Apocalypse with my SSS Harem Beauties-Chapter 127: Hungry Hunters
The outer shell collapsed in heavy chunks. Stone and fleshy materials shattered against the asphalt as the massive structure split apart from the inside.
"GROOOAARRR!"
A deep roar burst through the intersection, shaking the surrounding buildings and sending fractured glass raining from broken windows.
What emerged was not a creature they expected. It was a massive wyvern tore free from the remains of the rock, spreading its enormous wings as dust and purple light spiraled around its body.
Its scales shining in dark violet and black, layered like forged armor infused with Ether. Veins of glowing purple ran beneath its hide, pulsing in rhythm with the unstable energy saturating the air.
Its eyes opened. The two blazing orbs of violent purple fixed onto the group below.
The wyvern stepped forward, claws digging into cracked asphalt as if it were soft soil. Each talon carved deep lines into the road. Palpable Ether gathered around its limbs, forming faint distortions in the air.
"I don’t think you need my help for this with your current conditions," said Lilian with an annoyed face. She actually hates fighting small fry like this.
"Yeah. Don’t worry," Myles said.
The pressure intensified. A suffocating weight descended upon the intersection. The guardian was not a monster they used to fight before. It was a concentrated mass of Ether, shaped to test those who sought passage.
However, the monster was still the biggest threat they ever felt. This wyvern wasn’t as strong as him.
Its wings stretched fully now, spanning nearly the width of the intersection. When it flapped, a shockwave of wind blasted outward, forcing debris to scatter and dust to swirl violently around the companions.
The temperature dropped slightly. Dark mist coiled around its mouth.
The wyvern’s chest expanded, then contracted, as if drawing Ether directly from the surroundings.
The cracks in the asphalt began glowing faintly under its influence. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
Myles stepped forward without hesitation. He did not need to command them.
Victor tightened his grip and lowered his center of gravity. Clara shifted to the right flank, fists clenched around her frost spear. Kade clenches his fist on his gauntleted hands.
Samantha drew her bowstring back slowly, eyes focused on a weak point between scales. George and Daniel moved apart to create cross pressure. Ethan steadied both pistols while controlling his breath.
Formation settled naturally.
The wyvern lifted its head and released a piercing roar that tore through the air. Purple energy flared from its throat, swirling into a condensed sphere before dissipating into sparks.
Its wings beat again and it launched into the air.
The ground cracked under the force of its takeoff. A burst of wind swept across the intersection, pressing against the companions like a physical wall.
Above them, the wyvern hovered, its shadow swallowing the streets below. Ether energy gathered around its claws and along the edges of its wings, forming sharp crescent arcs of condensed energy.
At that moment they knew that this was not a simple flying beast.
Myles adjusted his stance, his eyes locked onto the creature’s movement.
Myles tightened his grip on Fangblade in his right hand and the Noctiryx dagger in his left. Both weapons felt steady, perfectly balanced, responding to the Ether flowing through his arms.
He moved first and sent Shadow Rend that tore through the air in a dark crescent arc. The compressed slash traveled with brutal speed, distorting the space in its wake.
It struck the wyvern’s side before the creature could fully stabilize in midair.
The impact exploded in a burst of corrupted Ether.
The wyvern’s body twisted violently. Its wings faltered. The carefully gathered energy around its claws scattered as its balance broke.
It roared in fury and dropped.
The massive body crashed back onto the intersection, shattering asphalt and sending debris outward in a violent shockwave.
Myles did not stop.
The wyvern inhaled sharply and unleashed a breath of corrupted Ether.
A torrent of blackened violet energy erupted forward, spreading like a tidal wave. The air hissed as the corruption tore across the ground from the wyvern.
The companions scattered instantly.
They had trained for this.
The breath carved a smoking trench across the intersection, melting debris and forcing the wyvern to brace its claws against the ground.
The corruption clung to the environment, eating away at the concrete, woods, glass, and metals scattered around.
Then they counterattacked.
Samantha and Ethan opened fire from the rear line.
Arrows shot through the air with sharp precision. Bullets followed in controlled bursts. The projectiles carried activated weapon skills.
When the arrows struck between scales. Ethan’s bullets detonated with compressed force, disrupting the wyvern’s Ether defense and physical defense.
The guardian staggered under the layered pressure.
Myles circled from the side and launched forward.
He jumped, crossing the distance in a single explosive motion. His Fangblade slashed downward while the Noctiryx dagger followed in a crossing arc. Dark trails carved across the wyvern’s neck and shoulder.
Kade rushed in next.
His fiery gauntlets blazed bright orange as he drove his fists into the wyvern’s body. The impacts detonated in compact explosions, fire spreading across the scales and forcing cracks in the scales.
From the opposite side, Clara thrust her frost spear.
The spearhead pierced through a weakened section and unleashed freezing energy. Ice spread rapidly from the wound, slowing the muscle beneath and stiffening part of the wing joint.
The wyvern shrieked and retaliated.
One massive claw swung downward toward Myles and Kade.
George stepped in.
His hammer collided with the descending claw in a thunderous impact.
The force shattered the wyvern’s bone and scales simultaneously. The wyvern’s talon cracked and broke apart under the overwhelming counterforce.
The guardian recoiled, clearly shocked.
Victor seized the moment.
He sprinted up the side of a half-collapsed building and found a purchase along broken concrete. Reaching the peak, he launched himself into the air.
His cleaver descended with savage precision.
The blade tore into the wyvern’s wing membrane, ripping through scale and tendon.
Ether burst outward as the structure ripped. The damaged wing split open under the force.
The wyvern crashed fully onto the ground. Its ability to take flight vanished in an instant.
Now grounded, surrounded, and bleeding corrupted Ether, the guardian faced them hungry hunters.
