Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 120: Eaten alive
Chapter 120: Eaten alive
They made their way to the marine research institute, carefully navigating the surging waters once more.
Lydia felt a surge of excitement at the thought of finally seeing her parents.
It had been nearly three weeks since their last conversation, and her worry for them had intensified.
A nagging sense of unease settled over her, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to happen.
’Why do I feel this unease? I hope they’re okay.’
She sighed loudly, drawing everyone’s attention.
Elena raised her brows in confusion at Lydia’s sudden shift from excitement to a frown and asked with concern, "Why are you still frowning? Shouldn’t you be happy now that you’ll be able to see your parents later?"
"Nothing, just a little worried," Lydia replied, her thoughts drifting to her parents.
"They’ll be fine. Don’t overthink it; otherwise, it will drive you crazy if you keep worrying about them," Elena said, trying to console her.
Lydia nodded and tried her best to focus on the positive side.
Afterward, Oslo drove the motorboat carefully, passing by many people rowing their boats as they urgently left the area after gathering some essentials from the supermarket.
They anxiously guarded their supplies, afraid that someone would try to rob them.
Well, the robbers and rogues were still rampant, but this time, Elena took swift action—no longer willing to tolerate their nonsense or offer any second chances.
She dealt with them ruthlessly, firing at their boat and watching as the strong current of the water swept them away.

Meanwhile, the DUP, led by General Kaiser, had been busy for the past two days.
Only fifteen members remained, as most had either resigned or been recruited into the Military in City D.
It was the old man Heather’s doing; his poisonous words had swayed his subordinates, fueling General Kaiser’s frustration.
He could only hope they wouldn’t regret their choice.
Now, they were almost at the marine research institute, having volunteered to rescue the military personnel and the scientists trapped in the building.
It took considerable effort to secure six inflatable boats, each capable of carrying eight individuals, along with one motorboat.
The military was overwhelmed, as all available equipment was being used to assist other citizens.
Additionally, the typhoon was too strong, making it unsafe to depart. As a result, they waited two days before they could finally take action.
"Alright, everyone, we’re almost there," General Kaiser instructed through his walkie-talkie.
"Roger, General," a captain replied, scanning the surroundings for any signs of danger.
Everyone was eager to complete the mission, as this marked their first operation in Military A.
As they got closer, they finally spotted a tall building with only three floors remaining.
They quickened their pace, eager to arrive soon, but Brother Elias warned them to stop for a moment.
"Stop! Let’s hide in a secluded area first and prepare ourselves. I sense that something is wrong," Brother Elias suggested, feeling the danger in the area.
"What happened?" General Kaiser asked, trying to understand their situation.
"There seems to be uninvited guests lurking around."
"Brother Elias, stop with the riddles and get straight to the point."
"I don’t know exactly what it is, but I sense a formidable opponent around the building."
General Kaiser was on high alert due to the unknown enemy, so he instructed everyone to gather intelligence from a distance.
He then monitored the situation with his telescope, searching for clues.
After a few seconds, they saw an enormous alligator leaping out of the water, attempting to catch the people who were sticking their heads out of the window.
Everyone was shocked as they processed what had just happened. General Kaiser, on the other hand, was worried about how to get the people out of the building.
With this enormous alligator lurking around, the situation would be difficult.
He already had an idea of how this alligator had grown so large—it was a mutated one.
Eliminating it would be challenging unless they used a specific explosive capable of eradicating it.
The problem now was how to do this without damaging the building or harming the people inside.
"Is this the danger you mentioned?"
"Yes, let’s strategize first. I believe the building is sturdy enough to withstand its attack."
"Alright, the pressing matter now is whether we should eliminate the mutated beast or lure it away to rescue the people inside before making our escape."
The DUP was now urgently discussing the situation as they devised a solid plan to rescue the people in the building.
On the other side, Mr. and Mrs. Benette were truly terrified of the creature; it was their first time seeing such a massive alligator.
As marine specialists, they had never encountered a variant species like this before, unaware that it had been mutated.
"Commander, what are we going to do? If this enormous alligator keeps banging against the building, it will cause damage, and the water might flood us sooner."
The commander was also facing a dilemma, but when the alligator began to wreak havoc by slamming its body against the building, he quickly instructed, "Everyone, open fire!"
Bang!Bang!Bang!
Soon, a gunshot rang out as the military personnel attempted to kill the enormous alligator.
They believed that with their full firepower, they could take it down, but they were shocked when the alligator lunged forward and clamped its massive jaws around one of them.
"What the heck! The alligator didn’t die!" a logistics personnel screamed, frightened by the situation.
Panic arose among the non-combatants as they wondered how the alligator was still alive.
It was now banging loudly against the building, seemingly enraged.
"Commander, it seems to be immune to gunfire."
The commander was stunned, wondering how tough its skin must be if a gunshot couldn’t penetrate it.
"Let’s try again. Let’s see if it can survive this time."
Another round of gunfire rang out, but unfortunately, it did not affect the alligator. With limited options, they began to consider more powerful means to eradicate the creature.
Bang!Bang!Bang
"It didn’t work. How about a grenade?" one soldier suggested.
"Try it. Just make sure to throw it far enough," the commander replied.
A soldier then peered into the water below, trying to locate the alligator.
When he saw a dark spot growing larger and larger, he threw the grenade.
A deafening explosion followed.
BOOM!
The water splashed everywhere as the building shook slightly.
The soldier quickly assessed the area for any sign of a floating body, but unfortunately, nothing was visible.
"Maybe it sank to the bottom," one soldier suggested.
"There should be at least some blood around," another replied.
Silence enveloped them as they waited for any sign of the alligator’s dead body.
Soon, another set of slamming echoed through the building, this time sounding desperate.
The alligator was still alive.
The non-combat members were feeling anxious, crying, and desperately hoping for rescue to arrive.
They wanted to leave this area as soon as possible.
"Maybe there are more of them, and the rescuers who were supposed to save us have already been eaten," one of them suggested, fear evident in their voice.
"Enough! Stop frightening the others!" the commander shouted.
He then instructed the soldiers to fire their weapons again, hoping to distract the alligator while they devised a plan.
The sound of gunfire echoed through the area, creating a momentary diversion as they strategized their next move.
Seeing the unfolding situation, General Kaiser realized just how formidable this mutated alligator was.
He noted that even a grenade had failed to harm it.
"Let’s lure it out of the building," he proposed.
"How are you going to do that?" Brother Elias asked.
"I’ll drive the motorboat and use myself as bait while you guys rescue the personnel trapped and get them away from this area covertly," General Kaiser explained seriously.
Brother Elias looked around, sensing the auras of the soldiers. Each one was shrouded in black, indicating impending doom, while General Kaiser’s aura radiated with vibrant life, suggesting that his time had not yet come.
Intrigued, Brother Elias pondered how General Kaiser would manage to outsmart death in such a perilous situation, especially against an alligator that was far too powerful.
Plus, the water gave the creature a significant advantage, making the odds seem even more daunting.
"Go ahead. We’ll make sure to rescue everyone."
"No more safety reminders or anything to help me?"
"Nah, you’re going to live."
General Kaiser felt relieved. This abbot had always been true to his word; if he said you were going to live, then all you had to do was your best.
He then prepared himself for action, instructing everyone to head to the building as soon as the alligator moved.
"Take care."
General Kaiser then drove the motorboat close to the building, circling around to grab the mutated alligator’s attention.
Soon, a chase unfolded before everyone’s eyes. General Kaiser drove at breakneck speed while the mutated alligator followed closely, eager to destroy the annoying boat.
"Look! A motorboat is trying to lure the enormous alligator!"
"Did help arrive? Finally, we’re saved... Sob... Sob..."
When they spotted an inflatable boat floating nearby, they quickly concluded that rescue was on the way.
Without hesitation, they worked together to leave the area urgently.
Relief was evident on their faces as they rowed the boat hurriedly.
Meanwhile, General Kaiser was sweating profusely in the cold weather. The alligator seemed to be getting closer, so he opted to move faster.
Suddenly, a log appeared in his path, and the boat struck it with such force that it soared dramatically into the air.
At that very moment, the alligator leaped, aiming to snatch the person driving the boat.
Its enormous mouth opened wide, ready to devour General Kaiser.
"F*CK."
Everyone watching from a distance was filled with terror.
The brave soldier who had sacrificed himself was on the brink of being eaten alive.
Shouts of horror erupted from the afar.
"Oh no!"
"General!"
On the other hand, General Kaiser cursed his situation.
’What’s this about living? Ha! The abbot lied; Bullsh*t! I’m going to be eaten ALIVE!’
