Chapter 533: Chapter 533: The Bragging General

If my granddaughter doesn’t understand such simple battle terrain, then no one else would." General Chu suddenly walked into the tent used for planning.

"General." Almost everyone in the tent stood at attention and saluted the newcomer.

"No need for such formalities. Also, don’t look down on my granddaughter because of her age. She knows more about military tactics than some of you, and I am not bragging." Grandpa Chu said with a serious face that no one dared to doubt him.

"Grandpa, can you please be a little low-key?" Chu Miao walked over to her grandfather and grabbed his arm.

"Why should I be low-key when my granddaughter is so awesome? Alright, let’s check the battle formation then we can go out there and show those zombies what we are made of." General Chu said while rubbing his granddaughter’s hair.

The two surprised the military leaders in the tent who always thought that General Chu was a serious person but he seemed to be a softy when facing his granddaughter.

The military leader who had suggested to Chu Miao to sit aside went back to business immediately.

"General, we have a problem here." He pointed at a spot on the map.

"Most of the fighters we lost yesterday died here. But we can’t seem to understand why.

We sent more people to reinforce this area, but it didn’t have much of an impact." He continued.

Grandpa Chu looked at the entire map and immediately identified the problem.

He turned to Chu Miao and asked, "Bunny, what do you think is the problem?"

Some of the most serious military leaders there almost choked on their breath when they heard that.

A little girl with a nickname like ’Bunny’. Could she really know anything about military tactics?

But no one said anything. They wanted to see what this granddaughter General Chu bragged about was made of.

Chu Miao didn’t seem to think that something was wrong and simply studied the map for a couple of minutes before identifying the issue.

"Didn’t you realize that there is a blind spot here?" Chu Miao asked as she pointed at a spot on the outer side of the range of the battle line.

"But that is such a long distance away from where the battle is happening. How does it affect the number of casualties?" One leader asked.

They had not looked at the map that far as they concentrated mostly on the area closer to the base where soldiers were posted.

"You can’t ignore it because you think it’s inconsequential.

That ignored blind spot is the reason so many people died yesterday.

The number of zombies crossing to the other areas is lower than in this spot because some of them are eliminated by the man-eating plants here." Chu Miao pointed at the place where the plants that feed on zombies were concentrated.

She then pointed at the place where a blind spot was in, "This place doesn’t have those plants. Or rather the number is so low that it barely makes a difference.

So, the number of zombies entering the battlefield from this area is overwhelming.

At the same time, the soldiers are distributed evenly.

So, even though this place faces more enemies, the number of defenders is the same as in other areas where the number of zombies is significantly reduced by the plants.

How can the fighters here be able to hold on? That’s why the death toll here was higher.

You shouldn’t ignore the blind spot just because it’s far from the battlefield.

It still has an impact on the battle. So, you need to account for that." Chu Miao’s analysis surprised the military leaders there.

Something even they had overlooked and that seemed inconsequential to the battle was actually spotted by a nineteen year old girl within a couple minutes.

Indeed, General Chu wasn’t just bragging. He was telling the truth.

"So, do we send more soldiers here?" Commander Shen asked, pointing at the spot Chu Miao had identified.

"No, sending soldiers there is equivalent to sending them to their deaths. After all, that is where the zombies are more concentrated." Grandpa Chu immediately objected.

"Then what do we do to reduce the casualties?" Another leader asked in frustration.

General Chu then turned to Ye Xuan.

"Xiao Xuan, do you think those demon beasts of yours will manage?" He asked and also turned to look at his granddaughter.

One of the demon beasts was hers after all.

"Even though the area isn’t big, the number of zombies entering is large, one beast might not be enough but if we sent two in, it will significantly reduce the pressure on the soldiers and thus, reduce the casualties." Ye Xuan explained.

"That’s good. Will you send yours and Bunny’s or someone else’s?" Grandpa Chu asked.

He knew that most of those who entered the ancient battlefield had come out with contracted demon beasts.

"Mine can go, the size alone will act as a barrier." Ye Xuan replied.

"Did you have any plans for Little White?" Ye Xuan turned to look at Chu Miao and asked.

Chu Miao had indeed planned to send Little White to her grandfather’s side to assist.

She didn’t want her grandfather to exhaust himself the way he had done the previous day again.

"I wanted it to accompany grandpa. How about sending in the saber tooth tiger and the Kau Serpent? I am sure Lei Ying and Gu Fan wouldn’t object." Chu Miao suggested.

"I will contact them and have them send their demon beasts there now." Ye Xuan agreed immediately and left the tent to send a message to his brothers.

"Are those demon beasts you are talking about powerful?" Someone asked.

"Are you kidding me? If the kind of battle I witnessed yesterday with that huge tortoise and the tiger,..." A military leader who had been on the same battlefield as Chu Miao said, but lowered his voice when talking about the white tiger since it was there with them.
