"We will carry him out." Meng Suisui and Wan Guo Fu agreed at once. They helped Bai Meiyue in carrying Lei Qian out of the room. While the two of them were bringing Lei Qian out, Bai Meiyue was about to clean the room and bring the rest of the things that Lei Qian had left behind, and it was during this time, when she was cleaning the space, that she saw a picture lying on the floor.

However, her back was to them, and she was looking at the incredibly fast black shadow that was coming closer and closer with each passing second.

Bai Meiyue’s eyes narrowed when she saw the black shadow coming closer.

She shouted to Wan Guo Fu, "Keep running! Don’t stop."

As she spoke, she placed her hands on her belly and started running as well, but she didn’t dare to run too fast. She stepped onto the ice bridge and turned around suddenly when she saw that the black shadow was rushing towards her. Seeing this, Bai Meiyue’s eyes widened, and she hurriedly morphed an ice spear and hurled it at the thing, but the zombie didn’t stop, as it was at the fourth level, and what was more terrifying was that this zombie was about to move to the fifth level. If she was not careful, then she was sure that this thing would kill her right away.

Bai Meiyue hurriedly prepared for another attack when the shadow took three large lunges and pounced on her.

"Bai Meiyue!"

Wan Guo Fu shouted behind her, and she heard the sound of footsteps coming over.

"Leave me alone! You need to leave."

Bai Meiyue smiled when she said those words. A part of her was quite sad and horrified when she realised that she was the one who said those words. A person like her, who spent more than ten years in the apocalypse in her past life, was actually telling others to run away and leave her alone to fight this thing, when clearly, she should have left these people to die and yet she was here standing in between them like a rock., after suffering so much, she thought that she had grown cold-hearted and selfish. But who would have thought that she was still as silly as ever? She actually told Wan Guo Fu to leave her alone to face a fourth-level zombie?

Just what was going on in her mind? Had she lost it completely?

However, just as Bai Meiyue pulled one of her legs back, a sharp knife came flying and dug deep into the skull of the zombie, but this zombie was bigger and stronger. The knife alone was not enough to take it down.

"Yueyue, crouch down!"

Fox’s voice echoed from somewhere behind her, but where, Bai Meiyue didn’t know, and she didn’t even care. The one thing that she cared about was that he asked her to bend down. Holding her belly, she squatted down and then—

The sound of machine gun firing echoed behind them. The bullets pierced the zombie mercilessly without any mercy. Once, twice, thrice...no one knew how many times the zombie was shot. At first, the zombie tried to fight back, but then the sound of a machine gun started to echo from all over the space. Bai Meiyue didn’t dare raise her head and continued to squat in a corner.

She could feel the wind whirling past her as bullets continued to fly past her.

The people behind her continued to shoot crazily until the fourth-rank zombie stopped moving and turned into a sieve.

It was estimated that the snipers were hiding in the shadows and waiting to help her out in case something went wrong. She wondered why these people were going to such lengths to protect her. In the past, she didn’t have anyone protecting her, and now that someone was going to such lengths to protect her–it was a rather complicated feeling which made her feel weird. Because no one had ever cared for her, not even once.

Bai Meiyue raised her head and saw Fox aiming at the zombies with countless ability users. Not only were they targeting the fourth-rank zombies, but they were also attacking the zombies that were slowly climbing up the pillars of the bridge. As the shooting on the bridge, Bai Meiyue slowly got to her feet and then turned to look behind her completely. The locks of her hair were fluttering behind her. Just a second ago, she thought that she was going to lose her life and just at that very second, her sadness disappeared.

Even after saying Lei Qian, Wan Guo Fu and Meng Suisui, she was still alive and that was all that mattered.

I am sorry, baby; I placed you in danger. After all, I needed to protect your father—if something happened to him, I am sure you would have never forgiven me.

Bai Meiyue knew that her son loved his dad way more than he loved his mother. If something had happened to Lei Qian, who always spoilt Xiao Cai, her son would have never forgiven her.

With a sigh, she turned to look at Fox and said, "Thank you for saving my life." As annoying as Fox was, she had to admit that it was all because of him that she was able to survive this danger.

Once she finished speaking, she turned to look at the fourth-ranking zombie. That thing had been dealt with thoroughly and it blew to bits due to the bullets that had been fired at it. There was not a single spot that had been left. Bai Meiyue looked at the fourth-ranking zombies very carefully and realised that it was actually a zombie with speed and shadow ability. Her eyes raised slightly as she stretched out her hand and fetched the crystal nuclei of the monster.

As the hand retracted and placed the crystal nuclei in her hand, Bai Meiyue weighed it and realised that it did weigh quite a lot.

Bai Meiyue looked at the crystal nuclei and then raised her head to look at the zombie and frowned.
