The execution of hunter sent shivers down the spines of all those present irrelevant of their stance. It made one thing clear.

Do not go against the Thane, the new ravens lord.

But this wasn't the end.

The in following days after hunters execution, the Blacksteels and the Nu confronted Thane once again, they didn't fight this time, but the words exchanged drove Dorn into a rage which at the end of the day led him to taking a drastic decision.

"We are leaving" Dorn announced,

But he didn't just mean the meeting, that night, the Nu, The Valor and the Blacksteels left the confines of Ravens keep with their elite men under the nose of Thane.

This news angered thane the next morning as he sent his sentinels after the three clans.

"Why is he doing this?" Victoria standing on a building not too far away from the castle asked, a look on discomfort on her face.

That gentle well meaning guy from her childhood would never act like this without a reason. Some parts of her wanted to speak to him, but he kept pushing her away.

She had never been this confused in her life.

"I don't really know….but politics can be a bit gruesome" Guilliman commented.

Right now only the two of them were on this roof, they hadn't spent a lot of time together these past few weeks so they had some catching up to do ….

Who knew it would diverge to this conversation.

"I know that all too well, but this is overboard" Victoria said sharply.

She knew what it meant to be chased around by family members who seek to subdue you. She had faced something like this too, but Thane was going overboard.

The last report of their movement patterns showed that they were heading to the mountains, clearly they were seeking to face the hallowed beast by themselves. What did thane have to fear about that? Why was he trying to capture them.

"You can say so" Guilliman nodded.

Earlier today, a few slayers under Thanes command voiced their objections to his tactics and were executed on the spot. Worse was…

They were Aaron family members.

These were their allies!!

"Sigh, there's nothing much we can do" Guilliman said with a helpless sigh.

"Yes, there's nothing" Victoria replied bringing up a cup of hot water and slowly sipping it, her eyes burned with determination and a cold glint shone in her eyes.

Though they said that on the outside, they knew that deep down Thane was wrong and had to stop….or be stopped.

That night,

A silhouette cloaked in black made his way through the streets of the shelter, making his way towards the shelter.

The city was quiet, it's air eerie, you would expect that someone with metal boots walking through the streets would make some noise, but as the silhouette walked through the streets it felt like as if a ghost was moving.

He made no sound. Not even the sound of walking, if his figure wasn't visible one would think there was no one there.

Soon, the figure came to a halt infront of the castle doors where a few sentinels could be seen standing lifeless infront of the door.

"Figured" the silhouette nodded then seamlessly slipped into a building on the side where he was able to find a small door.

This was the guard room of the castle, Guilliman knew this because he had been sent out through here severally when the castle challenge was still rather new.

It was the entrance to the dungeon.

Sliping through a few cracks the silhouette was able to find his way down sliding into a familiar room in the dungeons.

Thane had taken control of all the sentinels of the city, creating an almost impenetrable fortress within the city. Normally, even the dungeons would be crawling with sentinels at this time of night.

Thankfully, because he had sent around 70% of them

Out to capture the members of the three clans, this place was less guarded.

"Up" the young man lifted his cloak up revealing the face of a young man.

Guilliman.

When he set his eyes on Thane the day he received his inheritance, he noticed a familiar presence around his soul.

At first, he thought it was a method of the ravens lord to teach thane the ways of a shaman. It made sense, there was so much to learn, teaching him hands on through his soul seemed like a good idea.

But after seeing Thanes actions the past few weeks, he was convinced that this was not the case, the case was that the ravens lord was trying to take over Thanes body.

That made more sense that the previous congestion, if not what better candidate to receive the Ravens lord inheritance than him? A Bonifide Shaman?

Instead, the old fart mechanized for him to lose purposefully.

It was obvious what he wanted, he wanted to come back to life.

"Sigh, what a pity" Guilliman shook his head. The rules of the Shaman race was clear, any shaman practicing such dark arts had to be killed.

No matter what.

"Maximum effort" Guillimans eyes turned lazer focused as he began scaling the castle like he usually did during the challenges.

This time though, his main priority wasn't to kill and advance, rather it was to remain unseen until he got to the throne room .

There he would kill thane and the ravens lord.

And so he kept on scaling the castle, melding with the walls and dodging sentinels, it was much harder than he thought since he wasn't really an assassin class slayer.

However, he managed…without the compulsory challenges he was able to reach the top quite easily.

"Hmm, i wonder why it suddenly became so easy" guilliman smiled.

He expected to at least have to kill a few sentinels, but from start to finishe he found none, and now he was standing before the door to the top floor without seeing a single beast.

It was too easy.

Of course he realized why it was so easy.

The ravens lord was busy

He was busy fighting someone else.

"This girl…." Guilliman sighed.

He had come here to kill Thane for several reasons, one was just because of the code of the shaman race, the other was unfortunately because of Victoria.

He had grown rather fond of her, so seeing her go through so much emotions watching as her childhood friend changed made him feel bad.

He was afraid she would begin thinking ill of humans, fortunately that wasn't the case.

No, rather than do that, she was currently up here fighting against thane to the death.

-Boom!!

A smack along the chest resound and Victoria was thrown into a wall not too far away from the throne. Infront of her, Thane stood towering, the look on his face was filled with disdain.

She had come to challenge him for lordship over the shelter, making her way through the front door and burning the souls of his sentinels.

It was ballsy, but she actually made it up here.

"Victoria, why do you have to do this? Isn't the Silverstein name enough? Why must you try to take my destiny?" Thane asked a look of contempt on his face.

He didn't want her here, in fact he had purposefully pushed her away because of this very thing. She was too greedy.

"Hmm, who's talking right now? Thane or the Ravens lord?" Victoria asked slowly getting up.

She had fought thane countless times, she had also known him for a long time, this was not thane. Absolutely not.

"Hmm, little wench, you came at night time, of course it's me!!" Thanes face suddenly morphed into something morbid.

He looked disgustingly evil, as if a demon brought on earth.

A souls and bodies were made for each other, a different compatiblity usually led to a myriad of symptoms not limited to insanity and decay.

For thane and the ravens lord here, it was a little bit of both.

"I had no idea the Silverstein line actually survive that bloody struggle…how long had it been 200 years since I saw one of you fuckers? " the ravens lord asked looking directly at Victoria.

Oh he knew of this clan all too well, if it was day time he would probably run away from the castle when he saw her approaching.

Thankfully she was suicidal enough to come to him at the peak of his power.

"Hm?" Victoria raised her eyebrows, but then relaxed them the next moment.

Her Silverstein line had come almost being destroyed up to a dozen times in the last 220 years, so she didn't really know what he was talking about.

"Ahh, doesn't matter you guys survived that's all that matters.

Quite stupid of you to come here for a boy though…I mean who runs head first into the arms of their mortal enemies?" The ravens lord commented.

Those many years ago, he had participated in the extermination of the Silversteins…at that time he had no idea he would he next to be schemed against.
