Armed Train in the Apocalypse-Chapter 354 - 242: Going Into the Water
"Kind of resembles Cthulhu."
Shu Wei suddenly remarked from behind.
Su Huan tilted his head, puzzled, "What is Cthulhu?"
Shu Wei pointed to the tentacle writhing on the table, "A strange mythological figure, whose representation is just like this, covered in tentacles..."
"I wouldn’t call it a deity. This mutated zombie just has stronger vitality, but it still needs to absorb nutrients and universal energy from nature to regenerate new limbs."
Yu Jing shook her head and said.
While the two of them were speaking, Su Huan had already walked over to the control platform, listening to them while examining the severed tentacle closely.
He extended a finger.
The tentacle reacted as if sensing something, with the tip wrapping around his fingertip, the slippery feel making a shiver run down his spine.
’It seems to have some awareness, so I guess I can’t let you live, can I?’
Su Huan curled his lips.
"Thunderstorm."
The furious Thunder Serpent erupted, instantly engulfing the entire control platform. The crackling explosions and bright lightning filled the entire compartment.
Illuminating the surprised faces of the two women.
The alarm blared endlessly until Shu Wei stepped out and spoke a few words, silencing it.
It took a full minute before Su Huan stopped.
Leaning back, he looked towards Yu Jing, "Sorry, killed it."
The sound of thunder vanished instantly, leaving the room deathly silent.
Shu Wei glanced at Yu Jing, who stood still, sensing a hint of something between the two from her woman’s intuition.
Yu Jing’s eyes slightly raised, seemingly surprised, then lowered as she said mildly, "I was originally planning to ask you to help weaken it a bit, but this makes things easier."
Su Huan: "(# ̄Д ̄)→"
Realizing he misunderstood, Su Huan was slightly annoyed, "So what were you planning to do with it?"
Yu Jing moved her long legs, walking to the edge of the control platform, "My ability doesn’t allow me to compete with living organisms for control of blood and flesh, so I can only work with the dead, or the half-dead, like now."
Activating "Devour and Reshape," her Mechanical Puppet appeared without anyone noticing.
The tentacle on the control platform was lifted by an invisible force.
The scattered parts Su Huan had ignored next to the control platform flew up, driven by universal energy, embedding into the octopus tentacle.
At first, it was a bit chaotic, looking like iron plate octopus.
As the various parts formed a structure, a kind of mechanical beauty emerged.
The octopus arms fused with metal, forming a tensile exoskeleton device. Before Su Huan could admire it closely, it landed on the back of the Mechanical Puppet. Various parts interlocked, and after a series of crisp clicks, the Mechanical Puppet resembling Doctor Octopus was completed.
Su Huan breathed a sigh of relief.
"As long as you’re not installing it on yourself."
Upon hearing this, a flicker of desire crossed Yu Jing’s eyes.
Seeing Su Huan’s expression gradually grow dangerous, she swiftly dismissed the notion, "Rest assured, I won’t easily modify my body."
"Better be. But why go through all the trouble to make this?"
Su Huan carefully examined the mechanical arm of the puppet.
After a minute of electricity, every tentacle ought to be half-cooked by now.
Now it seemed nothing happened, the whole thing a uniform gray.
Like mortar mixed by a bricklayer.
Paired with mechanical parts, it didn’t look as disgusting as on the control platform.
Yu Jing pinched her chin, deliberating briefly, "First, it’s easier for me to control flesh and blood mechanics. Second, these tentacles have strong vitality and can aid in repairs when the puppet body is damaged."
"No combat assistance?"
Yu Jing regretted, "Even if there is, it’s useless. I’ve never had tentacles before, so I can’t utilize them in combat, unless you let me try it myself."
Su Huan raised an eyebrow, "You try?"
Yu Jing decisively abandoned discussing with the petty train conductor which try to try, changing the subject.
"By the way, what’s this Tier Two Zombie called, can you get more of them?"
"The name... let’s call it Octopus. This is a Tier Two Zombie, not something as commonplace as cabbage, you can’t get one just because you want one."
"This is a nickname you just came up with, right?"
"You’ve been quite talkative lately. Focus more on material production and don’t delay my engineering progress!"
Su Huan shot her a look.
But unfortunately, it didn’t have much impact on Yu Jing; she’d already completed her experiment.
With no desires or demands, she didn’t care.
The train conductor didn’t show anything outwardly, but silently made a mental note about Yu Jing.
After a brief chat about material production, they walked out of the compartment reeking with a strange smell and onto the deck.
Just in time to catch He Jie leading a thousand survivors rowing back on small boats.
A grenade launcher was mounted on the leading fishing boat, and He Jie was proudly carrying a mortar beside it.
As they approached the train, he jumped directly onto the deck, bursting into hearty laughter towards Su Huan.
"Haven’t played with artillery in a long time, really damn fun!"
Su Huan observed the scale of the small boats behind him and asked, "How’s it going?"
He Jie wiped his buzz cut freshly shaved by his wife and cheerfully replied, "Tried all six, they work great! A Tier Two Butcher roared at me, one direct shot from the grenade launcher, turned it into minced meat!"
Though somewhat mentally prepared, Su Huan was still a bit surprised.
The Tier Two Butcher was somewhat like an armored vehicle, with its already thick body reinforced by a corpse armor, small caliber guns barely scratch it.
In a past life, he and Qu Hang relied entirely on an electromagnetic sniper rifle for such cleanup missions.
Otherwise, it couldn’t be penetrated.
A single shot turned it into pulp?
