He gestured for them to be seated before turning his attention back to Liang.

"I’ve heard much about you, young man. Your accomplishments at such a young age are impressive, to say the least." His tone was neutral, betraying neither approval nor disapproval.

"You flatter me, Senior Tian Wang," Liang replied evenly. "I am but a humble cultivator, striving to improve myself."

"Humility is a virtue," Dong Tian Wang acknowledged, his gaze still sharp. "However, it does not change the fact that you are asking for something of great importance to our clan. The Void Integration Matrix is not a mere trinket to be casually examined."

Hearing this, Liang couldn’t help but scoff internally; work for free? Not a chance!

He knew that his unique skills commanded a high price, especially since the Dong Clan had no viable alternatives.

Meeting his gaze steadily, Liang replied, "I understand your concerns, Senior. However, I assure you that my intentions are genuine. I would never jeopardize the Dong Clan or its secrets."

"Intentions can be deceiving," Dong Tian Wang countered. "And secrets, once revealed, are difficult to contain." He paused, his expression unreadable

"However," he continued, "I am not averse to considering your request, given the circumstances. But I must be convinced that the risk is justified."

Dong Tian Wang was acutely aware that the Dong Clan had no other options. None of their experts possessed the capability to construct a formation as advanced as the Void Integration Matrix, especially given the complexities of cultivating void essence.

"I wouldn’t mind your request, but I will need a guarantee," he declared firmly.

Liang’s eyes narrowed slightly at this, falling into silence.

"I want you to establish an oath using your Divine Rune, ensuring that you won’t disclose any knowledge about the Dong Clan or the Matrix to anyone," Dong Tian Wang specified.

Upon hearing this, Liang’s expression shifted, revealing a flicker of difficulty in his eyes. For him, manipulating such an oath was certainly feasible—similar to a bloodline contract, he could sever it if necessary. However, he couldn’t let them know that.

"I’m afraid I need to think this through thoroughly," Liang finally replied.

Dong Tian Wang’s expression remained inscrutable; he showed no signs of surprise. "What do you want in return?"

Liang raised an eyebrow, adopting a contemplative look.

"Since we’re all family here, I won’t aim too high," Liang said, adopting an air of righteousness. "I want all the data the Dong Clan possesses regarding the Abyssal Core region of Yin-Yang Abyss Mountain."

Dong Tian Wang’s eyebrows shot up, clearly surprised by Liang’s request. Even Dong Tian Zi and Dong Tian Shu looked taken aback.

The Abyssal Core region was a place of immense danger and mystery, even within the already perilous Yin-Yang Abyss Mountain. It was rumored to hold ancient secrets and powerful treasures, but also housed terrifying creatures and unpredictable spatial anomalies. Even the Dong Clan, with their vast resources and expertise, only possessed fragmented information about the region, gathered through perilous expeditions and ancient texts.

"That is not a request one makes lightly. What possible use could you have for such information?"

Liang swirled his wine cup, the ruby liquid catching light from floating spirit lanterns. "Let’s call it... curiosity. The same drive that makes your clan wants to build spatial matrices while lacking the skill to implement them."

Dong Tian Zi’s wine cup shattered in his grip. "You dare-"

A raised hand from Tian Wang silenced him. His gaze never left Liang. "Three generations of my ancestors perished mapping those depths."

"Then let their sacrifice serve purpose beyond gathering dust." Liang leaned forward, eyes gleaming with the same intensity. "I think that building a new Void Integration Matrix worth it?"

Dong Tian Zi’s fingers twitched toward hidden weapon seals before Tian Wang’s glacial chuckle fractured the tension.

"Good, you have the guts. It’s fine; I will allow it."

Liang’s eyes flickered with surprise; he hadn’t anticipated such a calm response from the man.

"However.....you will only have access to the information once the new Void Integration Matrix is complete and functional. And," he added, his gaze piercing Liang, "You will swear an oath, on your Divine Rune, that you will never use any knowledge gained from our archives to harm the Dong Clan or its interests."

Liang’s expression remained neutral, but inside, he reveled in triumph; it had been an effortless victory.

"Very well," he said at last, meeting Dong Tian Wang’s gaze firmly. "I accept your terms."

With a nod, he waved his hand, projecting his divine rune to seal the agreement.

"Now, let’s get to work." Dong Tian Wang gestured and vanished as suddenly as he had arrived.

"Brother Liang, now that you’ve secured your wish, I believe it’s time to depart."

A few days later, they stood in a nameless mountain range in the far east of the Heaven Fortune Domain.

"This location is quite suitable," Liang remarked, his eyes glinting with approval. The Dong Clan certainly wasn’t wasting any time.

"Are the formation cores ready?"

Dong Tian Shu, Dong Tian Zi, and four other formation masters from the Dong Clan nodded in unison.

"Good. Everyone, take your positions. When I signal, activate the formation cores accordingly."

The six experts exchanged serious glances and moved to their designated spots.

Liang produced a jade slip containing the blueprint for the Void Integration Matrix and contemplated it intently.

The matrix was indeed a marvel; its capabilities rivaled those of mystical-grade formations, something unattainable by most in the domain.

While mystical-grade formations couldn’t operate in the lower domains, this matrix, which matched their power, functioned flawlessly.

The matrix differed from standard formations and arrays; it was constructed by integrating multiple formations and arrays into a cohesive whole.

Arrays are the most basic, relying on a simple arrangement of materials to channel energy. Formations are more complex, requiring specific inscriptions and patterns to manipulate energy flow.

Matrices, however, transcend both by integrating multiple formations and arrays, often with overlapping functions and feedback loops, to achieve extraordinary results.

It could be said that matrix is a combination of formations and arrays, but it’s not entirely correct, a true matrix needs to have it’s own core, a core that is independent of the formations and arrays used in it’s construction.
