Chapter 57: Chapter 48 Cleanup_1
“Good girl, I drove the heavy truck back. In a while, I’ll put some heavy stuff in. You and Chen Li’s family start moving the lighter things in. Wait for your husband to scout the road first, to make sure there is no danger.”
Li Ming admired the captivating woman in front of him. He had carefully listened to the conversation, and his heart was increasingly satisfied with this woman.
However, satisfaction was accompanied by some agitation triggered by her words and the current environment.
…
“Phew, is everything ready?”
In the room, Li Ming looked at the things packed by Zhang Yuan in various backpacks. Looking around the room, he saw that apart from a few bulky items, most things were packed, to his surprise.
Zhang Yuan was so capable!
“Yes, I’ve been busy for a long time. Now that you’re ready to scout, when you come back, I should have finished packing up the house,” Zhang Yuan came out of the bathroom, shaking off the water droplets from her slender fingers and said.
“Good job, I’ll move these heavy things first, and then Chen Li’s family and I will move together, so they won’t bother you.”
Li Ming nodded with satisfaction, praised Zhang Yuan, and then, under her laughing gaze, he picked up the oil barrel from the ground and walked downstairs.
“Be careful.”
Seeing Li Ming carrying such a big oil barrel, Zhang Yuan hurriedly followed him, her straight legs wrapped in tight blue jeans kept up with Li Ming.
But Li Ming was so strong that even before his power enhancement, he could carry it alone. Now that he had acquired physical strength enhancement abilities, a bucket of oil was easily carried by him. He ran quickly downstairs and loaded it into the truck.
Zhang Yuan saw his agility and didn’t bother to follow him downstairs. She stayed at the staircase, watching Li Ming’s strong body carrying the oil barrels over and over again.
She thought, thankfully, he hadn’t been using all that strength on her.
After five trips, Li Ming carried down all five large oil barrels. Then he moved the heavy packs. The fridge and generator continued to run, not moved in haste.
“Leave the fridge and the generator for now. I’m going to go scout. I don’t want the fridge to lose temperature too quickly if the power goes off. We’ll move it to the truck when we’re ready to leave.”
Li Ming wiped the sweat off his forehead and instructed Zhang Yuan.
“Okay, in a bit Chen Li and I will clean up the remaining bits and pieces.”
Zhang Yuan nodded her head repeatedly, pointed towards the door to the stairway and said with a smile.
“Alright, I’ll go check on her family. Later, I’ll head to the convenience store to see if there’s anything else we need.”
Li Ming noted that even after loading most of their belongings onto the heavy truck, there was still plenty of room left. Naturally, they took as many supplies as they could.
“Alright”
Zhang Yuan nodded, took her long strides, her waist swaying as she followed Li Ming to Chen Li’s house.
Leaving Chen Li’s door ajar, Li Ming pushed it open to find that her living room had been cleared out. The sofas and tables were covered with cloths, looking quite meticulous.
A few large packages were left in the living room. It was not clear what they contained since they didn’t have much food, while Chen Li and her mother were still busy packing up some other bits and pieces.
“Sister Chen Li, how is the packing going?”
Zhang Yuan greeted her first. Chen Li turned her head to look and saw them standing at the door. She quickly got up and welcomed them. Because Chen Li moved so abruptly, her bosom swayed intensely.
“Almost finished, what about you?”
Chen Li took a breath and replied.
“My husband has loaded all the big stuff onto the truck. Only the small pieces are left. But that man is a little bit tricky, so my husband would like you to help me later, just to avoid him bothering me.”
Zhang Yuan looked at the bustling Chen Li in front of her and hurriedly spoke. Chen Li glanced at Li Ming and saw him nod with a smile. She understood and immediately nodded incessantly, “Okay, I’ll take these things to the truck.”
“Let me do it.”
There was no way Li Ming would let a few frail women carry such heavy stuff. He immediately picked up the packages, two on his left shoulder and two stacked on his right, and headed downstairs.
Chen Li followed Li Ming, warning him to be careful. She followed him all the way to the big truck. When he put the stuff in the truck, she finally sighed a sigh of relief, then immediately followed Li Ming back to carry the last two packages, watching him take everything downstairs.
“Don’t worry, you know how strong he is. Carrying this stuff is nothing to him.”
Zhang Yuan couldn’t resist laughing at Chen Li’s worried appearance. She spoke casually with a beaming smile.
Chen Li blushed and kept nodding her head. Then she saw Li Ming quickly ascend the stairs again, and immediately went to get a towel to help him wipe his sweat.
Zhang Yuan glanced at the attentive Chen Li, the corner of her mouth twitched into a smile, not paying it any mind.
Now, she and Li Ming were closely connected. These small matters were naturally handled, no need to worry.
Compared to Chen Li who was extremely thankful for Li Ming carrying a few packages, Zhang Yuan’s relationship with Li Ming was much stronger, giving her a sense of pleasure.
“Alright, I’m going to go scout. You two stay here and put all the odds and ends into the truck. Zhang Yuan, give me the keys to the electric tricycle.”
Li Ming patted Chen Li’s butt, said with a smile, and then signaled Zhang Yuan.
Zhang Yuan nodded, went to get the keys to the three-wheeled electric bike that Li Ming had brought back earlier, along with his weapon, and also brought over his backpack.
Li Ming let go of Chen Li’s butt, went over to put on his gear, checked the binoculars in his backpack, nodded with satisfaction, then picked up his weapon, said goodbye to the two women, and strode downstairs.
Seeing Li Ming leave, the two women exchanged smiling glances, then Chen Li took the initiative to go to Li Ming’s house and cleaned up the remaining stuff with Zhang Yuan.
“Click~”
During clean-up, a soft sound of the door opening came from outside. Zhang Yuan frowned, she and Chen Li stood up and went to the door, indeed seeing Peng Zhi awkwardly standing at the door, “Um, can I charge my phone again?”
Chen Li’s eyes moved and she looked at Zhang Yuan. When Zhang Yuan saw that Peng Zhi was behaving, she casually waved her hand. Peng Zhi quickly plugged in the charger and connected the phone and power bank, then took a deep breath and sat next to it, keeping an eye on it.
Zhang Yuan was indifferent, continuing to busily pack up with Chen Li. When they were almost done, they took the stuff directly to the truck with Chen Li, and then went back to Chen Li’s house to wait.
…
…
…
The distance from Linjiang villa area to Li Ming’s neighborhood was eight kilometers away.
On a normal day, even if riding an electric bike, it would have been a quick trip. However, in this post-apocalyptic situation, Li Ming dared not take the same approach. He was careful, observed the surroundings, and slowly advanced.
