Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 151: Confrontation with the robbers
Chapter 151: Confrontation with the robbers
Ethan quickly called everyone to gather and informed them they had been targeted again.
"Let’s prepare, everyone. Another group of robbers is trying to break into our floor; they’re currently drilling through the wall and could enter at any moment," he said thoughtfully as he informed everyone of the impending confrontation.
"What do we do now?" Grandma Ford replied worriedly, glancing at the little kids.
"No need to worry. The doors in each unit have been reinforced to withstand even explosives. Those who aren’t participating should stay inside," Ethan responded, confident that the sturdy doors would provide them with safety.
Everyone sighed in relief.
Their primary concern wasn’t their own safety but the well-being of the little kids, who were too young to defend themselves.
They wanted to access the space, but it remained inaccessible.
Grandma Ford and the others had tried to enter several times, but each attempt was unsuccessful
Now, they could only hope that Elena and her baby were safe and that the space would soon become operational.
With that thought lingering in their minds, they then refocused their attention to the current situation.
"Alright, it’s time to show these robbers their place. Since they’re so adamant, let’s beat them at their own game," Ethan said with disdain.
He had noticed that this group of robbers was a small-time organization with little experience, and he had already devised a plan for their downfall.
Everyone was intrigued by Ethan’s confident demeanor.
"Chief, what’s your plan?" Oslo asked, curious about what he was plotting.
"Oslo, do you still have tear gas on you?" Ethan inquired.
"Yes, Chief. I stored plenty of it last time."
"Good. Since the area is closed off, let’s use the tear gas to trap them all together," he said with a sneer, contemplating their fate.
Watching these robbers give it their all would be thrilling, only to ultimately fail.
Ethan wasn’t a narcissist, but today he found himself in a bad mood, consumed with worry about the whereabouts of his wife and unborn child.
Since the robbers were determined to be his outlet for frustration, he decided to play with them.
Oslo was stunned; this approach was unlike the Ethan he knew.
The chief he was familiar with was usually calm and collected, always thinking strategically.
But today, there was a fire in Ethan’s eyes that suggested he was ready to unleash his pent-up anger.
He sighed and followed his chief’s instructions.
Soon, they quickly positioned themselves in the other units, waiting for the robbers to enter the floor.
The outside air was frigid, and even though they were bundled up in warm clothes, the cold still seeped in, making them shudder.
"So cold," Ramon said, chattering his teeth.
"Get ready; they’ll be entering soon," Ethan warned.
Everyone busied themselves, anxiously waiting for the robbers.
According to Ethan, there were at least six of them armed with guns, so they needed to stay vigilant, as the robbers might fire shots if cornered.
He had also instructed them that the moment the robbers entered the 26th floor, they would toss the tear gas simultaneously yet covertly.
A mix of anticipation and worry hung around them, as this was the first time they would take action to defend their home.
Most of the time, Ethan and Elena handled the threats, but now it was their turn to step up.
After a few minutes, the robbers finally breached the sturdy gate.
"F*ck, it’s freezing. This raid is way harder than any we’ve done," one of the robbers complained, huddling himself for warmth.
"Better be worth it; otherwise, it’s a waste of our time," another replied.
"Stop talking. Let’s move now," the leader commanded, his voice sharp and authoritative, ready to take action.
They hurried upstairs but soon encountered a mist that felt out of place. At first, they thought the fog had returned.
"Urgh! Why are we so unlucky today?" one complained.
"Move faster!" the leader urged.
But suddenly, the strange mist enveloped them, stinging their eyes and leaving them disoriented.
Panic set in as they struggled to see; their throats were also burning, forcing them to cough uncontrollably.
"Cough... Urgh... This fog feels different,"
"Cover your nose!"
Seeing their comrades gasping for air, fear spread among them, and most fell into a state of chaos.
"What happened? This mist seems weird, I feel...." a robber said, collapsing on the floor.
"Retreat!"
But before they could leave the floor, Ethan and the others sprang into action. They donned their gas masks, allowing them to move freely.
Ethan didn’t hesitate to eliminate anyone he encountered. Oslo and Xander also carried out their tasks, ensuring no one escaped.
Soon, the robbers realized they were being ambushed. At first, they tried to fight back, but the potency of the tear gas made them dizzy and helpless.
"Urggg... Boss, help me! They’re taking us one by one!" a robber exclaimed, rubbing his eyes as he desperately sought a way out of this nightmare.
Hearing this, Ethan couldn’t help but sneer.
"You dare to raid our floor? Then you should be ready for our retaliation."
"F*ck—" Before he could finish, he was already dead.
The leader panicked and commanded everyone with a gun to open fire.
"Kill them all! Open fire! It’s either them or us!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The floor erupted with noise as gunshots rang out.
The robbers struggled to aim, their eyes burning with pain, making it difficult for them to see clearly.
Meanwhile, Ethan and the others took cover behind sturdy metal crates taken from their inventories.
They allowed the robbers to exhaust their ammunition before launching their counterattack.
The moment the gunfire stopped, Ethan aimed his gun at the armed robbers, taking them down one by one.
The robbers fell with their eyes wide open, not knowing the faces of the people who had taken their lives.
In their final moments, they were filled with anger and fear.
The leader, with no other choice, threatened Ethan and the others, claiming he had explosives on him and demanding to be let go.
"Let me leave, or we all die together," he said, determined to take everyone down with him.
