Apocalypse system: I have unparallel comprehension-Chapter 72 - Preparation for Tier 3
Dante grabbed a chair and sat down. He looked at the old man, picking up some plates and preparing him a meal.
"Here." The old man placed a glass of water and slid across the table.
Dante grabbed the glass. It was ice cold. The old man likely got the water from outside.
He also added a tea bag. Dante pinched up with his two fingers and swung around. He called out and pointed at the tea bag.
"I think you got it wrong, Kage." Dante said. "The water is cold."
The old man looked up from his cooking. "Just heat up with mana. I am told that you are quite good at it."
"I am just trying to stay low." Dante smiled.
He channeled mana into his palm and changed into fire mana. He lowered the intensity of the fire mana and ingested into the water.
Soon, the water surged and boiled. He waved his hand at the vapor and inhaled.
After that, he slowly dropped the tea bag and waited.
"I have been meaning to ask. Why do you call me Kage?" The old man asked.
He brought fried rice with him. The fragrance of the meal brought a drool in Dante. Dante wiped the drool and took the plate from the old man. He made sure that he thanked him first.
"Oh, I remember reading a book about Shadow meaning the word Kage. I didn’t know the language probably before the great Union came."
"I see. Kage. Kage." The old man repeated. "I like it a lot."
"Right? It is a lot better than a plain old Shadow. And it sounded like you were a teenager." Dante said.
The old man nodded and left the kitchen, muttering words toward himself.
Dante watched and continued eating his meal. He finished the fried rice and blew a vapor from the tea cup.
He sipped the tea and savored the taste. It was not sweet like he imagined, nevertheless he liked it. But he won’t find himself actively trying to get this drink.
He finished everything and stood up, walking toward the kitchen and cleaning the plates and cup. He whistled a tone, tapping his left foot in rhythm.
After breakfast, Dante walked outside. He looked at the blue cave and found himself in a nice place. As usual it was a shade of ground, under a big tree. He lay down and closed his eyes.
He purposefully tried not to think. Think about mana, his power and everything. He didn’t want to think for a few hours.
So he just lay there, resting his mind.
A smile formed in his face. He opened his eyes and lifted up his left arm, opening his hand into a palm. He stared at the black ring.
"Book." He called out.
The black book emerged along with the white smoke. He grabbed the book and opened it.
Immediately he noticed the difference in the book.
Dante immediately sat up and stared at the content of the black book. Before, there was nothing written inside but now.
[Kale.]
One word. That word etched on the grey page.
Dante focused his attention on the name, Kale. Information regarding Kale entered into his brain. He processed everything almost instantly.
Dante breathed out loud. He gasped and let out a laugh.
"What is happening?" He grabbed the book and stood up.
He channeled mana into the book and it bounced back, shaking his mana core. He frowned and tried again.
His core shook again. Dante sighed.
"Guess I need to unlock the seal to know the ability of the book." Dante placed the book on his face and it warped into the mask.
"But I got a really cool mask."
He sighed and turned the mask into the ring. He walked into the building and climbed upstairs. He knocked on the door and waited for the reply.
"Come in."
Dante opened the door and stepped inside.
Tendo was sitting on the couch, eating a grape like a prince. He turned his head and nodded at Dante. "Come. Come. Sat there."
Dante nodded and walked over to the other side of the crouch. He extended his hand to grab the grape but was slapped by Tendo.
Dante smiled and tried again. Tendo shot a glance and let out a sigh.
"Eat. Eat." Tendo said.
Dante threw a grape into his mouth. "I am here for Tier 3 advancement."
Tendo sat up with seriousness. "I see. Then, I will tell you the process."
Tendo scanned Dante’s entire body and nodded to himself. He sometimes murmured a few words. It didn’t seem like he was talking to himself either as his expression told Dante that he received answers.
"Alright, I have received enlightenment." Tendo said, rubbing his two hands.
Dante squinted his eyes and stared at Tendo.
"Who are you talking to? Did you see the dead spirit? Is this one of your abilities?" Dante asked.
"That’s harsh." Tendo said. "I am just taking some advice from the system. Anyway, I will tell you the process of Tier 3 and its goal."
"Tier 3 is the state where you achieve the perfect harmony between three things. Mana core, your body and the soul. These three melded into one state. Understand?"
Dante nodded.
"Harmony between body and soul is going to be easy. You just need to overlap the gap." Dante said, looking at his arm. His eyes revealed a pretty good observation of his body and soul. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"But if I reach Tier 3, will my body act as a giant mana core?"
"Yes and no." Tendo answered. "It is a rather complicated thing. You still have your mana core inside you but your body will also act the same. Also you are not a leveled human right?"
Dante nodded. "I am not. I don’t have a level. My skills are also ranked into Grade 1, 2 and so on. Do you know anything about that? I can’t find any clue into it."
Tendo paused and nodded. "I will not tell you the secret. Currently, your domain inside the world is shallow. Knowing isn’t always a good thing. Sometimes, it leads to death."
Tendo warned.
"I know. But I can’t stop myself. It is like my body is not my own." Dante smiled.
"It seems like you are confused, my friend. You don’t need to restrict yourself. Everything is about you. Every moment you live is yours. You are too fixed on the bloodline. You know the system didn’t give you that. You are born into this. So don’t think too harshly. You are who you are. A person meant to be."
Dante smiled softly and nodded. He then looked up and asked. "When do you think I am going to achieve Tier 3?"
"In a few days. I will call the Rebellion. I think it is about time the Artisan crafts the ritual to unlock your seal. Right now, your main focus should be toning into your inner self. Learning more about your heart."
Dante nodded and stood up. He opened the door and stepped outside. Before he left the room, he turned around and asked.
"When is your prophecy going to happen?"
"I don’t know yet. But I think it will take about a month or so. With the monster tide and stuff."
"I see." Dante muttered and left.
There was still plenty of time left for him to scroll around. So he did.
He wandered around the base, talking to various people. He tried not to ask too many questions like their class and profession but there were some slip ins.
He couldn’t help it. He was a greedy person. He didn’t go outside because the cave was nice and toasty. The air was also warm and at the same time, chill.
It was perfect. It reminded him of what Tendo said, Perfect Harmony.
He shook his head and walked around. He climbed up a tree and broke a tree branch. He took out a small knife he got from the weapon armory room.
Tendo gave him access to everything inside the base, including the information gathered by the High Heaven.
He curved out a wooden branch and made a figure. He hasn’t made a design yet. He just wanted to try a new thing.
After that, he played football with men. The rules were simple. No mana, no skill.
Dante’s team lost. His body was much stronger than everyone around him but his coordination skill was quite laughable.
He needed to train that. He noted down and went to the shower and cleaned himself.
He then ate dinner in the kitchen and had a conversation with Tendo. He talked about some nonsense. They, for some reason, avoided talking about anything that results in the current situation.
Dante thought that Tendo was seriously thinking about giving him the best rest, free from stress. He appreciated it a lot. He swore that he would pay back Tendo.
For now, it was an empty word.
