Axir and the others mingled in the new settlement. With their current level of power and usage of Mana Techniques, the people of the settlement didn’t even know seven strangers had entered.

The identity of the player who accepted the devil’s deck was unknown.

But there was supposedly a big threat from that player according to God Ra.

Axir stood in front of the row of god statues that the people had built.

God Ra was in the center.

’Why not just lead me to that player and I’ll finish him off?’

Axir rubbed his chin. ’Or is the game preventing you from that?’

The game was probably preventing that information.

It was a quest that granted Divine Epiphany. It couldn’t be easy.

[Robin: Did anyone find anything?]

[Ling: And why would we tell you that?]

[Maria: Looks like Ling found something.]

Axir expanded his Mana Field. He could sense the Mana Fields of others as they were also investigating everything.

Axir focused on the faces of people. Their eyes. Their behavior. He began making a list to visit them.

Specifically, he targeted people who were sad, dazed, and behaved abnormally. They might not be the ones who accepted the devil’s deck, but they could be the prey targeted by the devil.

’Oi, lay low and don’t mess up. Act normal and don’t even think about our plan. We have some nasty people here looking for something, and that thing should be you.’

In the Town Chief’s house, a young man in his mid-twenties was eating with his family.

’Control yourself, moron. Act normal. I ain’t fearing for my safety here, but yours.’

’Tsk. I will never forget those pieces of trash who made my life hell. The plan must be set into motion.’ Raul’s eyes burned with power.

’The pawns are ready, but in danger with those players here. Don’t activate them or we’ll be done.’

Raul frowned. ’How long will they be here?’

’You can go ask them if you want to die.’

’You can discover their positions, right? What if I invite them?’

"Next, me." Robin raised his hand. "I found nothing. Moving on to the next person."

"I found traces of evil darkness in some places on the ground," Maria said. "Due to a passive card from Nyx’s Prime Boon deck, I can perceive all kinds of darkness. I used another card that can hypnotize people and asked around, but didn’t get any useful information. However, I found some strange people who couldn’t answer despite the hypnosis. I believe they are the same kind of people Axir found."

"I got nothing useful." Sakamoto rubbed his bald head. "My Prime Boon deck from Amaterasu is more combat-oriented. And I personally couldn’t find any clues using Mana Techniques."

"I looked everywhere and found the strange people Axir mentioned as well," Siddha said. "Since I can perceive the voice of souls due to a passive card from Vishnu’s Prime Boon Deck, I did find people who were scarred. The same kind of people Axir mentioned. Though some of them were behaving normally with no problem in thinking, their voices of souls were scarred and in fear."

"I got nothing. Not equipped with any useful scouting cards." James shook his head.

"Gods know, but they can’t tell us," Ling sighed. "The game is preventing them."

"Maria, search for darkness deeper if you can. You might be the closest," Siddha said. "I’ll also use a better way to utilize this passive card’s effect."

Axir nodded. "Yeah. If you can, look for evil darkness in people and find the one with the most potent evil darkness. That’s our target."

Everybody vanished, resuming their search.

’Hurry the fuck up!’

Raul heard the devil’s hurried voice in his head.

’You have three minutes before you are dead. That woman will trace you down.’

Raul was sweating hard while circulating Mana in his body according to the devil’s instructions.

He was currently in his friend’s house, in his room.

Both of them were meditating.

Raul came here and told his friend about a Mana Technique, which the devil had taught him, and then he taught his friend.

The devil sensed Maria’s powers, as well as Siddha’s powers, and it was only a matter of time before either of them found Raul.

The only way to prevent them would be to vanish from their Mana Field radar.

And only one Mana Technique could hide someone from the Mana Field.

Camouflage.

Camouflage could adapt to Mana Field easily without much effort because Mana Field primarily traces Mana present in everything and then makes a perfect map connected with the user’s senses. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

But in that perfect map, people with Camouflage, who were covered by Mana to adapt their appearance to their surroundings, could completely vanish from Mana Field’s radar.

So they would be physically present in front of others but wouldn’t be detected in the Mana Field.

And a minute later, Raul successfully learned it.

’Perfect. Now quickly leave through the tunnel and enter underground. You are completely safe. It’s time to start Phase 2. Activate the pawns.’

’And start the formation.’

A devilish laughter echoed in Raul’s ears.
