear ponds, and well-spaced warehouses.
Thinking of the seeds and fry in the System Mall, Ji Wanwan had some plans in mind.
There were a total of four dormitory buildings, each with 30 rooms.
Two buildings were on the east side of the base, and two on the west.
Ji Wanwan divided them into East and West living areas.
Both living areas had their own training facility and a canteen, and in the middle of the two living areas was a small supermarket.
The training facility was semi-open, equipped with basic combat gear and sports fields, suitable for those who wanted to improve their physical fitness.
The canteen was much like the simple canteen in the previous refuge, only larger with a capacity for more people.
The small supermarket had a wide range of goods, covering almost all the daily necessities. Inside was a fully automated intelligent system. Stocking, cashing, and cleaning were all completed by smart screens or robotic arms.
When the system detected someone skipping out on payment, 001 and 002 would be deployed for punishment, requiring almost no worry on Ji Wanwan’s part.
Arriving at the dormitory building, Ji Wanwan casually opened a door to take a look inside.
The double bedroom isn’t large, but it has a bathroom and a small kitchen; each double bedroom comes with a washing machine, an air conditioner, a refrigerator, and an induction cooker, allowing residents to cook and clean within the room.
Though the double bedroom is basic, it meets the fundamental living requirements and could be considered a small haven in the post-apocalyptic world.
All buildings have been inspected.
Ji Wanwan stepped out of the double bedroom and sat down on a stone bench by the artificial lake, “System, now that the refuge has been upgraded to a base, what about the internal circulation rules? Have they also been altered?”
System: “Of course, they have been changed. The temporarily established rules are:
1 Crystal Core = 100 points = 300 yuan
2 Crystal Cores = 200 points = 600 yuan
And so on.
Anyone entering the base may exchange points for a base pass. Those without a pass will not be able to use any of the resources within the base.
The rent for a double room is 1000 points per month, suitable for single or shared occupancy. Single occupants must pay 1000 points, while those sharing need only pay 500 points each, subject to the base’s allocation.
The pricing at the simple canteen remains unchanged; the Host may adjust it if necessary.
The training grounds are available for use free of charge; the prices at the small supermarket are the same as those before the crisis, and goods can be purchased with the corresponding value in points.
Resources in the Inner City don’t require points and are accessible without restrictions, except for the Host, Authority Cardholders, and individuals specially authorized by the Host. Anyone else attempting to force entry will be subject to enforcement measures by Unit 001 and 002.
Points can be earned through labor within the base.
The rent for a piece of farmland is 200 points per month, and the rent for a pond is 300 points per month.
The Host may buy seeds, fish fry, and other resources from the System Mall to distribute to lessees. The decision to charge points for these items is at the discretion of the Host; points earned from selling the crops belong to the lessees themselves.
Beyond labor, points can also be earned through Guard Team activities.
There are 4 sentry posts within the base, each requiring two sentinels to take turns on duty; each sentry earns 600 points per month, and Unit 001 will select one Outstanding Sentinel each month to receive an additional 100 points.
Aside from the sentries, there is also the Guard Team and the Corpse Hunting Team.
The main duty of the Guard Team is to patrol both inside and outside the base, ensuring that there are no zombies invading within a 500-meter radius of the base and that no disturbances occur within the base.
There are 10 members in a Guard Team; each member receives 600 points per month. Members who perform exceptionally well can compete for the position of team captain, who will earn 800 points per month and receive one piece of cold weaponry.
New n𝙤vel chapters are published on novelbuddy.cσ๓.
The primary task of the Corpse Hunting Team is to follow the small squads outside to kill zombies and obtain Crystal Cores.
The Corpse Hunting Team consists of 5 members, led by a superpower user. Each outing entitles members to an unconditional 100 points, and for each zombie killed, 10 points are earned (regardless of the zombie’s level). Crystal Cores obtained from Evolved Zombies can either be used by the killer or exchanged for points.
The base provides weapons for the Corpse Hunting Team free of charge, but weapons must be returned after the mission. Additionally, for every 10 same-level Crystal Cores obtained, the Corpse Hunting Team must hand over one to the base.
Those are the rules for earning and using points. Host, is there anything else you need to supplement?”
Ji Wanwan rubbed her temples, feeling her head buzzing after listening to the rapid-fire list of rules, “Let’s stick with these rules for now. I’ll call you if I have any other ideas.”
System: “Understood. The refuge rules you previously established have also been updated to base regulations:
First, fighting within the base is strictly prohibited. Offenders will receive one warning; repeat offenders will be expelled and permanently blacklisted.
Second, anyone intentionally damaging property within the base must compensate for the loss and will be warned. Repeat offenses will result in expulsion and compensation. In severe cases, the offender will be fed to the zombies.
Third, the malicious waste of any resources is strictly forbidden. Offenders will be warned and banned from purchasing or using any resources for three days, with expulsion on the second offense.
Fourth, unauthorized overnight guests in the base are strictly forbidden (if necessary, the base lord or robot butler can be notified in advance). Anyone caught bringing in guests must make up the points according to the number of people involved on the first offense; on the second offense, all involved will be expelled.
Fifth, anyone who awakens a superpower within the base will receive a complimentary reward of 1000 points.”
