Apocalypse Lord-Chapter 69 - 67: Preparing to Form a Party for the Next Adventure!
"Apocalypse Ark..."
Eleanor wagged the tip of her tail, commenting, "Sounds somewhat interesting, but it doesn’t feel loud and imposing enough..."
"Then I’m eager to hear your suggestions."
Lin Lan respected his companion’s opinion and asked with a smile, "What name do you think is suitable?"
"Hehe! I’ve thought about this for a long time!"
The Pirate Leader got excited immediately, "Proud Sanctuary, Mad Eye Mafia, Bloodthirsty Mad Fang Association, how about these names, don’t they sound imposing?"
She swished her high ponytail, exclaiming excitedly, "Once others hear these names, they’ll know we’re a force not to be messed with!"
Lin Lan: ...
Goodness, a naming style like ’Arrogance is Irresistible’, huh?
"Don’t look at me like I’m an idiot!"
Eleanor bared her sharp teeth at the boy who wore a strange expression on his face.
Soon, she deflated, "Forget it, forget it, these names might scare off cowards like the Feis Race, let’s just go with Apocalypse Ark."
"Then it’s settled."
Lin Lan breathed a sigh of relief, nodding repeatedly, quickly moving past this topic, fearing she might come up with another crazy, domineering name.
"Tch." The tall Dragon Lady crossed her legs, crossed her arms, and kept poking the ground with the tip of her tail, sitting opposite with anger simmering inside.
It was obvious that the nicknames given by the Alliance People and the Imperial People always gnawed at her. As the dignified King of Pirates, how embarrassing it would be if this got out!
Lin Lan just smiled.
He didn’t really care about nicknames like ’Country Bumpkin’. Lin Lan was well aware that no matter how nice a name they gave their territory, it probably wouldn’t change those ’upper-class citizens’ arrogance and prejudice.
Because the territory’s strength on the surface was really too weak.
In the current situation, the only hard truth was to develop with full force. Ironically, the nascent disaster that the Alliance and Empire avoided had instead become the Ark’s camouflage.
We’ll see if the new ’Ark’ can withstand the test of the celestial calamity...
Lin Lan pondered, actively changing the subject, "By the way, when do you plan to salvage your ship?"
"The Black Wing fell into the depths of the sea, and there’s a collapsed celestial calamity roaming in that Gray Realm, salvaging the ship isn’t feasible for now."
Eleanor sighed deeply, taking out a beautiful, delicate pocket watch from her pocket. With a snap, she opened the case, and the golden dial rippled like water.
’Angel’s Right Eye’ guided the heart’s desire of the Black-winged Calamity Master.
Lin Lan put down his pen and leaned in curiously, seeing that the dial revealed a wondrous scene.
At the center of the scene was a sinister-looking steel Legion Ship, buried in a ruin, its hull covered with mottled cracks.
"Damn it, that’s my most cherished ship..." Eleanor murmured in distress.
Lin Lan’s attention, however, was on the ’ruins’ surrounding the Black Wing.
He couldn’t quite make out what those things were; the scene in the picture looked like a patchwork of countless bizarre fragments forcibly stitched together.
The background was dark and yellow, with one corner of the sky showing an inverted spire city, and another corner filled with rolling thick fog, with an enormous, ancient beast’s spine faintly visible within.
Black celestial calamity cracks were everywhere.
The inverted city was constantly disintegrating in the cracks, the Black Wing covered by the roof of a broken chapel, and Lin Lan noticed a piece of black and golden train locomotive wreckage beside the hull.
"Ha! Looks like I’m not the only unlucky one who fell into the Gray Realm!"
Eleanor fixated on the train wreckage, laughing gleefully, "Seems like something’s wrong with the Fog Strait route; those arrogant Alliance officials with their noses in the air are probably going to have a tough time!"
Lin Lan: ...
All I can say is this Dragon Lady’s really got a big heart; her own ship has sunk, yet she still has time to mock others...
"Speaking of which, why don’t I see the sea surface?"
Lin Lan kept staring at the image, voicing his inner question, "How did your ship fall into these ruins?"
Hearing this, Eleanor raised an eyebrow.
She turned around, staring at Lin Lan’s face suspiciously for quite some time.
Initially, Eleanor suspected Roland might be a monster from the Deep Sea, but now it seemed this guy was totally ignorant about the maritime world!
Could this kid have fallen from the sky?
Then again, according to numerous adventurers and scholars’ practices and explorations, the world’s sky was essentially an infinite and extremely dangerous inverted ocean. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
After all, the entrance to the forbidden route ’Pilgrim’s Maze’ was at the deepest part of the Sky Sea.
"The sea surface of the boundless ocean has always been just a façade; the Gray Realm has always been a chaotic stack of infinite spaces."
Eleanor patiently explained the basic concept of the sea:
"What you see as cities, thick fog, and ancient beast remains are all ’sea waves’ of the ocean, and they are constantly undergoing unknown and bizarre changes every moment."
She added, "Safe routes are stable paths people carve out in the space using various means. The ’sea surface’ is merely the most basic representation of the path. If a mariner veers off the path and sinks into the Gray Realm, the concept of the ’sea surface’ naturally ceases to exist."
Lin Lan nodded with newfound understanding.
He continued to fixate on the pocket watch in Eleanor’s palm, and in the blink of an eye, the background indeed shifted.
The inverted spire city moved as if alive, more shattered worlds slowly emerging from the fog, and it seemed like more ship wreckage was falling from the mist in the distance...
The image on the dial gradually faded, the pure white hands trembling slightly, pointing in the direction of the sunken ship.
Eleanor closed the pocket watch, her expression one of disbelief, "How did you enter the Starry Gray Realm without even knowing the basics?"
"It’s not easy to explain, but you’ll understand soon enough."
At that moment, a mysterious smile appeared on Lin Lan’s face, his pupils somewhat out of focus, "Just in time, it’s the right moment..."
"The right moment?"
Eleanor just felt like the boy in front of her had become inexplicably mysterious.
"Since you’re willing to help me build my territory, it’s about time I reciprocate with some sincerity."
Lin Lan opened the door, extending an invitation, "Come with me to the underground secret chamber, Eleanor."
He looked at the Dragon Lady comrade in front of him, his expression becoming full of eagerness, "Wanna pull off a big job under the nose of the starry skies?"
·
The secret door slowly opened in front of Lin Lan and Eleanor.
"What took you so long?"
A petite blond Witch peeked out from behind a bionic maid, waving a wrench and issuing a disgruntled complaint, "Bai and I have been waiting for you!"
Lucia’s eyes sparkled; as a Witch, she’d been looking forward to the starry adventure promised by Lin Lan for ages!
Eleanor immediately took a step forward, reaching out to pinch the Witch’s cheek.
"My dear First Mate~" she said with a bright smile, gradually applying pressure, "You weren’t secretly aware of Roland’s secret before I was, were you?"
"Captain, you were snoring like a log back then, I had no choice!"
The blond Witch struggled like a squirrel, "Let go, let go! I was wrong..."
Lin Lan, on the other hand, was taking in the newly refurbished secret base, letting out a gasp of admiration, "Did you renovate the entire chamber?"
"Hehe, you know it~"
Lucia wriggled free from the Captain’s grasp, sidling up with a sideways elbow to Lin Lan’s ribs, "So, is the space utilization more efficient?"
"Not bad at all." Lin Lan reached out and ruffled the golden strands of her hair.
"Hey!" The blond Witch jumped back in surprise, eyes wide, exclaiming, "I’m actually really old! Don’t mess up my hair! It’ll stunt my growth!"
