Arcane: The Gods Want Me to Pick a Route-Chapter 183: Lo-Logan—That Was a Lot!
At night, after his shower, Logan lay on the bed reading. Jinx had gone to Isha's room to tell her a bedtime story.
And just as he thought of Jinx, Logan saw the bedroom door crack open—then a figure in a blue nightgown slipped inside like a thief.
Jinx really was like a cat. Her personality, her temper, the little expressions she let slip sometimes, even her looks.
She was all long limbs and lean lines. Right now she was hunched over on her toes, sneaking in with that guilty little face, and Logan couldn't help laughing.
"Isha asleep?"
"Asleep. And that's exactly why I'm back." Jinx shut the door, straightened up, made a small satisfied hum, and flopped onto the bed—landing right on top of him.
"I thought you'd sleep with her tonight," Logan said.
Jinx lifted her head, braced herself over him, and pressed her soft lips to his. Then she pulled back and stared at him.
"What…" Logan didn't understand what she wanted.
Jinx didn't answer—she just dipped down again and kissed him once more.
"What are you trying to do…" Logan coughed lightly, meeting her bright blue eyes.
Her hair was still a little damp, clearly because she'd refused to dry it properly. It also grew ridiculously fast. When they'd left, it had been short. By the time they were living in Ionia, it had already reached her shoulders. Now it was practically trending toward her waist.
Maybe that was one of Jinx's weird talents.
Honestly, it made sense. Not many people could have hair like hers—so thick and so long. Back when Powder became Jinx, she'd been the kind of girl who could grow braids longer than a person's height in just a few years.
"You said when we got back to Zaun, you'd give me a gift," Jinx said, narrowing her eyes. As she spoke, she tilted her head slightly and flicked her gaze downward with unmistakable intent.
Logan didn't catch that look. He just heard the word "gift," and it hit him like lightning.
Oh—right. He'd totally forgotten to check what he got for Ahri's affinity passing six hundred.
He'd called Ahri, then gone straight home, then spent time with Isha, and the whole thing had slipped his mind. Realizing it now, Logan quickly held Jinx by the shoulders and said, "Wait. Let me handle something first."
"Huh?" Jinx froze, then immediately started grinding her teeth—little white, cute tiger fangs clicking as she snapped, "What are you doing? Going to see that fox again?"
"Not her. Something else," Logan said quickly.
"Really?"
"Really. When have I ever lied to you?"
Hearing that, Jinx rolled off to the side and lay down. "Fine. Go."
"Yeah. I'll be right back." Logan nodded.
Then he opened the system interface and entered the system space.
When Logan entered the mental realm, he lost connection to the physical world. No matter how someone called him, he wouldn't respond—because his soul had gone into Spirit Blossom.
"Logan?"
"Logan!"
When Logan suddenly went still, Jinx popped up, excitement flashing across her face. She shoved him hard a few times, but he didn't react at all.
Jinx's eyes darted around—mischievous as ever. Then she crawled toward the foot of the bed like a cat burglar, sat down, and started poking the "little guy" in front of her.
"I'm going to do something bad to you… Logan, you're not refusing?"
"…Okay. If you're not talking, that means you agree."
"And you said you were going to give it to me anyway. In Ionia you said it wasn't convenient, but we're home now. That means it's convenient, right?"
With a sly grin, Jinx decided to try something she'd picked up from those "nice books" Karina and the other Piltover noble girls—the ones who treated Jinx like their boss—had shown her in private.
From those books, Jinx learned a lot.
So, after watching the "little guy" become a "very big guy", Jinx first showed a hesitant expression.
No—this… I can't swallow this. It's way too big... it'll break my throat!
Were the books right?
But after taking a deep breath and psyching herself up, Jinx slowly lowered her head.
In an instant her cheeks puffed out, her eyes widened, and Jinx—using what she'd learned from the books—started putting it into practice.
Not long after—

In the Spirit Blossom space, Logan looked at the two items in his inventory.
One was Ahri's Memory. The other was Ahri's Token.
[Ahri's Memory (Mythic)]
[Effect: Cannot be used by the host. Can be given as a gift to the corresponding special character.]
[Description: Contains a memory of Ahri, the Spirit of Salvation. This should be extremely helpful to her.]
Logan: "…"
So it wasn't for him?
It was for Ahri?
Logan didn't feel annoyed or anything. If it could make Ahri stronger, that made Logan stronger too.
Because Ahri helped him without conditions.
Then Logan looked at the other item.
[Ahri's Token (Open / Cancel)]
Logan tapped Open.
The next moment, the system prompt sounded.
[Congratulations. You have obtained: Fox Spirit Orb.]
In the inventory, the gift bag vanished. In its place appeared a small, delicate white spirit orb. Logan stared at it—and froze.
This thing… looked a lot like the jewel Ahri wore at her neck when she was in fox form. Like the centerpiece of a collar.
Logan opened the item panel.
[Fox Spirit Orb (Mythic)]
[Effect: When worn, greatly increases the host's Charm. Increases the host's sensitivity to elements.]
[Description: The physical realm and the spiritual realm are two sides of a single leaf. Perhaps somewhere in the physical world, there is also an Ahri searching for this orb.]
"…"
"Well, at least this one I can use." Logan took the orb out of his inventory.
It wasn't big—about the size of a Hextech gemstone. And it came with a collar.
Wait. A collar?!
Logan's mouth twitched as he stared at the pale, softly-colored choker in his hand.
It was pretty, sure, but there was no way he wanted to wear that. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Still, simply keeping it on him seemed to work. Even holding it, he could feel his magic senses sharpen, as if the world's patterns were suddenly clearer.
Thinking of Jinx waiting outside, Logan exited the Spirit Blossom space.
Time flowed differently between the two worlds. It felt like he'd only been there for a minute or two, but outside it could've been half an hour. If he made Jinx wait too long, she'd definitely start causing trouble.
But the instant Logan returned to the physical realm—his soul snapping back into his body—he shivered violently.
Then he saw Jinx, in slippers, sprinting out of the room.
Her hair was twisted up into a big bun on top of her head. Her cheeks were puffed, one hand clamped over her mouth. Her eyes were red as she bolted down the hall.
"???"
Logan froze, completely confused about what was going on.
Then he felt it—wet, sticky, and uncomfortably warm under the blanket.
What the hell… did I pee myself?—
No. Not that.
Logan slid a hand under the covers.
He sucked in a sharp breath and went completely rigid.
Yes. Logan went rigid.
It wasn't until Jinx came back—something white and creamy from the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand over and over—that Logan finally snapped out of it.
Staring blankly, trembling, Logan asked, "W-what did you do to me?"
Jinx spat a few times at the floor. The skin around her eyes was still red, and her eyes were watery. She looked at Logan, and for once her usually sly face wore a dazed, aggrieved innocence.
Then Jinx pointed at him like she was filing a complaint and blurted, "Logan—Logan, that was a lot! It spit up a lot!"
Logan: "?"
