Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 522: Organizing the Battlefield
Ye Xuan commanded the superpower users who had been waiting impatiently at the bottom of the wall climbing to the top of the wall using the ladders placed there.
Those were the ones who would launch long-range superpower attacks.
The gate was also opened and the others filed out and spread on the battlefield.
"You take the ground, I’ll take the air." Chu Miao said to Ye Xuan who nodded and jumped from the wall.
Landing in front of the other superpower users.
Now that the two mythical beasts were not stopping the zombies and the bullets were no longer useful, a tide of zombies came rushing towards the fighters like a tidal wave.
Moreover, it seemed like the cannibal plants were full because the rate at which they caught the zombies had slowed down as well.
So, the remaining millions of zombies were coming at them with full momentum.
"Don’t waste energy, only target those that leave the trenches." Ye Xuan said, then ran forward at such a high speed that only a streak of black light was left behind. Moreover, that was an afterimage. As people marveled at that streak of light, a cloud of darkness enveloped a huge horde of zombies that had climbed on top of those who had fallen into the tertiary trenches.
Zombies kept slipping and falling into the trenches as they ran towards the humans that were so close.
As they piled into the trenches, the grenades that had been planted there exploded, blowing the zombies into pieces and those on top were thrown into the air.
Before they could touch the ground, the darkness enveloped them and what landed in the ground after that was white skeletons with the crystal cores missing.
Ye Xuan could control his spiritual energy like a part of him.
The black cloud changed shape according to his will and stripped the zombies of their energy, especially those with superpowers and flesh.
It also took the crystal cores from their brains before leaving an empty skeleton to the elements.
The superpower users behind him had their mouths so wide from shock a duck egg could fit inside.
They had never seen such a powerful person before.
He killed hundreds of zombies with every wave of his hand.
Not to be outdone, the superpower users on the wall launched long-range attacks such as water arrows and fire balls.
Some of the zombies managed to bypass Ye Xuan’s dark energy due to the wide space the battlefield occupied.
The other superpower users and even ordinary fighters who refused to remain at the back hiding like turtles joined the battle as well.
Soon, chaos ensued in the battlefield as people were torn apart by zombies, but they refused to go down in vain.
Everyone who died most definitely took at least two zombies with them.
Chu Miao launched water arrows from the air, with each arrow finding its mark. A crystal core came back with every arrow she recalled.
She observed from her spot how people lost their lives in the battlefield just to prevent the zombies from making it to the wall and threatening those inside the base.
Some of these people didn’t even have relatives they were fighting for, but just because they were humans, they refused to back down.
The zombies were overwhelming in numbers and soon even Ye Xuan’s darkness could not stop them from crossing the secondary trenches.
Luckily, this one was more complicated and more zombies fell inside and perished.
Those with fire superpowers took advantage of this gap to light the zombies in the trenches on fire, burning them to ashes.
The people assigned medical duty had set up large tents on all sides of the base where battles were taking place.
As soon as someone was injured in the battlefield, others would cover them and they would retrieve the injured and carry them into the base for treatment.
Mother Chu had insisted on serving near her daughter, so she was positioned in a tent near the entrance.
She also chose that spot because she could take care of those severely injured who wouldn’t make it to the inner tent or to the hall that had been converted into a hospital in the middle of the base.
At that moment, Mother Chu was dispensing wood spiritual energy like it was free.
Some people were injured so badly that their intestines were hanging out of their stomachs as zombies had cut them open with their mutated long nails.
Such people had the smallest chance of survival because they had also been infected by the zombie virus and would mutate within an hour.
However, Mother Chu refused to give up on anyone and worked without rest. Other doctors who had volunteered for the cause attended to those with bad injuries and needed suturing or surgery.
The minor wounds were left to the nurses or the civilians who had undergone an emergency crash course for treating injuries.
Mother Chu didn’t seem to know fatigue as she even went as far as to treat two people at the same time.
Placing her hand on their wounds and channeling spiritual power into them depending on their needs.
For those who had the zombie virus, she used her cultivated spiritual energy for treatment, and for those who just had bad wounds but no infection, she used her wood superpower.
The speed at which the people she healed recovered shocked the doctors there. And even those with wood superpower who had come to help couldn’t understand why their powers didn’t work so miraculously.
However, no one gave up. Instead, those bringing the injured in would be directed to different treatment stations depending on the severity of the patient.
For those on the verge of death, they were brought to Mother Chu while the others were attended to by other superpower users or regular doctors.
Far on the Southern side, Chu Miao could see purple lightning striking down followed by the roars of zombies and she knew that her grandfather was doing some serious damage there.
